I absolutely loved Dar Ennassim and can't wait to return there and stay longer next time. It's a gorgeous renovated old house in the heart of the Marsa area, just 25 minutes by car from downtown Tunis, and a 15-minute walk from Marsa beach - a long stretch of beautiful sandy beach with clear water. The guesthouse has 11 rooms, and each room has a very unique character and is very tastefully decorated. The beds are very comfortable, with excellent mattresses, and blackout curtains block every possible source of light to help you have an excellent night's sleep. Breakfast is rich and elegant; served on a rooftop terrace with a beautiful view, and offering a very rich menu of homemade marmalades, eggs made to order, fresh crepes, fruit salad, yoghurt, muesli, cheeses, fresh juice, and other delicacies. There are three different rooftop terraces, one of them next to a small but nice pool, and it was a perfect space for me to take my laptop and work in the evening. In the morning, I absolutely loved going for a sunrise jog or sunrise swim in the sea. The guesthouse is perfectly located close to so many supermarkets, pharmacies, artisan boutiques, restaurants, cafes, gelato shops (I strongly recommend Maison Geliamo, a very short walk from Dar Ennassim). The host, Taieb, is very kind, welcoming, and helpful. He greets you with a fascinating history of the house that his father bought 25 years ago, and that they both worked together on renovating. He shares his passion for gardening which you can see in the beautiful plants all around the terraces. His mother's paintings fill the walls of the house. I strongly recommend accepting his suggestion of visiting his grandfather's house-turned-museum in Sidi Bou Said, Dar Al-Annabi, a fascinating window into Tunisian history in the late Ottoman period and the colonial period until independence.

Actually, there's not much to add beyond all the other reviews already available. The property is absolutely valid, and the attention to detail in every corner of the house is truly appreciated. I could go on about the terrace, the swimming pool, the breakfast, but everything has already been said by others. It is probably one of the best places we have stayed in recent years, so if you are looking for accommodation in this area, trust me, look no further and book this one. You will not be disappointed.

Taieb is a marvelous host. Not only he helped us arranging daytrips to Cartage and Thugga, he gave us immediately the feeling of being at home in Dar Ennassim. Having an every day variating breakfast with coffee, thee, fresh juice, homemade sweets, tunisian bread, french croissants and crèpes, cheeses, fruits, omelets, berber pancakes and lots of other amazing stuff, is the most wonderful way a person could start his day. The big family table in the living room where breakfast is served, invites to have a chat with other guests, sitting together in a tastfully decorated space that hides little treasures in every angle. Upon entering the family house, guests are welcomed by the smell of amber, roses and jasmine essences, spread by traditional oil burners. Every part of the house is kept very clean. Also the rooms are lovely decorated and we were lucky to stay in the upper rooms, located on the roof terras with an outstanding view over the white washed houses of all-Marsa and its mosque. The view from my bed, when I woke up in the morning with the upcoming sun glowing over the city, is unforgettable.

The breakfast on the terrace was lovely with lots of homemade food and fresh juice. I particularly liked the pomegranate jam! The building is beautiful and so close to amenities and especially to La Marsa seafront. Taieb and his family were fantastic hosts. Very helpful and full of great information. At their suggestion we also visited their old familial home in Sidi Bou Said which was amazing and so full of personal history. Our room was very comfortable and extremely quiet at night. We stayed for six nights and would happily have stayed longer. Highly recommend Dar Ennassim!

This is one of the best stays I had, hotel gives you a hint of both culture and history. Location is in the heart of La Marsa with easy access to transportation. Room was very comfortable, bright and clean. Breakfast was the highlight of the stay where all guests are gathered on this antique dining table and variety of food is being offered. Ms. Sonia, the owner, is very attentive and helpful, and she is the one who made this stay remarkable.

From the moment we reached the hotel (the host welcomed us outside) until we left (waited with us for the taxi), our time at the hotel was exceptional. The house is beautiful, with many fascinating art displayed, and it is a joy to stroll around. The rooms are spacy, well-equipped, and meticulously clean. Our view over the city was fantastic (we got the room on the top floor). Breakfast is tasty, they offer a variety of pastries and fruits, as well as daily varying other small desserts (cakes, cremes, everything homemade!). The host and the staff are very kind and happy to share their knowledge about the city and the surroundings. We stayed at different hotels throughout the Tunis region; this was the best we had!

A truly remarkable and unforgettable Maison d'Hotes! Extraordinary and thoughtful architecture, breathtaking rooftop sunsets, wonderful breakfasts and an amazing host. . .we started with a tour of the house/hotel before we went to our rooms, which was unexpected and superb! The location is excellent in La Marsa - easy to find, close to interesting shops/cafes/beach - loads to do in walking distance - loved it!

Truly charming place to stay, design of the spacious Dar Ennassim is a splendid mix of traditional Tunisian, family history and modern art. Outstanding service with the Manager's (Taieb's) response time within minutes. Clean, spacious, charming guest room and common areas with all amenities one could wish for - all functioning, all well maintained, every corner in Dar Ennassim is looked after with attention to detail and care. Home-made breakfast on beautiful terrace with view over La Marsa and beyond. Internet working well in room and common areas. Oasis of peacefulness in central location of La Marsa with walking distance within minutes to Shops, Restaurants, Cafés, the beach. Whenever coming back to Tunis, no other than this is the beautiful house I will want to return to.

Dar Ennassim is both gorgeous and spotlessly clean and Taieb and family are terrific hosts. The location is also terrific within La Marsa and the view from the top patio is stunning. The spacious rooms have thoughtful touches and are beautifully decorated, the beds have high quality linens and the bathrooms are modern and also spacious. The common sitting rooms in Dar Ennassim were quiet inside and had a peaceful, artistic ambiance. Reliable wi-fi, too. Oh, and the breakfasts are fantastic- all highest quality ingredients and carefully prepared pastries, cereals, eggs, Tunisian sweets, and more. Really I can't say enough good things about Dar Ennassim, it made my 5-day visit to La Marsa just perfect.

Dar Ennassim is a beautiful family home in a nice part of the town, close to different facilities, places to go out to, walking distance from nice restaurants and small shops. We were there for close to a week. Initially thought of staying in Tunis for a few nights only and go somewhere else, but we liked it so much and decided to stay longer with Taieb and Sonia. Taieb was super resourceful, we got a free entry to their other house turned into a museum to learn about family life, enjoy beautiful traditional interior design and views from the rooftop balcony. Every morning we were served with a wonderful breakfast containing home-made jams and spreads.

Internet was a bit weak in our room. They have various networks at the property, but it didn’t work well for us. We had SIM cards so used hotspots when we needed. SIM cards are easy to get with rather cheap mobile internet packages.
