Breakfast although not included in the price of room was delicious Location was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Stairs to the loft room were steep. Disappointing that it was difficult to see out the windows

This is an old property which has been conserved with care and good taste. The location is very close to the opera house - so ideal if you are going there for an evening. There is a charming sitting room available for guests to use to relax and read or admire the view of the opera house and adjacent park. There is a grand piano there although we cannot vouch that it can be played! It is right in the centre of the town. The tea rooms were quite a luxury for those who like cake! There was a nice range of freshly prepared breakfasts available from 9am onward, apparently for most of the day.
I arrived under the impression that the property had its own parking, but it does not. Although parking seems to be available nearby most of the time this is a bit of a problem at peak times like saturday afternoon. The hosts were very helpful with this issue. There are quite a lot of stairs up to the rooms which might be a problem for some guests.

It's a lovely, surprising place to stay, fabulous tearooms, (we bought an amazing breakfast here) but it feels like a big house, elegant stone staircase and landings and lounge. We stayed in 'The Dome' at the top. Very quirky, lovely touches, very comfy bed and a proper teapot with biscuits. Fancy toiletries and lots of space. Do note that if tall you will be ducking under doors and beams all the time :) and the staircase up to it is steep and narrow! We were able to park opposite and contact was immediate and helpful when we were delayed by traffic and rang the shop (we had expected to arrive during opening hours.)
We loved everything! I hadn't thought arrival time through properly so (obviously not like a hotel with all hours reception) so think ahead in case you're out of hours and they will advise accordingly.

Really friendly staff. The room was spacious with a separate seating area and lovely big bathroom. Very nice bodywash and bubble bath in the bathroom which was a nice touch. Exceptional clean and well decorated throughout. Had a selection of hot drinks in the room and some biscuits and an iron and hairdryer. It's position is excellent, very close to the opera house and nice cafes and restaurants.
The room was located at the top of the building so had 3 flights of stairs and last one was extremely steep and narrow and would not suit anyone with mobility problems or with young children. You had to duck in some areas as the room was in the eaves. This didn't worry us but would be more of an issue if very tall. I think breakfast should be included in the price as it was £130.

Lovely tearooms with friendly staff. Great location in the centre of Buxton opposite the Opera House. The room was a good size and tastefully decorated in keeping with the age of the property. The room had all the facilities we would expect and the bed was very comfortable.
Unfortunately, we were moved to The Crescent room from the original room we booked due to an 'admin error' and were not informed that this room is the designated fire escape for the top floor. The fire door was tastefully hidden behind a curtain, however there is a light on the ceiling which we didn't realise until we turned out the lights, gives a green hue to the room, a bit like a night light! Fortunately this didn't disturb our sleep but future guests should be aware of this and the fact that if the fire alarm goes off, there may be other guests entering their room to escape a fire or indeed a false alarm!

The Tea Rooms ooze character and charm and it felt such a treat to stay there. The bed was really comfortable and the huge bathroom with its gorgeous geranium scented soap and fluffy towels added a touch of luxury. Location is perfect - opposite the Opera House and only a 5 minute walk to the gallery we were attending an event at.
The windows aren’t double glazed so a little drafty. The main lights were bright but the side lights insufficient. Also - just aesthetically, the TV felt imposing and would have worked better on a cabinet (as I say, aesthetics!) £153 without breakfast seemed pricey although not for Buxton and it was a Xmas treat to ourselves!

The property was very clean and spacious and we liked the high ceilings. It had a comfortable lounge, well equipped kitchen, good sized bathroom and a nice shower. The apartment has a great location a few minutes walk from the High Street and directly across the road from the Opera House.
Parking is on street and you have to make sure you pay and display. Our car was vandalised - a wing mirror broken off - while parked outside overnight. We were at a loss to explain this - we did not feel at all unsafe when walking about during the day or at night. The car was parked under a CCTV camera and hopefully this will reveal what occurred.

The room was beautifully proportioned. There was a large, comfortable bed, two armchairs and a table, a dressing table, wardrobe and bookcase and room to walk around everything. The downpour shower was well powered and the water warm, and the supplied shower gel and hand soap very good quality. There's also a residents lounge with piano. The building has many of its original features such as the fireplaces, sash windows and two flights of stone stairs. Downstairs are the tearooms, where you can get breakfast - they also serve food all day up to a pre-theatre meal. Very handily placed for the Opera House and Pavillion.

We really enjoyed being in the centre of beautiful Buxton. Also coming back to an immaculately clean an tidy flatlet each afternoon. The staff were very helpful and obliging.
The claim that there was parking on site was misleading; in fact there was on-street parking outside and opposite but there were often no spaces. For example, upon arrival we were obliged to park on The Slopes and wheel our cases quite a long (and steep) way which wasn't easy - or welcome after a long drive.

The location couldn't have been any better. The accommodation is right in the very middle of everything. We were worried about parking facilities but we didn't need to worry - we put £2.50 in the meter every 4 hours and parked almost outside. Plenty of parking. The accommodation was spotless, the staff so helpful and friendly and, with the tea rooms downstairs, there's food available from 9am to 5pm if you need it. So many restaurants and bars to visit. Lots of walking opportunities too. We visited the Opera House which is right outside. Perfect.
