Nice looking hotel inside & out with car park around the back. Very friendly helpful staff. Lovely big room with big comfortable bed. Had a good night's sleep very quiet considering main road out the front. Nice evening meal without being exceptional but lovely filling breakfast in the morning . Cranbrook also is a lovely little town with lots of character, history & nice shops & restaurants. The local church is fascinating too with its historical clock and Father Time sculpture.

Being picky the evening meal , Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pud was nice however the meat was quite fatty & Yorkshire Pudding cold. The shower was not straightforward to work but sussed it eventually.

Location was convenient both for Sissinghurst and for local restaurants.

1) The hotel car park is quite small, and not easy to turn a medium sized car in. Staff did suggest another two parking options, but they were some distance away. 2) Our room (no.1) was adjacent to a very noisy kitchen extractor fan, although to be fair that was switched off by the time we were trying to get to sleep. 3) The staff member who checked us in suggested that we could open the fire escape door for ventilation if necessary (since the window didn't appear to open)). However, since the fire door opened on to an external fire escape stairway, that didn't seem ideal from a security viewpoint.

Fab staff who were really friendly and helpful. When I had an issue with my room Sally came to sort it out quickly and kept me up to date with what was happening. This building is really old but has the advantage of high ceilings and huge windows as well as wonky floors, beams and the odd suit of armour! Rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed is really comfy. Breakfast is wonderful. Such an extensive menu and all delicious and filling.

I had an issue with no hot water very early in the morning.

Staff were very helpful and welcoming. The hotel was as central to Cranbrook as it was possible to be. The food was very good, innovative and well presented. The facilities in the room were good apart from the aspect of the heaing

The room we had allocated to us was not very warm when we arrived, in fact my wife said it was cold; there was a radiator under the window, but hidden by a curtain, however it was not on. It is December! There was a small mobile radiator, but only the lower heat setting could be turned on. When we went down for dinner we asked the very nice young lady who was in reception. She said she would sort it out. Apparently she knew the main radiator was not working. She found us another small mobile radiator, but one foot was broken and it was stood on a small wooden box. It did work on the high heat setting. As the hotel knew the radiator was not working we thought we could have been given another room. the hotel was not that busy.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, comfortable and lovely. We loved the Olde Worlde charm of the building. Dinner on one night was very nice.

We stayed in room 7 which was very clean, very comfortable but noisy. Early morning refuse collection (probably out of your control) and 6 o'clock deliveries to the front of the hotel underneath our bedroom window was not what we wanted on a break away from home. If we stay again we would want a room away from above the delivery point at the front. Breakfast could run a bit smoother, no offers of more coffee etc.. Also, on one occasion I had the breakfast bap and there is a difference between toasted and charred - my mistake, I should have complained at the time but it should not have been served.

Bed comfortable and requested a fan and extra pillow which were already in our room on arrival. Our dinner was very good and the menu had some delicious looking food it was hard to choose. The staff throughout our stay were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was very good and hot with plenty of choice.

Our bathroom was very clean but very tired looking. Not much room on the dressing table to get ready as was cluttered with cups, glasses and coffee machine.

Stayed here before during the summer months. Ideal location for me to see friends etc, as I used to live in Kent.

I would not stay again in winter months, the room was freezing, very little heating, but is an old Hotel, had to sleep with a hoodie on. I have cancer and COPD so the cold isn’t ideal for my health. It was for only one night so suffered in quiet. The sever in the restaurant Miles was great.

The hotel was in a good location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice of food. The pub had an outdoor seating area which is nice on a sunny day. We would definitely stay again.

Parking can be a little difficult due to small car park for around seven cars but we had no problem. There is building work nrxt to hotel but caused us no problem, not too noisy.

Stayed in a fabulous, spacious room (room 2) in part of the oldest bit of the building. Wonderful facilities. Restaurant was really good and breakfast was excellent - all freshly cooked to order. Sally checked us in, served us for dinner and was there at breakfast too! She was great, full of character and a real asset to the place.

The car park was difficult to negotiate, that was our only criticism.

Our room was spacious as was the bathroom. Very clean with all the usual facilities - tea and coffee machine, TV, water, fresh milk etc. The staff were excellent, friendly and efficient. The hotel has great character. Our dinners were very good and great value and the breakfasts the best we have had in a long time. The manager and Becca were excellent. Parking also available.

We liked it all.
