The bed was really comfy - best night's sleep away from home I've had in a while! (Although I did need both pillows myself so extras may be needed if 2 people share) Only about 5-10 minute drive from big shops which helps as breakfast wasn't included (I knew this when booking so wasn't an issue for me) and is also next door to a restaurant making it easy to find somewhere to grab a meal. Good value for money compared to other places that charge the same price for smaller rooms.

Could maybe do with a written notice on the door about checking in - you need to either pop in the restaurant next door (Olive) or call them on the number provided on here (that process wasn't immediately obvious when booking). Other than that I think maybe a bit of soundproofing between the walls wouldn't go amiss as I could hear people talking in the next room and could hear their TV when my room's window was open. These were quite minor things though and I would definitely come back!

Loved the location. Nice quiet estate, even tho you're right next to the main road the rooms in The Lodge are nice and quiet. The room was spacious and well maintained, the staff were absolutely amazing.

Only thing that let's it done, and its not a deal breaker for me, was lack of pillows. I dont like lying flat when trying to sleep, I get some people might, but when I asked the cleaner for a couple more pillows she told me they didn't stock spares. But amazingly went out her way to go find me 2 more clean ones I could use for my short stay.

The room me and my husband stayed in was so SO relaxing!! Just what we needed away from our children. The rooms was spacious with a big tv. The bath was amazing to use, provided with products to use.. So peaceful. We also ate in the restaurant which was 10 stars!! Just what we needed. Decent meal, decent room for the perfect price. Will 100% be retuning on a regular basis. Thank you.

There was nothing we didn't like.

It was perfectly located for visiting family in the area and the price was exceptional. Bedding and pillows were comfortable and clean. On site parking very helpful.

Both beds in the twin were very squeaky and felt wobbly. The bath sealant was coming off and it all just looked a bit tired. There was hand soap which was excellent but weirdly only a conditioner and no shampoo or shower gel. Tbh though this place is good value for money. If you just need a cheap bed it's perfect.

I think communication for what happens for check in and check out times. I wasn’t sure where to check in and walked into the lodge unsure what to do. I also wasn’t sure what to do with the key at check out as no one told me and I realised that the olive tree doesn’t open until 12. Luckily I was coming to visit family so I went to hers until after 12 and came back to sort it out.

Walls probably need a lick of paint. Old picture and mirror hooks need removing from the walls, and an old coffee cup ring in the varnish on the table. Did it bother me? Of course not! The place was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom looked like it had recently been refurbished. The staff in the adjoining bar and grill were very friendly and very helpful. Very good VFM.

Some dust/cobwebs need removing from some high spots on the walls.

Restaurant was great and the staff very helpful and welcoming. Rooms very clean and tidy. Beds very comfy Could do with a refurb in rooms but then very cheap so can't really complain. Was value for money

Rooms in the main building above restaurant look onto a very busy road into Doncaster and windows don't keep sound out, lorries and cars constantly after about 5/6am so couldn't sleep after that. Recommended asking to be actually in 'The lodge' was very quiet there

The room was a good size and had all we needed. The lad behind the bar was friendly and efficient. The bar area was clean and bright. The food that we had was nice.

The drinks prices seemed a little OTT. A breakfast option would have been nice. One of the beds was harder than the other. I was ok in this but it was no good for the wife. The location was the wrong side of Doncaster for me but that is a personal thing.

price more than reasonable, accomodation with free parking space , very clean , quiet , wouldn't be fair to expect 5* accomodation in 2* or 3* hotel. More than happy to spend a night there and recomend to everybody to stay there - very high standard for fair price

Very quiet area, comfy bed, good value for money

Checkout is 10am, however at around 8.45am I thought I heard a knock at the door but wasn't sure so I ignored it. The next minute I had somebody trying the door, I had to shout out there was somebody in the room!! Think there could be a better way of checking out so the cleaners know when a room is empty and ready to clean!!
