Gorgeous grounds. The drive towards the hotel reminds me of Harlaxton Manor in Grantham. Loads of parking, clean and very well kept grounds. I didnt opt for any food at all. The room has a bottle of water, mugs, kettle, sugar, tea/coffee and buscuits to offer. Bathroom was clean and very well kept. FYI, alot of weddings are held here so you may sometimes see group photos and wedding based activity going on around the hotel but its actually not really an issue.

No air con in the room. Its been 30c plus the last few days or so and the room was baking. There is a fan in the cupboard which we used but it really didnt help. That was our ONLY nit pick.

The receptionist Beth was so welcoming and thoughtful. We booked a suite and Beth upgraded us to the Bridal suite, which was lovely as it was our special silver wedding anniversary. We had our wedding venue there 25 years ago! Michel (Italian barman) was very attentive and friendly arranged a special desert plate when we had dinner. All staff were friendly and a great asset to the hotel.

Breakfast was cooked perfectly. However we paid more as we hadn’t pre booked breakfast online. Tea /coffee wasn’t shown on the menu but also added to the bill. So £40 bill was a shock for 2 breakfasts?

I've stayed at this hotel half a dozen times now and it's never disappointed me. It used to be my school when I was in 6th form, so to see what was a fairly neglected, but beautiful, old building resorted to how it is now, is brilliant. The decor in bedrooms and common areas is stunning, as are the grounds. But what makes this a truly great stay are the staff. Massive shout out to receptionist Jade who is always super friendly, professional and accommodating. All front desk staff are. The bar team are brilliant too, you feel welcome and looked after. I've brought a number of friends for stays too and all have said the same – one of the best hotel experiences they've had. We'll be back.

We only stayed for one night and didn’t explore much around the hotel. The area was quiet, green and pleasant. We found the bed comfortable, our room appeared to be clean and the receptionist was friendly & helpful. I enjoyed the Rituals shampoo and hair conditioner provided by the hotel. He thought that the price was reasonable for the area and service received.

Nothing really. The only issue we run into was only one towel for two guests, but I imagine it was a genuine mistake. The bar area didn’t have much of an atmosphere, but that’s very common in accommodations of this kind.

the room was spacious , quiet with fantastic rituals bathroom amenities, large smart tv, plenty of desk space, good selection of tea & coffee. the staff were exceptional , a special mention to Jade on reception who took on board I was tired from my long journey and when I requested a room with a bath if possible , she went away and checked if a room was available and moved my room with total grace. she was very attentive without being intrusive. she is a real asset to the hotel and this coming from a Hilton Sales Manager !! then the restaurant manager who again his service was fantastic . wish I was here longer

Delighted by the clean spacious room, garden view, grounds and delicious meals. The omelette Arnold Bennett for breakfast was a real yum! A very warm welcome with a fuss made of our chihuahuas, and staff throughout were excellent. This is a treat of a hotel that felt like a holiday, without any pretensions.

The heating in the room was on a fixed setting, which was fine in the day but too hot at night so we had to have the windows open - not very environmentally friendly and still too warm. Food service aside from breakfast was a little slow, but worth waiting for at least.

the hotel was beautiful, lounge, bar and outside was great. Its big and cozy hotel. Staff were polite, lovely. Room was nice, i loved the shower and the view of the woods. I enjoyed my cosmopolitan drink from the bar and enjoyed the chilled out evening in the lounge. I will definitely visit again.

from my observation the downside of the hotel was the location of my room, which had the gym below and a basketball court outside the bedroom side. Noise level of the music from the gym and when someone was playing basketball early morning it disturbed my sleep. Bedroom doors were constantly slamming waking me up which was disturbing. For such a hotel I expected bath robes to be available, possibly slippers, still water bottle and hooks to hang the towels used, as there was only one.

Everything about this hotel was absolutely perfect. Lovely quintessential English style and class. Beautiful house and grounds with modern style and comfort, gym and more. Staff were professional, welcoming, efficient and just lovely. There were events but you didn't really notice, a well oiled machine. Puppy was more than welcome and got a few fusses... It was a pleasure to stay here and I look forward to my next stay

Not having enough time to enjoy the facilities or the grounds fully.

The hotel staff's services were exceptional! Before arrival, they communicated well for my dinner booking. During my stay, they had kindly arrange return trip of taxi bookings so as to save loads of hassles! They were also very accommodating, since we needed to dine at the non-lunch hours, they served us good food at bar so that we were being well taken care of before heading to an important occasion! The room we booked was Mansion House Suite, it's exactly like what was described and there was a swing installed inside the room which my kid loved it much!

Very nice hotel, staff were very friendly, the room I booked wasn't allocated to me but the staff moved me to the room I was expecting as soon as I told them.

The only thing I didn't like was that although the hotel is recently refurbished/ renovated it doesn't feel very well maintained. The AC in the first room was barely working, the dimmer switch in the other room was temperamental. All lamps were indvidually controlled. But thesebare tiny issues overall it's very nice and very good value for many
