Excellent room

Problem with room leaking onto my son’s head from room above went back the same night after reporting this but was even worse so they had to change rooms which was inconvenient as it was late on at night but not only that the problem could have been so much worse if the ceiling had come down plus we didn’t know if it was just water or toilet water dripping 😩 told the staff of the problem the morning we were leaving saying we was not happy with the situation they apologised but noting more which thought was quite bad

This swanky boutique hotel certainly has an excellent team behind it. But the layout was unconventional - basically it is a set of 4-5 homes that have been (skillfully) merged, all connected by a corridor of marquis at the front, which also serves as one of the two restaurants. We had to walk through this area with our luggage while people were dining, which was a bit weird, and then up 4 flights of stairs (no elevator). But my criticisms end there. The staff were professional and obliging, and our party of 7 had a grand time eating and drinking. The food is exceptionally good. The rooms were an interesting combination - a smallish but perfectly appointed bedroom equal in size to the large bathroom with tub, spa-style shower area, etc. Ultimately it was a strong 8/10 with great style and good value.

The layout of this hotel isn't for everyone - make sure you get help if you don't want a gym workout getting to the top floor with your bags.

Everything had been well thought through for a luxurious, welcoming stay in the best location for shops, cafes and the Literary Festival site. The bed was so comfortable, the bathroom downstairs was exceptional with a wonderful, quick filling bath and 2 sinks. All facilities had been carefully thought about and the 2 restaurants were so good with a lovely ambience. I found my room, no. 4, to be quiet at the beginning of the week, with only a little traffic noise. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and I will book again next year.

The only complaints I had were that, as a short person, I had to climb onto the toilet seat to flush, as the chain was near the ceiling, and also the clothes hangers, which I couldn't use. For my next booking I will check that the room caters for small people!

Easy to check in and locate the property. Clear instructions for parking were given. Welcoming staff at front desk - offered to carry bags and showed us the room. Room facilities were excellent, maybe could have benefited from full length mirror in bedroom section as not a lot of room to stand behind the door. Some noise during Friday evening, which was to be expected with the bar next door but nothing excessive and the hotel did offer quieter rooms if desired. Didn't eat at the hotel but drinks were reasonably priced. Location was very central, we walked everywhere we wanted to go in the area as we felt safe as two women travelling.

Nothing we didn't like. Steps in bedroom may be an issue for a disabled person but I presume that would be changed if needed.

The room and location were great, the fact the room had aircon on such warm days was always a blessing. We had such a nice stay the double shower the bath, the rooms were dark when you wanted to sleep and you didn't hear to much road noise

We ate dinner at 131 the first night we stayed and it was very poor to be honest, I paid a good amount of money for a steak that a terrible cut full of fat and way over cooked, I would def look elsewhere to eat if we ever stayed again The fact you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the hotel room need addressing also its uncomfortable for the people staying and the people who are eating at the restaurant I feel as people have bags and so on bumping into chairs or everyone stops what they are doing and stares at you.

Great location and food was excellent dinner was very good and great choice for breakfast.

I'd like to bring to your attention some points that stood out during my recent stay. Firstly, the loud music played throughout the night was quite surprising for a high-end establishment. Seems to be the theme of other reviews too. I believe it's important for the hotel to maintain a sophisticated atmosphere and not cater to a party crowd. Additionally, while the food and ambiance were commendable, I found the staff's reluctance to accommodate a large breakfast table disappointing. It would be beneficial for the hotel to address these issues to enhance the overall guest experience. Management need to accept what other guests are suggesting. And the loud music is not acceptable till 3am. Will not return. Or recommend this establishment for accommodation but for (food yes).

A beautiful building with fabulous facilities and a unique personality. Even though my room was tiny, it was quirky and full of detailed final touches, from characterful fittings to being provided with a Dyson hairdryer. Easy on-street parking close to the venue too and plenty of facilities provided for food and drink. The staff were fabulous - warm and welcoming - and the

It was a particularly hot weekend. My room was at the top of the building and had no air con. The room came with a Dyson fan, but I with the need to open the window too I then had the noise from the bar until 2am.

We were in Cheltenham for a wedding, and chose this hotel because it was walking distance to the wedding venue. We got a family room and it suited our family well. We had a night cap at the lively bar on our return from the wedding reception. The bathroom was huge - double sinks and double showers! Breakfast was not included :-(

Beware of parking issues - only the road behind the hotel is free with hotel parking pass. We got a parking ticket because I parked on the side of the hotel. Look at map to see where you can park for free.

This was an exceptional hotel, full of character. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The decor was fabulous and we were spoilt for choice with the bars and restaurants within the hotel. The bed was so comfortable and the room even included a Dyson hairdryer. It was centrally located and only a two minute walk to our location. We left the following morning and just 10 minutes down the road we stopped at Dunkertons Cider Barn which is owned by the same person. It was fab. Lots of street food, a bar and a shop all placed under a huge marquee with chandeliers. We would definitely stay here again.

Nothing really.

Property, and all facilites were super cool, modern and quirky, beautifully done. Gin & Juice bar was amazing, dinner and breakfast was superb!

Staff member who took us to our room was warm and welcoming, but on checking out, the lady was a little cold. Just payment taken, didnt ask if it was a good stay or have you had a good time. Actually our coffee machine seemed to leak out its water and had to be kept on a large metal tray- nothing huge but I was ready to mention. Would have been nice to be asked, felt a little cold and meant our final interaction was slightly negative.
