Everything was as expected as have visited prior to this visit. Booked a superior room as the standard room last time was very cosy(small). Dinner was superb, breakfast was superb and the staff were extremely welcoming and warm. Loved the availability of eating at any time an early dinner ready for the theatre…perfect. Your receptionist was extremely welcoming and a real asset to your team.

The room was a little tired looking. Wires hanging from the tv, not a great look. The bin under the dressing table had seen better days. A dressing gown for us both would have been a lovely extra touch.

Great location, beautiful grounds, lovely hotel building, great food and drink, plus very competent and friendly staff. Eating on terrace when sun shining is lovely. Great choice of food and drinks. Hot tub in spa is great, so is sauna, massages good.

Bathrooms: lack of shelves to put toiletries on (only one small ledge). Lack of towel rails and pegs in (only one rail for 4 towels) so had to get fresh towels everyday as they did not dry. Not very climate friendly when fitting shelves and pegs is a low cost option. No moisturiser, flannels, robes or soft close toilets - things one expects in a 4 star hotel. Main rooms were too hot, Dyson fans provided, which are noisy. Spa design is strange - reception area shared with relaxation area; this should be separate as don't want to see staff/ customers checking in when trying to relax. Needs walling off. Lights too bright. No swimming pool

Our room was in the Gatehouse which is up the top of the driveway. Lovely room and conversion of this building but not ideal if you like to “pop back” to your room easily. Buggy collection service, if there is enough staff at that time we found out.

Just the usual things that most hotels get very wrong, especially for what they charge. Blinds barely keep any light out so don’t expect a lay in. No tall mirror, in fact the large round mirror is in totally the wrong place altogether. Don’t expect to see your outfit or shoes if there for a special event. No hooks for towels in use or clothes when in the bathroom, they just have to lay on the window ledge. These things don’t cost much and would be noticed if any hotel designer, or staff, ever dared to sleep and use the rooms. Such basics!

The hotel was beautiful. I have eaten there a few times and have always wanted to stay over. The room was excellent and spacious. Loved the décor. The club sandwiches we had for lunch were delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a very hot day and I asked for an ice bucket to be placed in our room for our arrival to chill off the wine. This was done, and we even received a phone call to our room confirming that we were happy. Having read through the spec it hadn't mentioned a fridge in the room, but there was one with free delicious orange and apple juices, fresh milk and water. Although the cooked breakfast was disappointing, the danish pastries were first class.

We went down for breakfast around 9am, so near the end of the breakfast allocation. Unfortunately there was only one piece of bacon left and the sausages, mushrooms and potatoes were very dry from sitting under the heaters. They had just brought out some fresh scrambled egg, but it looked very watery and I didn't fancy it. When I next go (which I will) I will order something freshly made from the menu. For me, the pillows were way too soft, but everyone has their preferences.

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. Everything looks so well maintained. Every member of staff we encountered was wonderful. The room very clean with a gorgeous comfortable king size bed.The pillows were amazing too. Breakfast was delicious with the best poached eggs we have ever tasted. We didn't have an evening meal because we met up with family but we will definitely be back and remedy that! I do think you need a car to get around but that's not an issue for us. I would definitely recommend this hotel as we thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

Nothing about the hotel as it's great. There isn't too much within walking distance.

Beautiful setting, great layout, food was excellent, we had lunch, dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was delicious and so much to choose from, not too busy. Our room was beyond amazing.

Staff seemed stressed, receptionist was “in a meeting” with potential booking for a party which meant we hung around for a while without being acknowledged, then felt like we were a nuisance, bar staff were very attentive to us but stressed with other guests & allowed the stress to show. Drinks were spilled, long waits for table service. Wish the spa was included in the price. Were not offered spa access or asked if we would like treatments.

The property was clean, good size rooms and the staff were all really friendly and helpful

The only real downside was due to a personal issue stopping us arriving on the 9th and having to arrive on the 10th but not being able to cancel the 1st evening therefore having to pay for a night that never got used, the night we stayed was excellent and not a bad word to say other than along with dinner it turned into and expensive night, which is not a problem when you get to enjoy it and would have been the same on the night we couldn’t be there. We have a trip booked for the end of the month and as much as I’d love to return the lack of being able to discuss for the possibilities of things happening out of my control has made me nervous ?

The breakfast was beautiful. The staff were well versed in their duties and always with a smile. It was so nice to go somewhere where the staff don't refer to you as "guys". Nothing was too much trouble. We will be recommending it and going back.

The only criticism we had, and we shared it with management, and they apologised and said they will take the comments on board, was that there was scaffolding around the building which spoilt the beautiful views from our room, and the fact that this had not been mentioned to us before we travelled. Although it would not have stopped us from going.

A really lovely hotel with friendly staff and a great restaurant. The location is great for Ipswich/Woodbridge and surrounding areas. The property is large with plenty of ground to explore. We had separate accommodation in converted outbuildings which were very comfortable.

Nothing really, we had a small issue with the heating/aircon in the morning but the reception staff quickly brought over a heater and gave some advice on how to resolve, which we were able to do.

Hi. I was going to email to say Thank you! I stayed for one night for a break and was totally impressed! The reception staff was lovely and offered to change my room, as originally wasn’t keen on an outside room. The room was perfect, and the breakfast amazing The spa was great and all the staff were professional kind and excellent at their treatments! The whole package exceeded my expectations and I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook or recommend Well done everyone !
