Room was excellent, good size, nice bathroom, well equipped and easy to access. Breakfast was excellent too, lots of options for cooked or cold foods. Service was caring and efficient. Only had dinner on one evening, steak was cooked as I like it, and overall a very enjoyable meal.

The system for guest parking charges needs improving. Whilst it is free for guests I received parking fines from the company who manages the parking. These were cancelled at a later date and were the only negative element of our stay. More care needs to be taken so that guests don't receive the fines in the first place.

Really great stay, good overall customer connection, quality food and beverage as well as breakfast. My room was cosy and inviting and very tidy with everything you need. The pillows are to die for I didn’t want to leave my bed but had a work meeting to attend. Really relax atmosphere and good ambiance. I travel a lot for work and this was one of my most comfortable stays and my room was excellent!

Majority of staff really did their best to engage, 1 person did not so much and could have tried more as it wasn’t that busy and they had an opportunity to connect with a customer. I am an Area Manager with the hospitality industry and these personal connections are everything to retain and build upon new customers. Someone like myself is a great opportunity as I travel to Southampton at least once or twice a month for my meetings and I could add an additional £150-£250 a month per stay and your establishment could be my regular of choice. That could be an extra £250x12months = £3,000 annually which is easy money for any business especially with the economic climate every penny counts. Just wanted to share this constructive feedback as I feel it’s a fantastic place just need a minor tweak.

Absolutely superb for the last-minute deal price I paid. Great welcome in the bar and very professional and friendly management and staff, very dog friendly. The rooms are exceptionally comfortable and have everything, fan, kettle, coffee maker, selection of teas, bottle of water, hot chocolate and biscuits, more towels than you need, large tv, even a radio, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, fridge (with fresh milk, nice touch), shampoo, body wash and conditioner in dispensers in the shower ... everything! The shower was excellent. Good easy wifi. Room 5 has a decent view over the boatyard. The room is double glazed so would be quiet, but for it being so hot I had to leave the windows open. Still slept very well. Location is perfect for exploring the Hamble river and country park. In the bar, I tried the roast aubergine main course and it was excellent. Can't wait to return to this place.

The room was VERY warm (it was one of the hottest days of the year) and needs more ventilation because it was hard to cool it down overnight even with the windows open to their max allowed extent. It could also do with some frosting or blinds or something in the lower half of the windows because the thick, heavy curtains mean you're either naked and on show or you're going to get no air! There's a dodgy floorboard in Rm 5. Be prepared to pay £7 a pint.

It was fun to find that our rooms were in a separate single storey building round the back of the Steakhouse rather than above the restaurant. This meant they were quiet. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, decor and furniture really lovely and good quality, attention to detail, felt luxurious, beds very comfortable, tea facilities and goodies great, our dog was welcome for £20 extra and was given a really cute package that included a doggy bed, blanket, bowl, ball and treats! Nice touch! We enjoyed an evening meal in the Steakhouse and found the staff to be very friendly. Plenty of free parking on site. Happy with our stay :)

Would have been a bonus to have breakfast included in the price.

Loved the fact that you didn’t have to go through the pub to get to rooms, and it was nice to have a small table and chairs outside the room too. Fridge in the room and I was given fresh milk for tea/coffee. Food was good in the bar, plenty of choice, breakfast was also good with a small continental option followed by a choice of hot dishes.

The fan in the bathroom stayed on all the time, would possibly disturb a light sleeper. Fire alarm went off at around 7am, I followed the instructions on the back of the door to the meeting point but no staff members came out, and the alarm went off after a few minutes but there was no communication on the fact it was a false alarm until I asked when checking out

We arrived late off the ferry from France - we rang ahead and the manager couldn't do enough for us - when we arrived, a beautiful platter of sandwiches, crisps and salad had been made for us, followed by a choice of desserts; all washed down with excellent, ice-cold wine. Very accommodating and pleasant staff. Good choice of breakfasts (not very hot though, but well-cooked). Parking safe and quiet, with plenty of room on site. Pretty room with comfy beds.

The heating in the room and bathroom was off - it was a cold April night - there was no thermostat in the room but we did find a thermostat in the hallway outside - however it was locked in a plastic case to prevent tampering!

Great location , friendly and very helpful staff, great size room and very clean and fresh , good bathroom and room facilities , we wanted for nothing . We had a very comfortable bed and pillows were a dream. Decor in bar and restuarant area looked new and furnishings were immaculate, staff serving there were welcoming and attentive .

Had difficulty connecting to WiFi from room we were in but staff rectified very quickly and connected us to an alternative which worked great. Had to leave very early in the morning and couldn’t find anywhere open to leave key but again sorted this by sending an email to hotel notifying where we had left the key and that we had checked out .

Clean. Lovely staff. Thoughtful accommodation. Perfect for dog also being able to let him potter for a pee around car park last thing at night. Husband loved coffee machine 😏. Stayed due to family visit so didn't sample food but family said food is great here although possibly a bit pricey. I don't know - we had Grandma Dinner and her amazing breakfast 😁

The only issue was a tepid shower in the morning. Not quite cold but ya know when the water is warmer when it's at your feet? Certainly woke me up, not in a great way. It would absolutely not stop us staying here again. Possibly my daughter used up all the hot water, (my energy bills are horrific with a 16 year old shower monster) 🤷 Told we would have a dog welcome pack, which we didn't. No problem, we always have all we need for him. I did question if the fold up bed had been set up for him though, which was a little disconcerting. I mean I love my dog, but I wouldn't want him sleeping on a human bed 😬. I'm assuming there was a miscommunication in our booking/housekeeping staff. My comments are trifling. I am nit picking. We will be back 👍

The room we had was spacious, the bed comfy and the shower hot! Although the room overlooked the hotel entrance & car park, it was nice & quiet. We had dinner & breakfast and the food was very good with decent portion sizes. The staff were lovely & very accommodating when we wanted to leave the car parked for an hour after check out so we could grab a coffee at the marina. All in all, a fab stop off point on our journey to the New Forest :).

We felt that the dinner and drinks prices were a little steep. But that won't deter us from going back!

Everything! We travelled with our fur baby and they organised a surprise box for her which had a tennis ball and some chicken sausages and poo bags, along with a blanket and dog bed. The restaurant also offers a dog menu. The room was amazing with a huge and very comfortable bed with lots of goodies and coffee machine and mini fridge. The shower was really powerful and everything you could need was provided. I travel regularly for work and have stayed in so many hotels during the last couple of years but this is undoubtedly THE BEST and most comfortable that I have stayed in! We'll definitely be returning and will stay whenever we visit family. I really can't rate them high enough. Absolutely fantastic and thank you very much to the friendly and accommodating staff

Nothing, absolutely fantastic and with the blackout blinds and comfortable huge bed it was the best night's sleep I have ever had in a hotel
