The location

The staff, despite its friendliness, is too much on your face. Even the reception desk is positioned in a way that you must interact with them, before going to your room. There is fine line between providing a personable service and stepping on someone’s privacy. I am a social person, but for a few times I felt uncomfortably forced to interact with the staff.

Staff is charming and does try really hard to help and go the extra mile. They still don’t pick up on small habits (they will rearrange things in the room to their original position, regardless of your preferences) but you’ll always be unmistakably addressed by name and with utmost kindness and genuine care. Breakfast is delicious and the rooms are delightfully appointed. Excellent amenities and original tea blends.

Location is central, but if you need quick and efficient transportation, it’s too close to city centre to ensure taxis will come your way. Be prepared to walk.

the hotel is on a very small site. they have crammed 36 bedrooms into a former bank building. it has been done very well but lacks the amenities and facilities that some people would expect when paying these prices.

Our Check in was very late at night and was super smooth and the thoughtful touches the reception staff did for us was lovely. Two very small things. The Toilet is not private from the room. Obscured glass down to just below knee level. House keeping tended to leave bags of linen etc on the walkways outside the room during the day whilst servicing the rooms. again I’m nitpicking here.

We stayed here in April 2023. It is a beautiful, small hotel in a unique old building which was previously a bank. We were so fortunate as we were upgraded to a small suite which made the experience (for our 20th wedding anniversary) even more special. It was fortunate too because some of the standard rooms, owing to the shape and features of the old building are a bit on the small side - definitely worth considering the upgrade. The major selling point is that the hotel is in the heart of the old city, walkable distance (or a short hop on the tram) to all the major sites - TopKapi, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar… and also for trips on the Bosphorous and close to the Galata bridge for venturing into the Beyoğlu district for shopping and restaurants. The hotel itself is a little oasis of calm in the midst of a very bustling and always crowded area. And there are spectacular views from the rooftop which we enjoyed over a gin & tonic brought up to us by the attentive staff. In fact, the staff and service are really exceptional - welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. But overall, a fabulous stay and would warmly recommend.

The only criticism would perhaps be the bathroom arrangement which is quite small, even a bit cramped for this class of hotel, but is due to the shape and proportions of the building. The toilet door in our room didn’t fit properly and has a glass panel at the bottom! In a standard room where the bed is right near the toilet door, this would probably be even more off putting!

Our stay in orientbank was absolutely delightful, The staff went out of their way to help, the service was above and beyond, they really want you as a guest to be as comfortable as you can, rooms are small but we felt very safe and well looked after. The hotel is in a great location, 3 minute walk to spice bazaar and 10 minutes to Sultanahmet & Grandbazaar , very close to the port and train. Beautiful, new, very clean boutique hotel in old bank building with very good window insulation.

Great location, close to Aya Sofia (10 min walk) and Gran Pazar (7 min walk). Staff helpful, attentive very polite. Nice applied the idea of keeping the outlook of the bank that the place used to be.

Room was kind of small. The lobby is trying to fit too many services, like restaurant, reception, waiting area etc. The reception desk could be aside, not in the middle of the area.

Great location, friendly staff, quiet room, nice basement bar, beautiful lounge.

The bathroom offered little privacy and was oversized considerably. The glass enclosed toilet room was so large that we put our luggage in it. The shower floor was very slick when wet and did not drain well, resulting in water in the sink area.
