I booked on behalf of my parents. I'd forgotten to request a room with lift access to the floor. but at reception they managed ( after a quick bit of juggling around) to arrange a equal room with better access. the staff were always smiling, and quick to acknowledge you when you were there. they had one meal, which they enjoyed. The room was warm but with an opening window if needed. Everything was very clean, with a tidy daily and replenishment of coffees etc. overall a lovely stay.

parking is an issue. although the hotel actually have a petition in the reception to the council to improve this ( along with other local businesses). However, I am local so it was easier for me to know where to find a spot for my parents.

We enjoyed our stay at this really pleasant hotel. The room we were given was a good size, comfortable, very clean and quiet. The bathroom was exceptional, with a fabulous shower. Tea, coffee, biscuits and kettle provided, and there was also a mini fridge and bottles of water. The bed was comfortable, the linen clean and good quality, and plenty of pillows available. We had a drink in the bar downstairs, which was obviously popular with locals, with many of them enjoying the food available. If we’re up that way again we’ll have no hesitation in booking here again.

Street parking is possible around the hotel itself, though none available when we arrived. It wasn’t a problem as there is a car park nearby, which we used for a few hours, then moved our car right outside the hotel door. We were put on the third floor, quite far from reception, and unfortunately the internet reception was patchy. However, downstairs in the bar the reception was excellent!

A genuine and warm welcome from Proprietors Glen and Maggie , plus all the staff, throughout our 6 night/day stay, were cheerful and always more than happy to help . The meals in the dining room , optional on an evening, plus extensive breakfast choices , were all beautifully cooked and presented. The Hotel has many fine period features and is all decorated to a good standard. We had a large bedroom en-suite , with a modern walk in shower , on the first floor served by either the wide staircase or the modern lift. Choices of Tea.and coffee plus drinking chocolate each day/night and various tasty biscuits, plus bottled water, The room was serviced every morning with clean towels etc.. We really enjoyed our stay and certainly hope to stay again. Many thanks to Glen and Maggie and all the staff. Carnforth is a small and pleasant north of England town, with everything convenient to hand. The Hotel being conveniently close to the period Railway Station associated with the wartime romance film, "Brief Encounter". It's well worth a visit for those interested in Film, Railway and Wartime memorabilia. The Beauty of Lakeland is but a short drive , also the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales , all within a pleasant drive. Morecambe and Heysham for time spent by the Seaside.

Just can't think of anything we did not like.

This is a classic Victorian railway hotel but the bedroom was modernised as well as being warm, clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Its attached public bar, The Junction, had very good food in the evening, and had the atmosphere of a local pub frequented by the locals. The Full English breakfast was great - all cooked perfectly. The hotel is just across the road from Carnforth train station, and is just over a mile from Junction 35 on the M6. The area has some very pretty countryside - good for walking, bird watching, and is near the sea. It's also only a few miles from Morecambe and 10 minutes on the train to Lancaster.

There were no problems at all with my stay.

Genuinely friendly staff, they couldn't do enough for us. We had elderly relatives with us so this was much appreciated. The hotel has a real homely feel, the kind you don't get with a soulless big hotel chain. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the ensuite bathrooms clean and clearly recently refurbished. The restaurant and food was impressive, we ate there on our first night and were genuinely impressed with the quality. Breakfasts both continental and cooked were particularly good. Would definitely recommend a stay.

Parking is off site but there's plenty of on street parking available literally meters away.

The property has plenty of character and is clean throughout. The staff were friendly and happy to help. It is a Victorian build, so don’t expect it to be all glass and chrome, but for us, this added to its charm. The bathroom however was up to modern expectations with a great walk-in shower. The room was warm (but to be expected in August) but a fan was available and helped to cool the room. The mini fridge was also a great addition. The restaurant served delicious food and the rooftop terrace was an ideal way to end the day. We really enjoyed our time here! Thank you to the team!

The traffic is noisy, but it’s to be expected being so close to the historic Carnforth station. We just accepted it!

The people were so friendly, helpful, and had a lot of fun in their job. You became happy talking to them with their English humour and jokes 😁. Food was also great and with our kids who were tired of the drive, they just put all the food on trays so we could eat everything in our own room which made it easier. Breakfast was also very good for just 12 £.

The only thing that could improve is the curtains in our room that didn't darken the room at all. Very early in the morning it was already bright as day which wasn't a big problem in our case as we had to leave early but if you want to sleep in, it will be difficult.

Staff are lovely, very welcoming of my dog, Merlin. Room lovely and clean and had everything you could wish for a short stay. Even lovely ground coffee bags not dried instant ☕️ & fresh milk. Points just for this. New co-op shop taken over in 1930s cinema straight over the road if you want to grab anything. Plenty eateries around and a FAB old secondhand bookshop 300 yards up the road. Got of couple of titles not seen anywhere else. Carnforth Railway Station is over the road - made famous by the Brief Encounter film - a must visit for any film buff. The railway hosts a museum to the film era and staff there very welcoming & knowledgeable. Not expensive to get in.

Location is on corner at set of traffic lights. If you can manage to sleep without double glazed windows open you might be OK. Did calm down after midnight.

The hotel was a quirky mix of traditional British hotel and good modern refurbishment. The dining room was nicely done and the en-suite in my room had good modern fittings. My evening meal, Sea Bass, was really nice and I passed compliments to the chef. My wine choice of a Shiraz was good too. Breakfast choice was good, i had Eggs Benedict though full English was an option. All staff were friendly and helpful.

I would have liked a pen and some paper in my room as I forgot to pack any. But the bar staff were happy to lend me one so non big deal. Having pre-registered online as requested I was a little surprised to be asked the same questions again, eg. meal times.

All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was lovely with a comfortable bed, great shower. Nice selection of drinks available which were restocked daily. The restaurant next to the bar was quite loud but the food was fantastic.

My room was on the main road and the traffic was noisy at times, which the window didn't seem to block out very well. But to be expected with the central location. Wifi didn't really reach my room and there was a smart TV but not connected to the internet.
