We have stayed at this hotel on 3 occasions now, each time we stayed we have to compliment the staff, very friendly & efficient, the food is of a good quality, we had both breakfast and a room service meal. The room itself was pretty spacious. The hotels location within the city centre and within walking distance of both the train/bus station id definitely a plus point.
The hotel itself is starting to feel a bit dated, it has been around 5-6 years since we first stayed in this hotel and in that time it has not undergone any kind of refurb, the furniture & fixings are now starting to feel a bit worn. There has been a pub/nightclub open nearby and the volume of the music was a bit too much, I acknowledge that there is likely not a lot that the hotel itself can do about it though, perhaps if there is a possibility of upgrading the single glazed windows to the front of the hotel that would make a difference.

Location very central Parking Breakfast was lovely Reception staff helpful and welcome Nice seated area for being together as a group Comfortable beds and facilities
Housekeeping staff were very rude Bar staff are very slow and not enough of them, we were a group of 12, over 20 minutes to be served simple drinks order Keys keep requiring reset which is not acceptable up and down during stay Residents cannot get a drink post a certain time which lost hotels offer this facility No open reception at night time, must buzz in like a hostel Whilst Rooms were comfortable but better/more pillows are needed

The location was excellent, and the hotel clean and comfortable. Staff were efficient and helpful, particularly over an item of property accidentally left behind after checking out. The hotel breakfast buffet was a nice selection and good value! Having never been in Aberdeen before, I discovered that this was a very traditional place in the city, and the best possible introduction to it. I would certainly recommend, and hope to visit again sometime.
I did notice that nobody was actually in the hotel bar when calling in for a drink on the way out to dinner, and that they must have been busy elsewhere in the hotel. The same thing seemed to have happened when calling the number designated for room service ordering earlier. However, this was a minor matter only!!

Excellent location for shopping or attending the theatre. The breakfast on offer is of a superb quality for what we were charged £10 a head. A complete bargain. Our room was a superior and was absolutely huge. The beds were extremely comfy and there was plenty of storage for clothing. The bathroom was also massive.
Nothing really. Perhaps the woodwork in the room we were in, which was a superior, could be freshened as it’s looking a bit tired and scruffy. As this is an old building, there is no double glazing, so the noise from the street can go on until the early hours as there are nearby bars and restaurants and the newly refurbished gardens seem to attract young men who like to let their hair down, noisily.

Great location for shopping, socialising and eating, loads of stairs but good for clocking up the steps count, there is a lift. Breakfast was a good varied selection. Comfortable bed and our room was spacious and clean. Lovely view over the city and Union Terrace gardens.
Shower in the bath and a little complicated to get the water going. The hotel needs a little tlc, scuffed paint work, threadbare carpet on the stairs and ill-fitting floorboards that make you feel like you are stepping in a hole, maybe I was.

it was in an excellent location, close to the theatre, shops and restaurants. it is also an easy walk from the train and bus stations. The property is well decorated and clean. We had been offered an upgrade, which we took and we were given a simply enormous room at the front of the hotel. It had everything that we needed plus bathrobes and slippers. Lots of storage space with great mirrors. The bathroom was also simply enormous. We had also been offered breakfast for £10 pp. What a bargain that was. The breakfast was excellent. Well cooked with lots of fresh coffee. We’ve booked to go there again in May and know that we will have a great stay again.
nothing really

A huge room that was cheaper and nicer than the 'shoebox' when we stayed in a central London hotel. Very well set up for wheelchair guests. Fantastic walk-in power shower. Two minutes walk from Union Street shops. Friendly efficient staff. Great cooked and continental breakfast choices. Comfortable king size bed. No noisy clubs or bars outside the front of the hotel, only the occasional boy racer driving past. A short walk to the train station.
Unfortunately the bistro wasn't open the night we had planned to dine in but plenty of options a short walk away. Would have been nice if USB sockets were fitted in the room.

All staff were great especially the grey haired lady on saturday night - She worked her sock off, bar , drinks to tables then took meal ordera aswrll I appreciate it was busy because of the show But surely another body would have taken the toll off of her a bit . I do understand i have worked in local hotels for 45 years.
