The hotel was one of the most beautiful I've stayed at. It's located so close to the centre of the medina but was still so quiet and peaceful. The room itself was extremely spacious with a large and modern bathroom, and the bed was also really comfortable. We really appreciated the daily chocolates, fruits and dates! The staff were all very helpful - they even had someone show us the way at night to the closest shop when we needed to buy some toothpaste. Their advice was useful and made the stay all the more wonderful.

The only issue we had was that we ran out of toilet paper on our last day. Definitely would expect to have more provided without needing to request it.

This is a beautiful hotel A labour of love architecturally and design. Nice and friendly staff. The suite was exceptional. The terrace Resturant was great. Every aspect of design was outstanding. The owners must have persevered to achieve this perfection.

The traditional Resturant opposite the Hotel also called Dar El Jeld was a disappointment. Service non existent and we were forgotten at our table and every course we had to find someone for service. Food was pretty mediocre. Does not cater for vegetarians. Hardly anyone spoke English. Menu in French so be prepared. Breakfast at hotel is pretty standard fare,

The hotel is in the heart of the Medina, a big plus for me. My suite was comfortable and extremely spacious, a living area, a wardrobe room, a lovely bedroom and a large bathroom, with bath and separate shower. The reception team and room service were attentive and helpful and made sure I felt at home away from home. And finally, I enjoyed use of the steam room and dined well in the rooftop restaurant. If I should return to Tunis, I wouldn’t want to stay elsewhere.

The property (Dar) itself is unbelievably beautiful. You will not believe there is such a beautiful place created inside the narrow streets of Medina. Every detail in the property is of best in terms of interiors and representing the Tunisian Tradition. For an ultimate experience of grand Tunisian living rite in the middle of Medina you can not imagine a better place to stay. You should stay to experience. The staffs are very helpful and friendly when we approach.

I suggest there should be better Guest Welcome and interface for a property like this. The team in the front desk is always there but a Hotel of this size should have one senior person interacting more with the guest who should be seen all the time in the property. Some times you feel there is just one person in the front desk all the time. This will give the guest more indulgence with the property and also to understand things around the Medina and in Tunis.

Location is in the old Tunis city. It is an unusual location as you can never imagine that there would be a luxurious hotel located in the inner city streets. The hotel is of an unusual design as it is a converted building which used to be a large family home followed by a school. The refurbishment that happened around 5 years ago is however of a very high standrad.

As the hotel is in deep old inner city, the streets had a very old sewerage system. There would therefore be a slight smell of sewerage in the air. The air conditioning was also somewhat suboptimal. Both these factors were however not a major problem for us.

Mouti, the male receptionist, was so helpful from the minute I called them from abroad. He was genuine and a natural 5 star staff! The hotel is tastefully decorated. Dates and oranges were left for us at iftar - a lovely touch. We had a beautiful and spacious room. The spare bed (double) was set up and made for our arrival. The porters were always helpful and smiley!

Over the phone, Mouti told me about iftar in their famous restaurant down the road. However, when I enquired about this at check-in, the female eceptionist led us to the rooftop one, so we assumed the other was closed and resorted to eating there. The iftar was pleasant but not amazing. The service was very slow. The waitress seemed new; we had to ask for napkins and salt and pepper. The latter never came. After our meal, we explored the medina and found their famous restaurant opened -' we were gutted that we didn't get to dine there. The following day, the lovely porter took us into the restaurant to have a look.

The hotel is on the edge of the Medina, and a short walk from the centre of the city. Tucked away down a side street behind large government buildings it is a hidden oasis in the hurly-burly of Tunis. Suites are arranged around a central garden well, spacious and well-furnished. Room service is attentive and welcome little extras make a pleasant surprise. The rooftop bar is a great place for a relaxing drink or meal, with views right over the city.

There’s very little not to like. Perhaps a greater range of smaller meal choices in the restaurant if you don’t want a full dinner, and a price cut on the ‘bric’ - overpriced relative to the menu in general - but these are minor ‘petits bémols’ and do not undermine the excellent experience overall.

Beautiful and well maintained with traditional decor. You can feel it has a soul and looks spotless. Every corner is worth stopping and photographing. Restaurant team on the rooftop who spoke English (boy) was very welcoming and very excited to see us - this type of warm welcome we would expect from reception team. Door on rooftop restaurant was excellent, we stayed 6 hours from lunch to dinner with our friends and enjoyed view, service and food very much. Will come back and recommend.

There is no parking nearby, coming with luggage is not easy as there are many building sites around and streets are chaotic and busy. But it has nothing to do with property itself of course, just to have in mind to plan arrival. Team on arrival could be more welcoming and engaging, perhaps offer welcome drink. Also when showing the room there could be small tour done on the way to tell story of property and history as it is stunning building and decor and I am sure many would like to have more information.
