The most hospitable hotel ive ever stayed in , on arrival my mum wasnt well and the 2 young female staff on at the bar were so lovely about it. The room was spot on with a lovely large bed , lovely and clean inc bathroom that was stocked with all you need - even female hygiene products which i never see made available , the room was crammed with complimentary drinks and the extras Rich the owner added for the birthdays girls was way above expection. He also then rustled up a meal made up of safer foods to eat to help my mum feel better. Will be back same time next year . Fab! And to top it off beautiful location next door to the cathedral.

Nothing - all was fab!

We had a delightful one-night stay at The George Inn. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with the added bonus of complimentary refreshments. The pub itself has undergone a lovely transformation under new ownership. Rich and his team create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Their friendly service is exceptional. The pub's secret courtyard is a hidden gem that deserves to be showcased more. Tideswell is a charming village, and The George Inn is the perfect base to explore the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Thanks to Rich and his team for their hospitality.

We stayed at the George for one night on 18th July. Overall we had a lovely stay and the property exceeded our expectations. Location: Ideal for accessing the Peak District, the road the pub is located on is very quiet so makes for a perfect getaway if you’re looking for something more relaxing and laid back. Parking: Plenty of spaces available and parking is free. Room: We stayed in the Balsow room which is dog friendly, make sure you mention when booking if bringing a dog as all rooms are not dog friendly. The room was spotless when we arrived and the well stocked fridge with complimentary soft drinks, including coke, Fanta, fresh orange, milk etc. was a really nice touch. There is also well stocked tea and coffee making facilities in the room too which is also complimentary. Food: The restaurant serves food in the evening until 8:30pm, all the food is fresh and cooked to a high standard. Special mention to Rich for his hospitality - as we arrived slightly later than expected food has finished for the night, Rich overheard us and offered to make us a fresh burger and fries. The food was lovely and it was very kind of them to accommodate us past the serving time! Breakfast: Starts at 9am, please make sure to pre-book your preferred time(s) when you arrive. Plenty of tea, coffee and fresh juice is served with breakfast. Again, food was cooked to a high standard using local products. Check out: The checkout time is 10am but they do not rush you what so ever. I suppose this may depend on how many guests they have, but we stayed and enjoyed breakfast without needing to rush to get out of the room in time. Overall we had a lovely stay here and all the staff are very welcoming and accommodating. We would 100% stay here again in future and have already recommended the George Inn to our family and friends.

Beds are on the firmer side, however we aren’t used to that so it may not be a problem for others. That being said, we did sleep well and it didn’t impact our stay.

The friendly staff good clean fun . We spent alot of time in various places of the lovely little pub, first afternoon in the beer garden , then sat at the front of the pub just watching the world go bye . Then we sat in the restaurant had a breakfast , then some lunch , then a fantastic dinner. Dog friendly as well There's a church next door on the weekend we stayed there was a wedding on ,, The male choir came in afterwards for some lunch and refreshments. It was a lovely , relaxing joyfull weekend . .

Absolutely nothing.

Great place to.stay and eat. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were really friendly. We had an evening meal, and also breakfast, and both were good. Tideswell is a great location, with plenty of independent shops and cafe's. It's also a good base for walking around the beautiful countryside.

Lovely place to stay for the weekend, bit of a treat for my fellas birthday. Staff were really nice making sure everything was OK for us, food was lovely all homemade and the breakfast was great in fact we were still a bit full by the time tea time came round. Would definitely recommend the George Inn to people 👌

Having to order breakfast the night before. Having to order specific items separately. You don’t always know what you’re going to want the next morning. Hanging baskets and troughs all dead. Made the place seem unloved and un-cared for.

Owner went above and beyond checking on our dietary needs and what we would like for breakfast and evening meal. Room was fab, comfy and well equipped, with a bath and fridge. Dinner was superb

Disturbed sleep due to church bells every hour all night, not the hotel's fault though

A large range of complimentary drinks including wine, orange juice, canned soft drinks and real milk in the room was unexpected and a real treat. It made the stay better value for money. Very comfortable room.

It wasn't clear that breakfast was extra when we booked.

Clean and comfortable room. Quiet room also considering it was over a pub. The best porridge for breakfast and a very friendly welcome all round!
