Quiet. Spacious room. Clean. Basic self catering facilities to make simple meals - nice not to have to go out to eat after a long day exploring and ability to make own sandwiches for the day. Tea, coffee, milk and a few breakfast items for 1st morning provided and much appreciated. Good location for easy access to the coast: Southwold,Aldeburgh and delightful Minsmere RSPB site without paying through the nose in school holiday period. Welcoming hosts.
Sadly pub closed Mondays when we planned to eat there in eve. Breakfast situation has changed. Booking.com states it is served in the room and reviews rave about the cooked breakfast. This is no longer offered - for sensible commercial reasons. We did appreciate the free basic breakfast items provided for one morning instead. Bed is fine but my back doesn't like soft mattresses unfortunately. Bit of TLC needed to outdoor furniture and hot water tap: sprays water sideways. Personally I would remove the portable oven. V small, not needed and sth that heats to 230C not being fixed in but balanced in top of microwave did not seem safe to use. Having a microwave and toaster is already more than expected for a place not advertised as self catering. Great little fridge.

Wonderfully quiet, cosy, comfortable cabin with very friendly and helpful hosts, Tom and Helen. Lovely little breakfast welcome pack which was a very pleasant surprise. Really liked that there was a little fridge, toaster and mini oven, so you could be a bit more self-sufficient, but the food in the pub looks fantastic - sorry we only had time to sample the cheese board. Definitely hoping to return.

We have stayed at the Lion several times before , this time was during a very cold spell. The room had two heaters, which were needed but did keep us relatively warm . Tom the landlord was very attentive and made sure we were as comfortable as possible, the beds are very comfortable. We ate in the bar one evening which was very nice and as usual there was a very good choice of beers on offer. Overall a very nice stay once again.
Very small sink in bathroom but we manage ok.

The cabin was quite spacious clean with good facilities and comfortable beds. Although the hot water to the basin was a little unpredictable, as mentioned by others, if you followed the instructions, it was fine. The shower worked well though. The beer was well kept, with a very good selection of local ales and the food was also very good. The Barman was very friendly and helpful.
The only minor negative on our stay was that it took a very long time to get our meal due to another large table arriving at a later time to they had originally booked. The barman was very apologetic though, and when the food did arrive, it was worth the wait.

We stayed in the double lodge. The lodge was warm and with the little extras, very welcoming. Excellent location; lovely & quiet. The lodges are away from the road. Plenty of parking. They do a lovely curry night on a Tuesday. Tom & his staff were very friendly. We had our two labs with us, and they couldn't have been welcomed more! ☺️ We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely 'chalet' accomodation at end of pub garden. Comfy and quiet with countryside views. Great touch with fridge/microwave etc. in room.
Wifi not working, but embraced the opportunity to spend a little time 'off line'. Otherwise, nothing to fault....

Very comfy bed. Friendly staff. Outside space.
The porridge. A choice of cereal would have been good. Difficult to get water for kettle. Maybe leave a bottle of water in the fridge.

Excellent hosts. Pie was to die for...Real pastry Complimentary breakfast great combination.
Green emergency light was so bright in the chalet opposite bed. Understand it has to be there but difficult to sleep. Slightly difficult wheelchair access ok if you are able to use sticks.

Room in a cabin at the end of a small garden was warm, private and quiet. Good, freshly made breakfast (not cheap) delivered to the cabin. Good choice of home made meals for dinner with good quality meat and well cooked vegetables. Interesting choice of desserts. Two excellent local real ales. Hospitable hosts. Attractive, comfortable dining area.
Cabin bathroom was very small with a step from the bedroom. Poor flow of hot water in the sink. Small TV with incomprehensible controls. Poor WiFi connection in the cabin. Not enough lighting. Access to cabin quite difficult at night with little light, rough ground and overgrown bushes. Outside toilets for drinkers not easy to find. Outside of building unattractive and all signs need a coat of paint.
