My partner and myself stayed at western house hotel to attend the races at New Year and we both agree it was out favourite hotel stay yet. The location of the hotel was perfect for our plans but the service of the hotel was what really made our stay. We were able to check in a few hours earlier than expected which was brilliant as we could relax before we went over to the races and our room was spotless. When we ordered some room service we could not believe how quickly the staff got to our request. We also had an evening meal in the hotel and the serving staff were absolutely outstanding and the meal was delicious. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable.

The food was excellent at both breakfast and dinner in very comfortable surroundings. The room was an executive room was very comfortable and very spacious. We especially liked our view of the stables, as we could view the horses on the Ayr race day we were attending. The Bed was very comfortable and sleep was very good. We liked the slippers and my wife loved the dressing gown. The room had everything we wanted to make a good stay.

Service at dinner was very slow. We were given the menu, but not the wine list, so had to ask. When the wine list came and we ordered, it took approximately 20 minutes for the wine and glasses to be brought to the table. Similarly, when we ordered another bottle of wine and the cheese board for dessert, they had not arrived after 20 minutes. I called the waiter and told them we were leaving, as it had taken 20 minutes and the items still hadn't been provided. I did not raise my voice at any stage and the waiter told my wife I was being aggressive, but I was only questioning why it takes 20 minutes to serve a bottle of wine. It did not mar my stay at all, but such slow dinner/drink service must be able to be questioned.

Spotlessly clean, pleasant staff, right next to the racecourse. Amazing food in the restaurant although the staff who were very pleasant were very slow to take order and need to communicate with customers if they are letting the kitchen catch up, we thought we had been forgotten, fortunately the food was worth the wait. Breakfast was also good, buffet style, again staff very pleasant but not organised with who is doing what and explaining how it works. Would definitely stay again it’s a beautiful hotel in beautiful grounds. All the staff work so hard there and nothing is too much trouble, right next to the race course. Live music was a nice touch with good atmosphere.

Staff has not been organised for who is doing what in what room in the restaurant, there was often no staff in our part, it took almost 30 minutes to order because the kitchen staff were catching up, fine if we had been told we thought we had been forgotten and no staff to be seen. Breakfast we were told to get a table and help ourselves, would been been nice to of been told to ask staff if we wanted to order, or would have been nice for staff to ask. Minor things that can easily be rectified and wouldn’t put me off coming back at all.

Room was comfortable and the restaurant excellent. Every member of staff we came across was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was varied, mostly buffet but some extra items available to order.

No hand towels provided on the first night. Day 2 the used one was removed but no replacement left. Also on the second evening the bar was taken over by a loud and already inebriated wedding party. No seats and half an hour wait to be served. Hotel obviously not responsible for them BUT should have opened the other bar earlier to move them out and /or had more staff on the bar.

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Our room in the courtyard was spacious, quiet and suited us perfectly. There is loads of parking and the gardens are immaculately kept. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the food lovely and everything was great value for money. I really hope that we get the opportunity to stay again. The local area is full of history and nearby beaches are lovely.

This is being really picky however it is worth noting if you have a mobility issue that the courtyard rooms do not have a lift.

The hotel was great value for money, comfortable and accommodating. In the run up to my stay I had some requests that were met with no issue and staff were happy to help. Staying here took the stress off getting myself and my two kids to our friend's wedding nearby.

I received a call from staff regarding a noise complaint after my 4 year old had a fall in the room. While I do understand nobody wants to be kept up all night with noise after paying for a hotel stay, it was before 9pm. Although this didn't affect our stay, I felt a little on edge, telling the kids off for the slightest things.

Large spacious room. Very good room amenities. Lovely shower.

Room slightly functional, lifeless. Could do with a little bit of colour. ALSO, on arrival I confirmed with a very nice front desk lady whether it was easy to have an early check-out (around 05:45-06:00) Was assured this was no problem & 24 hour night-porter system available. I duly attempted to check-out at 05:40 but found reception doors locked. I knocked the reception doors for about 10' minutes & peered inside reception but with no joy. I left key in letterbox. I then phoned later in morning to confirm they had received my key & check-out had been successful

When I arrived there had been a mix up and my early check in had not been noted. Reception contacted housekeeping and after a short wait my room was ready. As I was booked to go to the races it was ideal as once me and my wife where ready it was out round the rear of hotel and onto racing concourse. The room I had was extremely spacious and the bed was massive, also one of the comfiest beds both me and my wife have ever slept in, great nights sleep. I will be back next time I attend Ayr racing. Great staff, great rooms great location, I will 100% be back here to stay at some point.

Very large room and shower room both adapted for disabled people. Lovely grounds, with lots of flowers. The main building was very attractive - like a stately home, with pictures, nice furniture and flowers. Really good housekeeping.

Breakfast was disappointing with no cold buffet and unimaginative hot choices sometimes overcooked, and no sausages on 2 days out of 5. Vegetarian choices in the evening very limited and actual food not what we had hoped for. The bedroom looked out onto a fence 2 metres away. Washbasin too small.

Courtyard room was good size room, fantastic big bed, and everything we could need, right down to a hot water bottle (which we didn't need as room was cosy). Room was serviced every day, even Christmas Day. Smart TV in room was great so can log in to your netflix or i- player etc. Waiting staff seemed young and hesitant but they did their best. Barstaff and reception were good.

Wasn't so keen on the buffet breakfast, some of it seemed cold, and getting tea etc was a faff, preferred the table service. Only small complaint I have is the floor in the rooms above us were terribly squeaky and ever time person above walked across room, which they did frequently, the lampshade in our rattled like crazy.
