Wonderful breakfast, easy access, reasonably large rooms (single room enough for 1 person, double room really spacy enough for 2 guests). Very friendly and helpful staff! Great location, next to subway station, multiple shops, restaurant or take away facilities. Well equiped rooms with TV, kettle, daily updated selection of tea or coffee. Plenty of coat hangers. Multiple electric sockets, multiple light sources all over the room.

Beds are kinda hard. Pretty intense smell from making freakfast, starting at about 6-7 am, noticeable in some rooms :-(. Still would gladly book a room here again!

I had .major issues with booking my accommodation in Glasgow, because I made a lot of overseas payments in a short time-frame when organising our 4.5 week UK/Ireland holiday, and my bank suddenly froze my credit card just as I was paying the Royal West End Hotel to secure our booking. The hotel management was very supportive and allowed my booking to remain and I paid later. For this, I am so grateful. The hotel room was very comfortable and warm. It had a proper shower, not inside a bath, which is nice.

Parking was problematic; it's not an issue for the hotel, but with Glasgow as a whole. Parking in Glasgow is problematic. Being on the top floor was not easy for my wife, who has had medical issues. While the hotel is smoke free, it would improve things if smoking was also banned immediately outside the front door, as the smoke wafts back in so the entry smells of smoke at times, as happened when I saw one of the staff smoking just outside the front door.

The room was quiet, spacious, clean and comfortable with a great view. The front of house were very helpful and friendly (which is quite rare in that city). I really liked that I was able to connect my Netflix and other services to the large TV and watch shows in bed, it added to the overall relaxing holiday experience. The hotel is also in a good location, with several restaurants, stores and attractions within walking distance. It is also close to 2 or 3 busstops. This place is a great example of what a 3 star hotel should be: comfort for people on a budget. I'd certainly come back here (if Im ever willing to subject myself to the bizarrely rude people of Glasgow again).

For some reason both nights around 5am there was ALOT of racket coming from upstairs or possibly another room on the same floor. It sounded more like moving furniture rather than people getting ready to check out. It may have been people checking out so in that case it was just unfortunate that it kept us awake. But if it’s possible that staff were cleaning a room at that time from a late night check out then I think it was quite disrespectful as it kept us up from 5am both mornings. 24/7 reception so I’d assume they may also clean the rooms when they’re not expecting anyone to arrive.

We enjoyed our stay at the Argyll so much! The location is perfect, very convenient to the university, shopping, and public transit. There are a lot of shops, cafes and restaurants in the immediate area. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and also quite spacious for a European hotel. The building is older, but this only added to the charm. The breakfast was good, with excellent coffee. The best thing about the Argyll is the staff. They are so friendly and helpful, it really made our stay there feel like home. We will definitely stay again. Highly recommend!!!

Not a thing! Everything was great!

Lovely hotel, the gentleman who booked us in was very pleasant.. The location is brilliant especially as we were going to a gig at QMU, loads of good pubs, restaurants etc around. Room was very nice, bit of road noise but that can't be helped. Lovely floor to ceiling windows and the room and bathroom were spotless, very comfortable cosy bed and the room was lovely and warm. Excellent value for money for the price we paid.

Only small complaint is that we'd prefer proper toilet roll rather than the single sheets dispenser but not a major problem and probably to do with it being a macerator toilet.

- The location is perfect for anyone who comes to visit University of Glasgow. Easy to find, close to SPAR and CO-OP, and lots of restaurants. - Breakfast is also good, it was around 12 pounds and pretty good and fulfilling. Really recommend if you are on a business trip and have little time to explore restaurants or cafes. - the staff is also friendly and nice. I had noisy neighbors living next to me. I went to the reception staff in the middle of the night to complain as i couldn’t fall asleep because of the noise. The staff helped me address the issue.

- strange request for your bank account details for “security reasons” during check-in. Usually at reception people ask for your ID or passport, but here they asked for my credit card details. It felt very strange, but since I arrived very late at night I was too tired to ask for clarifications. - cleanliness of the room was still okay, but I had some concerns over the toilet seatcover, which did not look like it was properly cleaned and disinfected.

The location and the staff were wonderful! I didn’t have breakfast there, but the option of what they offered was pretty good! The staff were very friendly and attentive, they helped me carry my suitcase to my room on the top floor and offered complimentary bottled water. Sleeping was great because it was very quiet, they had blackout curtains, and a small fan. The location was perfect with loads of restaurants/bars, convenience stores, post office, the subway train, and botanical gardens park all within minutes of walking! Would stay here again for my return visit!

Nicely decorated room with comfortable bed and far more storage space than we needed for a short stay. Bathroom was fine once you got used to the noise of the macerator connected to the toilet. Nice familiar tea available in the room. Good to be able to open the huge sash windows to let in fresh air. Location-wise, the hotel is within a short walk of lots of cafes, restaurants, bars, attractions of Glasgow's West End and the subway. The price of a stay seemed good for this popular part of Glasgow.

Although set back from the main road, the single-glazed windows mean you still get quite a bit of traffic & street noise in the bedroom. We opted not to try the breakfast as £12 seemed bit steep for what looked limited options for a non-meat eater. First impression on entering the hotel is that of a cheap guesthouse - but the rooms are much nicer than that.

I have stayed here before. The hotel is my first choice for any show at Oran Mor. It has undergone a re-brand and redecoration. I stayed in one of the recently completed rooms. The staff were excellent and the breakfast was good, with a nice range of food. The room was clean and tidy.

The bathroom was too small. I said so whilst I was there. It would be better as a wet room, removing the need for a shower cubicle, allowing both the sink and toilet to be moved the three inches or so that would give some comfort.
