We didnt get a chance to try the breakfast this time. The sky tv was a nice surprise. Location was good as a short walk from the seafront and we had our room outside on dolphin street so it didnt feel like being in a hotel.

Unfortunetly we found the bed was smaller than we hoped which made sleeping slightly uncomfortable. Our room had a hole in the far wall and lots of marks , it didnt affect our stay but a decoration would make it more presentable. Also up on arrival we opened the door and the room smelt of smoke, we had to open the window most of the day to let it air. We liked the seating area outside our room but there were alot of cigerette butts on the floor.

This place is truly a hidden gem at first we thought the location looked tired looking and rough round the edges however the hotel/restaurant is lovely inside and the dolphin rooms are also lovely, we came for our 1st year anniversary because we love the beach, I asked for some Prosecco which was already in the room and the staff added extra little touch with petals on the bed. Breakfast was nice too.

Parking is a little issue however we parked in the car park up the road as we didn’t want to block anyone in at the hotels small car park. We paid £5.20 for 24 hours.

All staff friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was beautiful. Hotel decorated beautifully throughout. Had tea/coffee and kettle, also iron and ironing board so that was good.

Booked dolphin room but stayed in room 104 in dovedale hotel. Room lovely but very small for a double room. Not much room for clothes if staying for more than 1 or 2 nights. Mattress very firm so was too hard for me and my hubby, but everybody as different preferences for a comfy mattress

We loved everything about the hotel especially Lindsey who served us breakfast every morning. She was very friendly and warm. The food was delicious.

The toilet extractor was noisy when the light was switched on.

We booked Dolphin rooms but actually stayed at the Dovedale Hotel which suited us perfectly. We found the bed to be very comfortable and slept very well. Breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked. We would recommend this hotel and would be very happy to stay there again. We appreciated having an iron and hairdryer available in our room as we were attending a wedding.

It would have been nice to have some fruit with our breakfast but this wasn’t included on menu…also muesli not available. However we were able to have hot porridge and lovely whole meal toast as well as a freshly cooked full English breakfast.

The room and bathroom were of a good size and I was able to control the heating. I liked the fact that the Dolphin rooms isnt the little brick house in dolphin street and is in fact a hotel. A little confusing but a pleasant finding.

The TV was a wee bit small and placed really high on the wall. Couldnt really see it properly from the bed (as it was small) and you couldn't really sit close to it as it was too high. The parking isnt guaranteed and when you have a brand new car its a bit worrying. Spent a long time driving around the streets on occasion looking for a safe space to park. The Dolphin room description is confusing as I was directed to a hotel in another street.. The rooms look nothing like the advertising.

Clean, modern rooms. Very comfortable. Good housekeeping. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice and first class service. Rooms are only a 30 sec walk from the main hotel, so very convenient. Managed to find a space in the hotel car park every day. Very helpful and friendly staff, particularly the breakfast waitress, who deserves extra praise. Rooms/hotel are situated 1min walk from the seafront promenade. Next time we are in the area the Dolphin Rooms/Dovedale Hotel will be our first choice.

The rooms are very modern, decorated to a good standard. Bed very comfortable. Nice big TV on wall, tea making facilties. Bathroom also very nice, large quadrant shower. The breakfast menu was very good, plenty of choice and staff were very pleasant and attentive.

I didn't find any issues and would definitely stay here again.

Lack of readily accessible car parking could be a problem if you are unlucky enough to not be able to find a space on the street. Wasn't sure whether we were able to use the nearby municipal. Clarification on this when booking might help and if not already a deal could one not be negotiated. A pity all that empty space being wasted.

The staff are extremely friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. They really do put the guests first. The breakfast is fantastic. Well done guys. We always choose this hotel. We hadn't been for a while and the level of service hasn't changed one bit. I'd highly recommend staying here.
