Have stayed at the Riverside Hotel on three occasion and have always been happy with both the accommodation and food. will be staying in the near future. Use the Hotel as a stopping point on return from visiting friend in Oban

A large wedding was taking place at the hotel so between reception turnover the bar area was extremely busy. Breakfast experience on 1st morning wasn't the best. We appreciated there was a large wedding party. No dining tables available, queue was extremely long and a long wait for breakfast. No cups, tea bags, cutlery etc. Eventually replenished. Not the most relaxing time, however the next day was much better. Second evening not much choice of alcoholic beverages at the bar, as the beer chiller had broken there was no draught options, therefore other stock on beers etc were low

rooms and cleaners were great had noproblems when asking for extra milk and teabag also towels.

we stayed bed and breakfast, roome an service staff were great the kitchen lets the team downor waiting staff? for not seeing when food dishes are empty and need refilling, ie two mornings out of six no eggs, ran out of mugs these are the small thing that make the difference between a good stay in a hotel or a great stay please folks pay mor attention to detail as thats where your slipping up; just so you know ive been a chef formaly trained since i was 16 im now 69 so i do know a little bit about hotels and the hard work most staff put into there jobs

Apart from reception when we checked in everything was great. All other staff warm, friendly and professional. Receptionist gave no welcome and seemed bored. The bar area lovely and we enjoyed a couple of cocktails. Breakfast provided a good selection and the cooked aspect was lovely. The room was nicely decorated and had a bath, which is so rare these days. Guests considerate, so no noise in the corridors. Bed comfy. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Just what we needed after a 9hr journey. Hotel situated on what looks like a housing estate. As dark when we arrived we did not see any water and our room outlook was of houses. Having said that once inside the hotel that was all forgotten. Near for ferry to Arran which was why we chose it. Had a lovely but brief stay.

Lady at reception. No welcome, greeting, enquiry re journey etc. Felt we were a nuisance for checking in, Considering she is the first impression of the hotel, suggest some additional training. The chap on reception at check out was exactly what you need. Lively, vibrant, full of energy. Clearly enjoys his work.

The reasons I book this hotel are :- We love the size of the rooms. the facilities in the room, plenty of electric sockets which are well placed for charging phones etc. Pet friendly. plenty of towels and shower products. extra pillows. friendly staff. Easy drive from my home. Menu which has a good choice of food for Lunch, snack and evening meal. Love the buffet breakfast, which is served until 1000hrs. Plenty of parking spaces, near the entrance.

Bathrooms are good with plenty of shower and soap products ,but could be refreshed, decor wise, but all facilities worked.

Very well kept and presented from outside, walking in we were very happy with how lovely it looked and the layout. Checked in by a lovely member of staff and gave our room keycard. She also explained where bar/ restaurant etc was. We went to our room and had a nice view. The bed was so comfortable and big. Plenty tea coffee and biscuits etc. and bathroom had shower gel/shampoo etc to use. We had a great nice sleep and a fab breakfast in the morning.

Only thing that wasnt so much as a dislike but made me mark it down was it wasnt a walk in shower u had to climb into bath to have a shower which felt a bit closed in but this wouldnt stop us coming back again.

The food was perfect , all the staff were absolutely great happy and really helpful .

The only thing that let the hotel down was the stairs opposite room 240 for the fire escapes,vacuum cleaners blocking doors so they could not be opened properly also in need of a dam good clean, that is not good in the case of a fire, the area around the back of the kitchens. Not tidy at all, if the staff was told to crush the boxes before putting them in the skip you would save a fortune also not blow about the yard . The skip is 80% full of fresh air. It's little things that don't cost a fortune that you need to do , take five minutes and look for yourself as a guest.

The home has had a bit of a makeover since the last time we visited in 2021 and looks really nice. We stayed on a dinner bed and breakfast basis and the food was lovely. The dinner menu was a bit limited but we found plenty to eat. The breakfast was a buffet breakfast and had plenty of choice.

The service was very slow. When our starter plates were being collected we ordered another drink to have with our main meal however this didn't arrive for quite a while after we had finished our dinner even though we had asked at least twice of how long it was going to take to arrive. I appreciate the hotel was busy as it had a wedding on however it was clear that there was an insufficient number of staff to accommodate the amount of guests.

The staff was exceptional, personable, friendly, and helpful. From the front desk to wait staff to housekeeping, not one negative. The reception area, bar area, and restaurant were beautifully decorated, clean, and modern.

Our room was large, but a bit dated. Still extremely clean, well stocked, and the towels were luxurious. My daughter's smaller room was updated, so maybe our larger room will come in time. Our bed was comfortable, so it was a very slight negative.

Lovely entrance room was nice with couple of little issues but did not spoil our stay. Had evening meal which was amazing staff lovely . Breakfast was well catered for too. Loved the koi carp .

Two small things re room wall next to one of beds had torn paper but no big deal and carpet beside chair needs cleaned. There was a wedding reception on which made the entrance noisy would have been nice to have a small residents bar away from the guests at wedding. These are our observation but would still come back as loved overall stay.
