The feeling you get at Ranscombe house from the minute you arrive is that this is a warm and friendly place and that much attention to detail has gone into creating that. We were met by host Pip who showed us around and made sure we knew we could contact him if there was anything we needed. Toffees in the hallway, two small but comfortable lounge areas downstairs, hot drinks in the bedroom, an honesty bar in the dining room and an invitation to make ourselves at home, were all appreciated. We had a very clean room with the most comfortable bed and lovely bedding. Walking in to the room to a sea view at sunset was magical as was waking up to it in the morning. …As was starting the day with a, beautifully cooked to order, large choice hot breakfast and accompanying choices of cereals etc.. We were also really impressed with how warm, thoughtful, kind and friendly the two members of staff we met at breakfast, Jo and Grant, were too. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Sensitive too to some of us not being very awake in the morning. They both appeared as if they enjoyed their work and genuinely want you to relax and enjoy your stay. The B&B is very well situated. An easy walk into town and the harbour, yet quiet enough to hear the birds in the morning. A huge bonus was the off road car park and as Pip warned us about parking under the bird tree, the car stayed clean and safe there. Should we return to Brixham we would most definitely stay at Ranscombe House. Thank you.

We we greeted at the door by our host, and shown to our room, it was explained that the kitchen would like to know our breakfast choice the night before. This was so that it t was freshly prepared when we were ready for it. ie. it was not delivered to our table until we had finished eating the cereal. The food was nicely presented, the eggs were done to perfection, still just runny! There was information in the room giving names of local eateries where an evening meal could be purchased. The location was close enough to be able to walk the harbour and town center. The building had an interesting history with a nautical connection. This establishment would be top of the list if a stop over in the locality was needed.

We arrived by car and were able to leave the car in the hotel car park well ahead of checkin to go and explore the town. Very useful as parking in Brixham can be a nightmare. Pip, the owner was very welcoming at checkin. We booked a very short notice so had the last room available and were delighted with it - including the sea view! The bed was superb with high quality bedding, good pillows and a nicely fitted bathroom. Breakfast was the best I have had in a long time - quite superb! After checkout we were able to leave the car in the car park for a few hours more that was really appreciated. It is a great base for Brixton, just a 2 minute walk to the harbour - but it is hilly. Highly recommended and we will definitely return.

Don't park under the big tree in the car park - the birds make a mess on your car!

Everything was perfect from the moment we stepped in the door Pip was fantastic. Very friendly & helpful. We pulled up onto his drive early at 10am. He welcomed us straight away & let us park there until our room was ready Room was absolutely amazing! Beautiful view with a balcony. Most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Very spacious room & bathroom also fab 👌 Breakfast was lovely. So much variety for cereals. There was also yogurts, nuts & seeds which we loved. Cooked breakfast was well cooked & presented beautifully. Large selection of juices & hot drinks. All the staff where so friendly. Happy to talk with you & advise on places to go. Will definitely be returning We would definitely rate this 5*

This was a lovely house tucked away in Brixham. We stayed in the 'bunk room' and although it is small, I would say it was cosy! The room was lovely, comfy beds, plenty of plug sockets, and tea and coffee making facilities! We also had the use of a living room with a TV as an added extra due to the room being on the smaller side. There was adequate parking and was a short walk downhill to the town center. Unfortunatly we didnt get to enjoy the breakfast as we had to set off early for a charity walk but there is nothing to make me think that the breakfast would be anything less than great!

Loved the Admiral Suite so relaxing, lovely waking up to view of the sea. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony. Pip and all the staff were attentive, friendly, and very welcoming. Lovely breakfast, excellent options, and choice of teas and coffees from the coffee machine. Free wi fi and parking. Excellent location to all restaurants, bars, and local attractions. Garden to relax and enjoy a drink. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Great location with parking in Brixham. Pip, the host, is amazing, so friendly and helpful, we felt like we'd known him for ages! Breakfast was fantastic and so well-organised. A great stay with an amazing atmosphere - a real home-away-from-home. I miss evenings on the terrace with Pip and other guests - a great way to relax after dinner in Brixham, which has a fabulous array of quality restaurants.

Having to leave....

We were met at the door by Pip the owner he was friendly and made us very welcome. Our room was so very comfortable fresh and clean called offshore. Breakfast was ordered the night before so cooked to order. That was superb and a great coffee machine in the dining area. It would be an amazing place for a family function as you can hire out the whole house. In the summer there is a fabulous flat garden and there is easy access to the harbour front. Excellent B&B . Good parking. Thank you Pip.

A friendly welcome and check-in, clean, comfortable room, tasty, freshly cooked breakfast (with a surprisingly wide selection of items), cheerful, friendly and efficient staff. Well fitted and appointed public areas too. Close to the harbour, marina and town centre in easy walking distance but just far enough up the hill to avoid most of the noise. We will certainly return the next time we visit Brixham.

Nothing! As it is a grand old (Victorian?) building there might be some issues for people with limited mobility gaining access to some rooms, so it would be advisable to check when booking, but I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely comfortable room. Very good location, ten minutes walk to the harbour although slightly longer coming back up the hill! I’m not a fit person but managed it! Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again but would probably go for a sea view room.

Nothing much to note though if I was being picky I would say the water pressure in the shower wasn’t brilliant, by no means a dealbreaker though.
