Exceptional staff who were efficient, friendly, cheerful - a real team spirit. Room was very comfortable and furnished with everything we needed. The restaurant was large and airy, and it was pleasant to have a cosy sitting room in which to relax before dinner. Restaurant offered varied menus for breakfast and dinner and servings were very generous! The location was perfect for visiting the coast and places of interest.
Restaurant service could be slow at times but we understand the problems with staff recruitment in hospitality at the moment. An observation and not a complaint: the hotel is very dog friendly, and there were always a lot of dogs in the restaurant at every meal.

Breakfast lovely - good choices - fresh food - no trouble ordering part-breakfast mixes. Staff coped very well with the power cut - evening meals were still provided, if not hot, but very nice. Full marks for organisation.
I always gripe about the costs of draught cider and wine lists, but being a dinosaur, it's difficult not to. ;-) Overall, the wine list was reasonably priced, offering some in the low £20s range - we are not all wine buffs, or have bottomless pockets. However, the ones we chose over the 2 nights, at around £28 each, were excellent ones! I just have to adjust my perceptions of costs based on the recent cost-of-living issues.

The room was lovely, comfortable bed (with a choice of thick or thin pillow) and fantastic bathroom with a bath tub and a walk in shower. We didn't eat dinner at the Crown but breakfast was excellent, a good choice of cereals and hot food, with the option to eat outside in nicer weather. Good car parking -quite busy but we always managed to get a space. It was nice to have a small lounge available for games, reading, TV.
The service at breakfast was incredibly slow, regardless of the time we ate. Even very slow to bring tea or coffee to the table initially. This is fine if you are having a slow start but not if you want to get 'out and about'.

Friendly and welcoming staff, who were very helpful and responsive when we asked for a room change, very good buffet and hot breakfast. Good situation and all in all good value for money.
The first night we were in the block of rooms next to the road which though not a very major road became noisy from about 6 onwards. However, when we asked for a room change this was dealt with promptly including moving our luggage when out so good responsive service. Still if a light sleeeper, suggest you ask for a quiet room away from the road.

Lovely individual rooms Very pet friendly Lovely breakfast Good parking Nice staff
trivial things like chipped paint, cracked filler around the floor tiles Limited milk for tea and coffee but easily rectified by staff Main issue is that i think it £50 over priced in comparison to other ' en vogue' tourist area This maybe a generic Suffolk coastal complaint I could've stayed in the Lakes for 2 nights in a comparable hotel for one in Westleton or on the Norfolk coast for £80 less

The bedroom was comfortable and tidy, it had the bonus of having a bath in the bedroom as well as a shower in the en-suite. Bathroom products such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash was great as it was made in England and sulphate and paragon free.
The coffee machine was difficult to use though and the coffee pods didn't give us too much coffee. The staff at breakfast could have been a bit more attentive, they seemed to be more interested in feeding sausages to dogs at the other tables! and we had to ask for our coffee to be brought to the table and our extra toast never arrived. And the croissants ran out! I was really looking forward to one of those! The breakfast itself was really tasty though.

Our room was beautiful and a very good size. The village is very pretty. The pub/restaurant is well decorated with a great ambience. Lovely beer garden. Very good food.
The staff were friendly, but service let them down a bit. At breakfast, we were told to take a table but it wasn’t laid. Waitress came over twice, mumbled and disappeared before finally laying our table. She then brought us tea but no milk or sugar so I had to ask for that. The TV in our room was a bit hard to use. Couldn’t turn the volume down, without adjusting settings. One pack of biscuits in our room was already open, with a biscuit missing.

Our room (Plouver) was exceptional..So comfortable, with a fantastic bathroom. Shower & bath 🛁. Lovely toiletries too. Lovely bar area.
Too many dogs in the restaurant. Obviously, it is a dog friendly hotel/pub/restaurant, but for guests who arn't as dog friendly it wasn't as an enjoyable stay as it should have been. Disappointing. To eat your breakfast and evening meals with many dogs around you isn't that pleasant at all & made myself, partner & mother uncomfortable. Separate dining area should be offered to guests.

The room was very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and it is a very welcoming place. It has been redecorated since we last stayed and if you like big wallpaper you will love The Crown.
Everything was fine. Breakfast was delicious. We had dinner the first evening. The choice is not long but sufficient. We enjoyed our starter but our main courses were both very disappointing. My wife chose the risotto which was more like a soup. My first choice was not available so I had the goats cheese and beetroot tart. This consisted of a very thin flat layer of crispy biscuit like pastry with a gloopy layer of cheese flavoured topping with lumps of beetroot, topped with a pile of salad leaves and was not the best. The base was really difficult to cut through. We had one dessert between the two of us and that was delicious. Maybe it was our poor choice but a shame that the mains were such a let down

Staff are very professional and friendly. Very pleasant bar and peaceful comfortable seating area to read in.
Had daughters dog with us so had Little Egret room at end of January. When stayed on two previous occasions (without dog) had Yellowhammer which would have been much more convenient for OAP's who had to get up in the night to take dog out - it was very very cold outside (room inside was lovely and warm, well heated) having to go down and then back up narrow stairs through heavy firedoors in the early hours wasnt that good for 2 nights but would still return as do like the hotel and they love dogs too!
