Great stay here. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was nice and as I came in off-season there was no designated time slots which others had written about; also as it was quiet I had the pool to myself twice which was amazing and plenty of space in car park. Bar area was also very inviting. Great location near town and beach etc. Lovely single room. I had a great stay here. Would recommend.

Bizarrely when I came down for breakfast on the first day I arrived at the same time as a young couple and despite the restaurant being ginormous they sat me right beside them. We were the only ones there so I was pretty much on top of their conversation which was awkward for all of us as they felt they couldn't particularly speak and I didn't really want to be part of their chat but almost didn't have an option. Letting people choose their seats would be better or at least have one table in between. And I don't mind background music at breakfast but the hotel had the radio on with all the usual tosh that comes with that which was very invasive. Separately the shower was very weak. Apart from these comments I actually loved my stay here.

The room was very clean and warm. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower pressure was very good. The staff were all very friendly, the housekeeping team do a very good job and service the rooms daily.

Nothing not to like really, for what you pay it is very good value for money. My only slight negative is I prefer a buffet style breakfast especially for cereal, toast, croissants and fruit items. This is all served to your table which i'm not a fan of, although this is just a personal opinion.

Lovely fresh and clean, friendly staff and nothing was to much trouble. Room was fresh looking plenty of lighting. Wardrobe and chest of drawers to used. Plenty of room for your stuff.Room for my Walker in the room, and it had space to put it when not in use over night so wasn't a trip hazard. Hairdryer available in room. Tea,coffee etc. (You could ask for more milk if needed from reception area). In room to so handy to relax before going to the entertainment in evening. A few games of bingo and then entertainment singer etc. Which nice if you just want to chill in the evening if been out most of the day. Breakfast was lovely too. Had a choice you order food and can choice pot of coffee or tea. Nice start to the day. Lovely soft fresh towels.Near to the shops and the train station. Also near to the beach. Its a disabled friendly hotel which not many are this is the second time at the Queens so I know I could manage my days out. Also around the hotel. Bar staff was great too, helping carry my drink to the table. Nice bar plenty of room to walk around also have a small dance floor so you can have a boogie if you wanted too. Parking spaces but limited but more than normal availability. What not to like. Even other guest was easy to get on with.

Home time.

The hotel is nicely situated near to town centre and beach with free parking if you arrive early Staff were friendly and helpful especially the bar staff also a nice patio area at the front with seating The breakfast was adequate could have done with a self service area for cereals pastries etc

The room was very small not enough space as a small table/ chest of drawers was right by the door very difficult for ladies doing hair/ makeup etc It was very warm could have done with a fan also as our room was situated above the kitchen and tradesmen entrance it was very noisy from 5-0clock in the morning

Great facilities with free parking, swimming pool, lovely bar and lounge areas, bar prices on a par with normal pub prices, great friendly and helpful staff in all areas and good nightly entertainment. Great location with an easy flat walk to town and beaches. Bed was very comfortable and food very nice with good choices. This was our second visit and we will definitely be returning.

Bathroom could do with being updated to a shower cubicle rather than a bath shower mixer tap with shower curtain. Filler was coming loose on bathroom floor. However, I believe that some updating is taking place and would expect that this will be addressed.

Stayed here loads of times. At the moment there isn’t anywhere else in Paignton that I would want to stay, The Queens Hotel has it all. Staff are superb. Nice and clean. Entertainment is a fantastic bonus. The biggest recommendation I can give is that I keep coming back every year, there isn’t a better place to stay in Paignton.

Only thing that I think could be improved is the quality of the mattress on the double beds, way to soft, it’s been this way for years, most of the quests are the older generation and we need slightly firmer beds. But, apart from that, the hotel is perfect.

Great central location in paighton. Excellent staff, very friendly and made our stay very enjoyable. The food was excellent, plentiful & well presented. Waiting staff very quick and friendly. Clean beds, housekeeping excellent. We really enjoyed our stay. Our grandson loved the swimming pool and the pool table. Free parking was a bonus. The hotel was all trimmed up for Christmas with lots of people arriving to enjoy turkey & tinsel breaks.

We stayed in a family room number 208. It was clean & tidy., however a bit compact and ready for decorating.

The staff were so welcoming the minute we walked in through the front door! Which was so lovely even with my 3 year old daughter.

The only down side to our stay was the layout of the bedroom. Myself and my husband didn’t sleep well due to the single bed my daughter slept in was right beside the door which made us a little paranoid we would of preferred the double and single swapped round so we were next to the door instead. And the only other issue we had was I think for any family with a young child would be to have a room further away from the entertainment hall, we were situated right above it and although it was lovely listening to the live music my little one couldn’t settle until gone 11pm due to how loud it was in our room.

2nd visit for me and my 3 year old. The pool is fabulous, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff are super friendly. The breakfast is nice too, very accommodating of the 3 year olds fussy palette! Perfect base, next to the beach, close to shops and restaurants. I actively seek this hotel every time I look at going to Paignton, (which is only an hour on the train from my home so the stay isnt actually necessary) purely cos I like staying there! Will no doubt be back again.

Having a 3 year old with me we couldn't go to the bar and enjoy the live entertainment as she needed to get to bed but the music kept her awake as it could be heard throughout the building. Not an issue if you aren't worried about an early night though :)

A good full English breakfast, served quickly by very pleasant staff in a comfortable, air conditioned restaurant. It was nice to have use of a lift as the room was on the second floor. The room was very well furnished, spacious, with en-suite bathroom, and clean. Check-in and check-out was very simple and I also had no issue with parking in the hotel's private car park.

The curtains at the window of the room did not close particularly well. a blackout blind would be a "nice to have" so that the light did not disturb what was a comfortable sleep. Having a room on the front of the hotel did mean quite a lot of noise with people gathering in the front courtyard early morning (having arrived on a fairly hot day and needing to have the windows open to cool the room, otherwise this would not have been an issue).
