Extremely convenient location, within 5 minutes walk from the railway station (over a busy, but fairly easy-cross road); also within a few minutes walk of the centre, and locations such as the ferry terminal. Room was left clean and tidy, and (as requested) quiet away from the road (several rooms at back or on higher floors). Damaged furniture previous to my arrival was noted and promptly attended-to during my stay. Room temperature was just right; hot water worked well.

Key collection: area for using the safe to collect room keys could either (a) have brighter lighting, to better see the numbers on the tumblers (e.g. arriving tired, I had the correct number in mind but mistook the stamped number '6' on one tumbler for another number '8' and thus failed to open the key safe), or (b) the tumblers could have the numbers more clearly marked. On ringing for help, reassurance was available, until i tried once more, squinted closely at the numbers and realised where my mistake was! Bathroom ventilation from adjacent rooms was audible. Windows which can be easily opened would be nice, for fresh air.

This was my first experience with a key-entry property with no attendant staff at check in. I was amazed about the specific and fully explained directions. I had no problems. And all went as stipulated, including the days of service, and contact information, if necessary. I was pleasantly Surprised! All went so smoothly. Great private property. If in Aberdeen, shall definitely use the same again.

The room was very spacious and had a fridge, microwave, and wardrobe. Water pressure in the shower was good. Bed was big and comfortable. Location is close to town but not on a busy street which was nice. There was also a small supermarket very close by.

I didn’t like that the room wasn’t serviced during my stay (I think because I was only there for 3 days), as I had quite a bit of rubbish and some dirty dishes I couldn’t do anything about, which made my stay a bit less comfortable.

Having stayed there before I knew it was a good place to stay, checked in via code on door, went to room 3, was just getting my gear laid out and turned on the TV only to find the screen was smashed, immediately contacted housekeeping as I didn't want to get the blame and just expected the TV to be replaced but no I was upgraded to room 4 which is a double room and room 3 was closed for maintenance. Excellent response by the team and as usual my stay was clean, comfortable and uneventful. I will be back.

Although the room could do with new carpets & decorating. it was still great value for money & had more than we expected ie. microwave, decent size fridge, plates, cutlery etc. the short distance from the bus station was excellent as being near all the shops, bars etc. would definitely book this hotel again thanks for a lovely stay.

Carpets & decor

Terra Nova is in a great central location, with Union Street a couple of minutes walk away, yet quiet and residential. The guy I spoke to on the phone - I'm sorry I didn't catch your name - was very helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room had a microwave and fridge. A kitchen is available downstairs.

The shower took a long time to drain. It took me a minute to work out you only had to touch any metal part of the light to turn it on or off. I can't think of anything else I didn't like.

No-frills stay, very conveniently located for central Aberdeen. The room had everything I needed and was comfortable and warm. They actually had someone coming around to bleed the radiators and get them working properly while I was staying there, and the owner was very apologetic about any disruption, but it really wasn't a problem.

Nothing to dislike, really, this was pretty much exactly what I paid for and I was happy with it.

It was very easy to check in and out of the hotel. The hotel is located close to the railway station and shopping centres.

The bedroom was tight. On several occasions, I hit my legs on the iron bed stand and bumped into the television on the wall in a bid to pass through constricted spaces.

Spacious and central. It was also secure and functional. Good value for money at about £35 a night, especially for a CBD address.

Hot water tap in bathroom didn’t work but shower was decent ( just ended up boiling the jug for washing and shaving- like in the old movies!) A toaster would have been handy - as they already provided a fridge and microwave.

That its near the town centre,very easy five minute walk. The staff was very easy to talk to and sorted anything if i had a problem. So easy to use and loved the room size and loved that the toilet was near by
