Location on the edge of town, by the railway station. I later discovered that the hotel had been used as a base by the painter L. S. Lowery. That appealed to me. I did like the ambience of the hotel, and the staff were very pleasant. My room with bathroom was comfortable, and I couldn’t fault the cleanliness.

Breakfast finished at 9.15am. A bit early for me. Also I had booked breakfast included, but discovered on arrival that if I wanted a cooked ‘English’ breakfast, it was at extra cost. However the cost was extremely reasonable and choice was customised.

The location right by the train station was superb. I thought the breakfast was tasty and the service was quick and friendly.

The room door lock was unique and perplexing to me. That was my fault because clear written instructions were in the room and I didn't notice them until after panicking when I thought I'd locked myself in. Please be smarter than I was and consult the instructions. I didn't plan on lugging my suitcase up the stairs, again this is on me but it might be helpful to others to know in advance that there is no lift.

We needed a hotel for one night as our kids were playing rugby in the town the next day. This was the only place we could find that allowed pets. And boy, did they make us, and our two dogs, feel welcome. We had a family suite which had everything you could ask for and three extremely comfy and clean beds. A separate bathroom with a shower and a bath. It was perfect. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food, though nothing fancy, was absolutely delicious.

There was internet available but it was poor given the distance of our rooms from the router. The continental breakfast was good, I’d have preferred the option of a cooked breakfast included in the price of the room but wasn’t prepared to pay over £8 each for that. Also the electric shower in our bathroom was very underpowered.

The room , staff , and cooked breakfast were absolutely fine and a good choice. The sound proofing worked well,given that the rooms are on top of a busy local bar.

I only stayed one night, on a sem:i business trip, and met friends In a very lively local bar that forms part of the hotel. The reason for this, is we couldn't find a quieter guest lounge to use(I may have missed it). The other thing, I tried to order coffee for my friends, but only instant coffee was available. These are just minor grumbles, generally I was. very happy with the hotel.

I stayed with 2 large dogs (lurcher and basset hound) this was our second time staying at the hotel due to how welcome we are all made to feel. Check in was quick and pain free staff made a fuss over the dogs. My lurcher is very dog reactive but that was not an issue and was treat the same as any other dog which is rare and very nice to see. The room was warm clean and modern and the shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast was served in the small room next to reception due to having the dogs, this is a great idea and much better than eating in the bar as we did on my previous stay. We’ll definitely keep coming back!

Good location for visitors seeing by rail and close to local bus stops. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good supply of water, tea, coffee and little biscuits on hospitality tray.

Restaurant not open every evening. Wasn’t aware of limited opening times when I booked. Limited clothes hanging space (no wardrobe, just wall mounted hanging rail). Not a problem for me (I travel light) but others may think otherwise. Not used to having to specify what time I’d like breakfast. Limits flexibility. Bit of road noise…

The room was great - large and comfortable. Very comfy beds and an excellent shower/bathroom. Breakfast was substantial and tasty. The bar was also large, light and very pleasant, with open fires. Service was great at all times. Very good location for a visit to lovely Berwick on Tweed. We had two dogs with us and I don't think I've ever come across a more dog-friendly hotel - the staff made it so easy.

The hotel was not doing food on one night we were there - I'm not sure why. It would have been helpful to know this earlier!

The room was spacious yet cosy with a lovely large window with a view of the Victorian train station and viaduct. The bathroom was modern and sleek with a very nice shower. Access to netflix was appreciated on rainy days! The staff were delightful and very helpful. The bar downstairs was warm, cosy and comfortable, and the food was excellent (breakfast and dinner!).

The only caveat was the 10 minute walk to the town centre which normally wouldn't be an issue but unfortunately we were plagued by rain!

Very pleasant staff, nothing was too much bother. There is no lift but the staff couldn't do enough to take our luggage upstairs as we r both disabled. Breakfasts were very enjoyable, we actually had them brought up into the room which we appreciated very much. Tell Michelle to keep taking her porridge for our next visit. Also thank Julie and cook for meals.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like. Bar staff all five star especially when we had table service from them. We will be back 👍

The staff were wonderful and each one I met catered to my every need and easily extended my stay in the same room. I was ill and this was greatly appreciated!!!! Location is perfect for train travellers.

The entry doors are locked until 11 a.m. or noon so it is difficult for someone to come to pick one up or visit in the mornings. I did like being ill but that has nothing to do with the hotel. I only hope I didn’t keep other guests awake by my coughing fits or that I passed on what I had to anyone.
