* Very helpful and friendly staff * All my questions were answered immediately. * Plenty of coffee, tea and anything else you might need, even in your room. * Everything seemed well thought through and was working just fine.

* The location is a bit out of the city centre, but the 20 minute walk is OK and feels safe, also at night. * Breakfast doesn't start until 7.30am, so it's hard to get to the university by public transport before 9am (It doesn't seem to be possible to rent a bike in Lancaster any more).. * Breakfast is more French than just continental (e.g. no cheese), but otherwise very decent and of high quality.

The Townhouse doesn't do cooked breakfast - just cereals and toast, and I was pleased with that. The coffee was strong and good. It is good value, so it was not surprise that the room was quite small. The Townhouse is only a few hundred yards from the the great canal aqueduct over the River Lune, one of England's great industrial monuments, bult about 1810.

The Townhouse is quite a long way from the middle of Lancaster, and the obvious way for foot-travellers to get there is to walk down a rather busy road (I admit there is a bus). The solution is to follow the canal towpath, which lined with tress, is very atmospheric, and goes right into the centre of town (and a lot further).

The atmosphere was so cozy and comfy. The place was super clean and smelled really fresh. There is free wifi and loads of snacks like fruit, biscuits and coffee/tea. I ordered a takeaway and there were good quality disposable plates and cutlery to use in the “evening” dining room. There was even wine glasses and a corkscrew there and I really wished I had brought some wine! I knitted and watched a rom com in the living room where there was a little dish of sweets. Even if I didn’t bring my knitting , I would not have been bored since there was a wide range of books I could have leafed through. I had a single room with it’s own bath. The sheets were fresh and all the amenities in the room and bathroom were impeccable. The breakfast was mostly your choice of cereals, porridge, toast (different kinds of breads) and crumpets. Also, fruit and yoghurts. I loved how the juice and milk are presented in little bottles. The coffee was lovely. A very healthy breakfast. And there were lots of bottles of water to drink. There is limited parking in the front but there is ample parking behind the B&B

Honestly, there was nothing about the property I didn’t like.

The cleanliness, very comfy beds. Complimentary mini soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel. . Also tea coffee biscuits etc in room. Warm welcome showed lounge, ( nice place to chill) dinning room, small area to make hot/cold drinks, with extra complimentary chocolate biscuits fresh fruit. Also Small fridge I did use to chill the complimentary bottled water. Which I thought where wonderful additives much appreciated, especially considering the price I would definitely stay here again.

Continental Breakfast Would have loved an English. But again I think this reflects the price which would bump it up. And almost next door do bacon sausage etc toasties so this isn’t a complaint just a comment.

This was a very affordable and convenient option for a short stay in Lancaster. It is a pleasant walk from the town centre, either along the canal or the river. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is simple, toast, cereal, tea, coffee, fruit juice, but perfectly adequate. There is a bowl of fruit and snacks for guests to take available at all times. The staff are very friendly, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

There is no dedicated parking, but we had no difficulty finding free parking nearby. The room was very hot, but it had been unseasonably warm. There was a ceiling fan, which helped, but if the windows had been left open and the blinds drawn during the day it would have been better!

My stay at Lancaster Townhouse really was an excellent choice for me and it couldn’t have been any better. I was visiting a friend in hospital and I couldn’t have chosen anywhere nicer to stay. Stuart and Daria were very friendly and welcoming. Daria was wonderful where nothing was too much trouble for her. I can honestly say that my stay there exceeded my expectations. When you make a booking on Booking.com you really don’t know how things might turn out but my stay at the Lancaster Townhouse was: a) right next to the canal which meant I could walk directly along to the hospital (approx’ 25/30 mins); b) humanistic, welcoming and friendly; c) very spacious room and just perfect for me - the bed was very comfortable. Next time I’m in Lancaster, I shall definitely be booking here again for absolute sure!

The most lovely owner, Stuart, who was so welcoming right from the get go! I was a solo female traveller and I felt incredibly safe. Had a quick and informative tour from Stuart then it was off to explore! The lady at breakfast was brilliant. She showed me everything I needed and when I left, she made sure I was stocked up with water and a snack for the journey home. The breakfast is continental and there’s so much of it - I loved the little orange juice bottles. Free parking at the front and rear of the property. Couldn’t have asked for anything more! Thank you for the most wonderful stay.

The fact I had to leave!

Breakfast was fine. Nothing cooked but that suited me. The room was compact and the beds were good. The en suite bathroom beautiful and kitted-out for any user e.g. grab bar by wc and in shower, soft floor tiles. Really nice deco. Everything anyone could need. As if the hosts had seriously thought through everything a guest might want or need. In the hallway extra tea sugar coffee sachets, fresh fruit, choc biscuits as required. There was a residents' lounge (not needed) and a microwave oven for any food brought in from town. Very trad and quite choochy and splendid place.

I thought that the house, given its name, would have been closer to the town centre, but this is more of an observation than a criticism. The place was a model B&B. Thanks. HM

The accommodation was spotless, comfortable and homely. Lovely little touches like the " library " in the sitting room, and fresh fruit in reception .Stuart went out of his way to accommodate the special circumstances of our trip, and was most helpful in every way. Nothing was too much trouble. " Continental breakfast plentiful and excellent.

The carpark at the rear ( not owned by the Guesthouse/ owner unknown ) had been used for flytipping , and was unlit , and unkempt, as was the path leading into it. Stuart has only very recently occupied the Townhouse ( 7 weeks ), and is fully intending to rectify the problem as soon as possible.

Friendly welcome from Stuart, who helpfully carried my bag up to the top floor for me! Clean, comfortable room, nice breakfast, although would have been good to have a cooked breakfast option. Great to have a guest lounge and dining room, complete with microwave. Loved the provision of extra supplies and snacks in the hallway - including seasonal mini eggs for Easter! Lots of attention to detail.

My room was at the back, and there were occasional noises during the night - presumably from the industrial estate behind the house. Not the LTH's fault, though!
