The place itself is great, swimming pool and relaxing area is great and gets plenty of sun! The beds and facilities are lovely and very well kept and clean. Also offers plenty of tours and activities to do in the reception area.

The rooms could get quite hot if you were on the top bunks in the shared rooms. Also the check-in is at 4pm which was problematic for us and a few other guests considering we arrived in Chiang Mai at 6:30 am. Reception staff didn’t even try to see if there was a bed available for us to check-in early to, and so we had to wait around until late afternoon until we could check-in. This was a shame as during our stay, we noticed plenty of beds free and available and made ready by noon after other guests had checked out the same day.

Well maintained, cute dogs, nice to have snack options in the lobby. Cool pool. Strong AC, clean rooms, people were fairly quiet. Good coffee options right on the block and a short walk into the old city.

Same price here as private rooms that are within the old city. Smoking area right below the rooms so smoke blows in. Magnetic door locks are weak enough that you can actually just open it without using a key. Bag storage area under the bed was fairly small for 2 people. There's a seating area right outside the rooms so people would make phone calls there not realizing that the door isn't soundproof at all. Hot water in one shower was broken.

The staff here are so lovely and helpful! They asked about my plans, made recommendations, and stored my belongings for free when I left town for short trips. The staff make this stay worth it. The facilities are great! Everything is very clean, including the pool, bathrooms and common area. The dorm rooms have large and very comfortable mattresses (rare in Thailand!) and the curtains give full privacy without and big gaps. Each bunk has a light and outlets as well.

The locker under the bunks is very short so cannot fit a full size backpack or luggage, only a carry on. You can keep your valuables there, but your backpack will need to go elsewhere. However, there is a room for your bigger bags outside your dorm which is only accessible by key card.

Great location and facilities, fabulous pool area, beautiful little street full of cool shops and cafes, comfortable beds, great having a double bed bunk. The staff were so helpful - I messed up our booking and booked for the night after, but they managed to make for us in the longer stay part of the building - so kind, especially as it was the Yi Peng festival so the whole city was super busy. Great service

Best hostel I’ve stayed in. Rooms were spacious and there is extra lockers than just the ones under the bed. Very clean. We actually had an incident with another guess being sick (everywhere) they handle it so well asked them to leave and the rooms we steam sterilised and cleaned for 2 days. They also replaced their bed. The pool is lovely and the food available in the lobby from a neighbouring cafe is so good!! Location is great we could walk everywhere we needed to go! Fab hostel

Couldn’t fault it

Great location, price and overall quality of the hostel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beds are really big and very comfortable. Overall cleanliness is spot on. The pool is great, clean and well maintained.

- Some showers hot water system seemed not working. - The hostel didn’t organize activities to help travelers to socialize. It’s good that it’s not a party hostel but some simple activities could be organized. - The ladders to the upper bed should be slightly angled to make climbing easier.

The place is clean and comfortable but the staff makes your stay amazing…specifically Gyoza. She is amazing, kind, and so helpful. She helped me plan a trip around Samoeng Loop, rent the scooter and have it delivered (for a cheaper price than listed), helped me plan my next trip to one of the islands based off her recommendation, and even helped me tend to a minor medical issue. Not to mention, Gyoza and the other staff, really go above and beyond to help you enjoy your stay and time in Chiang Mai. I was very glad I stayed here.

What's Up Chiang Mai is a little hostel hidden gem. Very affordable for what you get. Generous beds with curtains, outlets and lights and a large underbed locker, enough to fit a daypack or small rucksack. Pool was excellent and a great place to relax in the afternoon after a hot day of sightseeing. Pool and common areas are shared with the hotel portion of this accommodation. Atmosphere is social, yet quiet. Was easy to meant people in the dorms or around the pool at certain times, but not a party hostel, so I wouldn't book if you are wanting that. It is though located around the corner from some, so was easy to go the the bars there and return to a quiet place when you wanted. Not too much in terms of food or transport in the immediate surrounding streets, however was only a 5-10 min walk to anything. Safe area, I was a female travelling solo and didn't feel uncomfortable at all. I would recommend and stay again. Especially for the price.

Reception closed of an evening, if you arrive late it could be an issue. Showers in the dorm area weren't that great. Pressure could be better and water could be hotter, Not terrible though.

The pool is great. The staff is helpful and the property is well maintained. The beds are super comfy and the location is far enough away that it is quiet and close enough to walk everywhere.

There was an issue where I was forced to change bed in the middle of my stay, which inconvenienced my trip. Then after the first change I had to switch again, back to the room I was originally in. This obviously made me mad and ruined an otherwise lovely stay.

An absolutely amazing accommodation, one of the best places I've stayed in all my travels. The mixed dorm was full so I got an upgrade to a private room (part of The Warehouse) and it was all I needed with private bathroom and quiet room. Pool and lobby awesome vibes, not too party but still friendly and social. On a very cool street-cocktail bar, thrift stores, laundromat 24hr...honestly ill be back.

Nothing to fault, thank you so much!
