The Blind Bull is in a great location, close to many other attractions, or perfect just to sit and chill, and enjoy the surroundings. The room we stayed in was exceptional, and very well thought out in terms of the best use of the space available. The staff were very welcoming, and exceptionally welcoming with dogs.

There was very little that we found to be considered 'negatives' as it is such a lovely place. Just a couple of little things really. A mini fridge in the room would have come in very useful for the fresh milk. A power socket by the long mirror would have been useful. A luggage rack would be a good idea. it would stop people putting their cases on the bed or coffee tables.

Location is very remote surrounded by sheep in fields, the decor is superb, dinner is awesome.

We almost didn’t get dinner as we assumed guests would not need to reserve a table for dinner. Thankfully after mentioning it was our wedding anniversary and a special weekend they found us a spot. This is so remote there is no option for plan B. At check in we were wrongly informed breakfast was not included with our room so we made other plans, at checkout we were offered our inclusive breakfast, some confusion but we got breakfast. Breakfast itself was laughable, of the 4 options one was unavailable I had the cooked breakfast which could have fitted into a single slice of bread folded over. Don’t expect to walk far on that.

Once in a while one lands on a genuine gem of a hotel. This is certainly one. An enormous amount of care and hard work has gone into its refurbishment and ethos. The room we had was beautifully laid out with everything you might need. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom excellent. The highest praise must be for the staff and the food. The food is simply outstanding. Innovative, creative but not at all fussy and above all delicious. The staff seem to share a joint passion for the place and what it stands for. Impeccable.

Absolutely nothing

Staff in the pub/restaurant were all, without exception, excellent - couldn't be more accommodating. Everyone was also very understanding about one of our dogs, who is very excitable and a bit of a barker! The food was absolutely delicious, particularly the vegetarian options, so much so we ate in the restaurant both nights and then enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast before we left. It was also really nice to talk to the chef, who came out for a chat with us after our first meal. Loved his very friendly dog too! Our room was also very comfortable, beautifully clean and all new fixtures and fittings. We will definitely be back for our next hiking trip to the Peaks!

Nothing - couldn't fault this place.

The rooms are new and stylishly finished - they are really spacious and the bathrooms / showers in particular are superb. We were unlucky to go on a Monday as the pub/restaurant was closed and we would have liked to try it, (it looks like it will be great) but will do so the next time we are in the region. The establishment is in the countryside, which we really enjoyed, but we had to drive to the next village to get lunch / dinner, so that should be taken into account when booking. All in all, this is a superb place to stay in the Peak District and we will certainly be back when we have more time.

Not much!

The room was absolutely beautiful and done to a very high standard.

After switching off the lights, the room was lit up by the smoke alarm light. This wasn't just a little, I could almost read by the flipping thing. It's high up on the ceiling, so you can't cover it over either. It really affected my sleep.

Nice room was decorated well, pub was nice and drinks reasonably priced.

Tea and coffee tray - had 2 tea bags, small cups and had to get milk left by bedroom door in morning so couldn't have a drink in afternoon when checked in Room very open plan other half was watching me in shower from lounge - not for couples with boundaries or friends 🤣

This is an absolute gem of a place. We had Sunday lunch which was the best we’d eaten in a very long time. We stayed overnight in the Mini Pig - a beautifully furnished room, coffee machine etc and a patio area which was great as we had our dog with us. Breakfast was just as good as lunch. Amazing range of options to choose from including great coffee and freshly squeezed juice. And to top it off is the location-it’s nestled in a beautiful quiet hamlet with far reaching views over the valley but still close to attractions and towns

The Blind Bull is a little out-of-the -way. Make the effort because it is worth it. A stunning property in a beautiful location combined with an extremely talented brigade de cuisine serving local cuisine, ably assisted by helpful front of staff allow the ‘pub’ to rise well above the ordinary. Try the Arnold Bennett Omelette for breakfast-exquisite.

Quite simply, one of the most wonderful places I've ever stayed in. The rooms are brand new, spatious, comfortable and quiet. The food is simply sublime. I cannot rate this place highly enough.

The ONLY criticism, is that it is in the middle of nowhere. But the benefits of the Blind Bull completely make you forget!
