I appreciated the location--right by Great Western Road with close access to shops and subway. It was easy to pop in and out during the day between sightseeing and eating. It was an old place, and so it was more affordable (with the drawbacks that come with an aging building), and the lady who takes care of things was absolutely lovely! The first room I had didn't have wifi signal, so she gave me another room on the top floor where the wifi was great, and I loved the view! As far as cleanliness goes, everything was almost as spotless as possible. The bed was warm and comfortable, and I appreciated the pictures in the foyer and halls that added a homey touch.

There was mold in the bathroom, but without proper ventilation it's hard to avoid. The shower curtain was too long so that added to the mold. I felt very safe and comfortable, but when I had a neighbor in the next room I did wish for a chain lock, just because I worried they might try the wrong door! The floors creaked, the walls were thin, and the wifi down the hall didn't reach, but if you're like me and value a good neighborhood and feeling safe over having everything perfect, this is a good place.

The property’s location is very close to the university and also close to grocery stores and eateries. It’s all within a couple of minutes walk. The hotel was well maintained though it was an old property. The staff is very helpful and try to accommodate your requests. They also maintain the hotel very well. My room was spotless and I liked it. The staff helped me with my check in and check out very smoothly. I would certainly recommend it.

Nothing as such

Its location. It is close to the West End which I really enjoy visiting and is where my daughter lives. The ease at booking in and access. Simple to use too. Comfortable bed.

I found that the room I stayed in this time (7) was noisier than the other two rooms I have stayed in previously. The movement of other residents was easily heard and disturbed my sleep in the middle of the night a couple of times especially the use of the shower. I understand that this can't really be helped unless you sound proofed the room. Also I didn't understand how to use the TV and couldn't get the BBC channels.

I was pleasantly surprised at the room in the Guesthouse as it was better in person than in the pictures. It was an ideal location and also the lady at reception was lovely and very informative. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The room was also nice and cool which was ideal on a roasting hot day.

There are only 2 things that I could fault that are , the lights and electricity didn’t seem to be working in the morning but we only noticed not long before leaving in the morning so it wasn’t a big issue and also there was no body wash for the shower only hand soap.

Glasgow House is a quiet, no frills, hassle free establishment in a converted Georgian Townhouse in the heart of the West End of Glasgow, within walking distance of many, many places to visit, relax, eat and simply enjoy. the staff are efficient and unobtrusive, the rooms clean and comfortable and though free on street parking is a five minute walk away, it’s well worth the very reasonable cost of staying in such an outstanding location.

I’m on older gentleman and I loved it.

I got a better room than expected initially. Beds were very comfortable and it was nice to have a private bathroom. The location is excellent right next to a main road, the tube station and walking distance to the botanic gardens. The staff was friendly and everything was very clean.

The room I had did not have a view (covered window). That was not a big deal for me but might be for other guests.

Both of the staff were very friendly and I felt so welcomed and safe. It was very clean and I had every thing I needed.

The room was very small, but I knew this was the case.

We were met promptly for check-in. . I'd made an error when booking with room type and the reception accommodated this with no issues. Sheets towels and room were very clean, bed comfortable and tea and coffee and shower gel provided. Fabulous location for wonderful restaurants, botanical gardens, Kelvingrove etc. It was reasonable value, bearing in mind all hotels are expensive at this time of year.

The hotel is a bit tired and the basement room was a little stuffy with a fence shielding the laundry facilities and therefore very little natural light. The windows only opened a little way at the top but it didn't ruin our stay.

Great West End location close to cafes, bars, interesting shops and Botanic Gardens. Obviously this is an old hotel. But I quite liked it, it had a bit of character! Despite being well worn it was very clean. The single room was small but fine and had everything I needed including a big window that let in lots of light. The staff were friendly and helpful. It isn't luxury but it was the cheapest place I could find and was surprisingly nice.

The room was plain and small as per the description, but clean with a private bathroom/toilet. The heating was on, but only for a small period of time so the room was nice and cosy.

Only small tips for the owners: No hangers for the coat near the door, but nothing major. I wish there was access to a microwave or some sort of kitchen facility (like bowls, plates, etc). WiFi was limited per MB download/device which means a small word document needed a long time to get uploaded.
