Me and my Mum came for a restful break and that's exactly what we had. The hotel was lovely and cosy and perfectly placed from the train station as that is how we arrived. It was a 30second walk not 2mins as we saw advertised. The walking pack provided was brilliant and we did follow one of the walks through beautiful scenery. The food was sooo good, rather than go out for a meal on the second night we again ate in the hotel and it was good value for money.
On the first day of our stay, the shower water was scolding hot in where we could not use it but instead used the bath as it had the cold water. It was so hot that the steam caused the alarms to go off! Then we noticed on the second day that we had no water at all and when reported we were informed that maintenance was taking place in a communal toilet. This did not affect us too much as we went out for a walk and on return the water was back on. The hotel is in a quiet location with not much around (which was exactly what we wanted) but might not suit others. Malvern centre is only 5mins away on the train though.

It was a perfect stay - the staff are incredibly friendly (big thanks to Tina and Josephine especially), our room (no.1) was exceptional (although having to get out of bed to turn off the bedside lights was a little annoying - the were very tall!). Food was excellent (so thank you to the chef) and apart from the weather (wet) it was a perfect stay. The additional touches (a bottle of Prosecco in the room to celebrate my husband's birthday) was lovely.
We aren't dog people, so tripping over other people's dogs in the public areas wasn't ideal for us - although they seemed (the dogs) to be well behaved. Only other comment is the height of the bedside lights - definitely too tall.

Very nice hotel in a lovely village setting, easy access to the Malvern hills, great food, dog friendly, staff very friendly and helpful, log burner fire in the bar. Great beer garden although we didn't use it during our short stay. Massive big bedroom and en suite bathroom, very quiet and peaceful during the night even though it's on the main street. Great off road parking. Overall very good value for money.
Although we had a massive super king size bed I found the mattress a wee bit uncomfortable (could do with a mattress topper)

Location ,very good food ,very good service ,but sadly the building itself looked tired ....maybe a work in progress which would explain some areas lovley but sadly some not .
The decoration in our bedroom, very dark paintwork, wall mural which was OK somewhere but not in bedroom.lighting needed improvement, and a shelf in bathroom for toiletries...not the one with towels on.Also hand towels needed not just bath towels. The dining room for evening meals needed a boost.....some lovley old features ..fireplace and windows ...but didn't really go with modern lamps ,mirror and one glass decanter .overall the service and food standard made up for our issues .

The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Bar had a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The breakfast had everything you wanted. Eat in 3 nights and food was very good value for money.
The only fault was the shower. Bath was very high and being elderly found it very difficult to get in and put for a shower. They put bath mat in when we mentioned, and we suggested a hand rail to aid getting in and out, which they said they would take on board.

I had a small single room but it was comfortable enough for me for one night only. I slept well.
Bathroom and esp. the shower cubicle was tiny and I did struggle to get in/out as I am someone with slightly large build. Breakfast - service was very good but the full English was not brilliant. Mushrooms were soggy & tasteless and bacon/sausage/black pudding were quite dry as if they had been kept warm for a long time.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was excellent, breakfast could of been hotter but very enjoyable and Hattie the dog loved her sausage every morning. A very good location to catch trains to Worchester and Hereford and lovely walks for the dog and us. we would love to go back again there are still things to see and do in this area which we didn't have time to see and would definitely go back to Colwall again.
The breakfast could of been hotter

Warm welcome from staff. A truly dog-friendly hotel with even dog bowls, dog treats ,dog cushions and dog basket provided. Exceptionally comfortable bed. Good shower and comfortable, clean bathroom. Really ample storage space. The room (a superior room) was north facing on the second floor with a lovely view. Even though the main road through Colwall is close by it was very quiet and we had a good night's sleep, There is ample spacious parking but hotel is just 100 metres or so from Colwall railway station so it would be possible to enjoy it car-free if you wanted to (there are through-trains to Worcester, Birmingham, Oxford, Reading , London and locally to Malvern, Ledbury and Hereford). We dined at the restaurant and both the wine we chose and the food were very good and nicely served. Breakfast was good too, and we enjoyed a very nice omelet , cooked to order.
A lift to the 2nd floor, were it possible to install one, would improve accessibility.

Quiet area, location good need a car to get around. Great if you have a dog and want to stay away. Lovely old building. Younger staff very friendly and welcoming, more mature in the team seemed a bit intrusive. I got lost and wandered into a empty dining room and they chased me asking me what I wanted! Rooms spotlessly clean
Bedrooms have been updated and look like “Hotel Du Vin brand” style. Our Bathroom was not updated more 70’s style, the shower did not stay up so we had to hold it. Beds mattress was uncomfortable. Very clean but drooping at sides.

Breakfast - good breakfast. We expected continental breakfast after receiving emails from Booking.Com to that effect, in the end we had a good choice of yogurt/fruit/muesli and excellent sausage and bacon too. Good coffee and great friendly service. Dinner- excellent veggy pie dish - really very good. Great service from the young waiter as well as super great bar skills! Room - good value. Warm, comfortable, relaxing and reflected the photo. Ok some may highlight this or that issue but it was great. Staff were really friendly and helpful Bar had a good atmosphere and felt to be popular with locals which was good.
Nothing.
