Stayed at Brekland Lodge for over 25 years, and seen it evolve over that time. The rooms have been upgraded, and the pub itself extended. It provides a great accommodation facility alongside the bar and restaurant. We understand it's now part of the 'Red Cat' pub company, but all still seems to have stayed the same.

We know that the pub and restaurant get ridiculously busy and popular on a Sunday, but if no one is available to answer the phone, it would be a good idea to have an answering machine facility. We wanted to contact the staff in advance of our arrival, and no one was answering, which I half expected as we know how busy they can be, but it would have been reassuring to have been able to leave a message for someone to call us back.

I stayed in a triple room with my Mum and sister, we were very pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to our room. It was immaculate and had everything we needed for an overnight stay, even had lovely toiletries in the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable too. We had a lovely carvery in the very nice Stag restaurant (it was very busy so advise booking). There was plenty of attentive wait staff and the food was delicious so we had breakfast there next morning before leaving, which was also cooked to perfection and good value for money.

The property is extremely good value for money, the carvery and food in the restaurant is delicious with plenty of variety, make sure you book for dinner as it is very popular with guests and locals. The rooms are clean and decorated to a high standard the beds are very comfortable. All staff that we spoke with were helpful and a credit to the business.

Clean and comfortable rooms, helpful and friendly staff, delicious value for money food.

The check in was quick and the receptionist booked us a taxi for later in the evening. The room was very acceptable and was well appointed. We were out for dinner, but we did sample the breakfast which was excellent. The cooked breakfast was all perfectly cooked and well presented. All the staff we encountered were professional, helpful and pleasant. We will definately stay again.

The only complaint which I mentioned to the receptionist; was that there wa no anti slip or bath mat for the bath. Whilst taking a shower I found the bath was slippery.

The

The staff made this trip for me exceptional. I can honestly say that absolutely every member of staff went out of their way to help me. I am disabled and I really struggled with the entrance doors and the room door and the corridor fire doors, but your lovely caring staff were always instantly on hand to assist me. I EVEN BELIEVE THJAT YOUR STAFF EVEN MONITORED THE CCTV AND CAME RUSHING TO HELP As soon as I came out of my room. Well done!

Lovely generous and freshly cooked breakfast. Excellent evening carvery with good selection of well cooked food. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with excellent tea and coffee facilities.

Staff were a little lax, drinks menu not offered at dinner, some slow service at breakfast and a minor order confusion to our table. Nothing major but somewhat irksome. Traffic noise was sometimes noticeable but possibly due to particularly loud vehicles. Also a loud, unknown banging, clanking noise at around 8am sounded like broken machinery in the building.

The check-in was very easy, staff there and friendly/helpful. Ate in the restaurant, where the staff were brilliant, and the food VERY good. The room was very well organised, with everything that was needed.

As it was Christmas, there was no housekeeping, so used cups were still there, and bed unmade during two night stay. That was a shame. Also the print on some necessary instructions (ie heater, and coffee machine) were exceptionally small, and as I had forgotten my reading glasses, impossible to read.

We only stayed one night while visiting my elderly parents. We have stayed before. The rooms are comfortable and an adequate size. I feel this is more a short break style hotel than a long break, but it gets pretty booked up, so obviously popular. We enjoy the breakfasts. Plenty of choice. We didn't eat at the hotel, but it has a bistro and a restaurant I believe. No gardens to speak of and is on the road, but didn't notice much traffic noise.

The bed was a little hard for my taste. It was too warm for a duvet, but housekeeping kindly provided a blanket. We have already booked again for next visit to my parents.

The location was excellent. Food available was also very good, portions were more than ample and well presented with a good choice on the menu.

The double rooms were a little on the small size but adequate for a short stay. The beds were not as comfortable as they good have been and the pillows a little hard but that was my opinion as my husband had no complaints.

Lovely rooms Brilliant hot shower and hot towels Restaurant food was very good and reasonably priced.

We arrived a little late for group luncheon. When we went to the buffet to get lunch one of the restaurant staff members was quite rude telling us that we had to vacate our table by 2pm. We gulped our lunch down thinking we only had 20 minutes but then ended up staying on with the rest of the group til around 3pm and no one told us we had to vacate the table - which I found odd.
