Setting and the whole Manor is comfy and safe. I've stayed several times over the last years (pre covid) and brought my 12yr old grandson to stay on our way to visit family & friends, for Christmas. Heating via the air conditioner was good in the room. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and my grandson enjoyed every mouthful. My smaller breakfasts with mushrooms & hashbrowns were good. Thanks staff - well done.

Dinner evening choices were not as good but still well presented. I have allergies to tomatoes, eggs & chicken plus 12year old grandson wanted plain burger but it wasn't really suitable. Staff were polite and service was quick. Bathroom: Shower head is far too big for the glass shower wall. Halve the size to a more direct, small round shower head and save the flooding effect! Suggestion about the shower/bathroom/air: no extractor meant steam and damp was extreme. Therefore, provide bathrooms like that with a special fan unit (we have basic ones that work well - in Australia) to suck in damp & steam to keep air fresh and clear. Water temperature was good though - no heating caused the steam. And the towel rail didn't work.

When we returned late at night there was no lighting in the car park And as we had been checked by family member as it was a surprise birthday party first then surprise stay got my husband at the hotel. We did not know where the room was there was no one on reception we had to wait quite a while and then we were just told where to go with no help. The corridors were confusing so some assistance would have been appreciated !! Non existent light was actually dangerous as we could not see to the steps to the front doors !!

We was under the impression by a lot of the staff getting told that the spa & outside pool Was open and lit up until 10pm on the Saturday. To be told that it was shutting at 8pm. This was a august booking (summer time in the uk) and stays light till atleast 9 when it’s sunny so I don’t understand this really, also the towels you had to bring down to use from your room… but they was more like the size of a flannel. The menu reason I booked this hotel for my new birthday and first year wedding anniversary was because the outdoor pool.. but I feel like this was mislead information all day ( couldn’t get outside to use it till 5pm due to it raining heavy all day too so only had a couple hours out there before the manager come and started pulling the pool cover over.

Hotel reception is beautiful as are the gardens. Staff are polite and attentive, on check in I was helped with my bags as my room was a distance to reach. My bed was small but it was comfortable. Room was ok. Swimming pool a good size and nice cool temperature.

WiFi was problematic in my room, I had a webinar to attend and missed it due yo lack of WiFi! There is no where to hang clothes in my room. Hooks behind bathroom door would tear a dress. Only 1 towel to use in room and was for swimming pool. The receptionist did say I could ask for more towel after swimming. I was tired after long drive, and instead I grabbed a towel from my car. This is unusual to have to do. May I suggest having at least 2 bath towels in room, one for pool.

Set in a more rural location the drive up to the hotel was stunning. Lined each side of the road with trees you could feel the grandness even before you stepped foot inside. There were plenty of plants and flowers which were very well maintained by the gardeners. Beautiful colours and an array of different plants. Upon entering through the grand entrance doors, you are greeted by beautiful decor throughout the building. Textured wallpaper and lavish furnishings really made you feel you were staying in luxury. The room was plenty spacious, the bedding freshly pressed and soft. The mattress was extremely comfortable which made for an amazing night's sleep. The pool and spa facilities were wonderful with an option to go in an outdoor spa pool. I would definitely recommend this hotel for any occasion and I hope to come back again in the near future. There was a slight issue I had which was quickly resolved with no hesitation.

We loved the outdoor jacuzzi, I've stayed here a few times and it wasn't ready before. Was lovely to sit in the evening sun.

We were advised we needed to pay £50 deposit EACH on arrival. As single mums having a well deserved spa treat this was very extortionate as we were sharing a room? £100 out of the money we had for our dinner and drinks in the evening. The reception staff allowed us to pay £50 which was nice of them, I think £50 per person is a bit much. I booked 4 rooms for 8 people over Xmas before and didn't have to pay anything like that.

Beautiful decor inside, splendid gardens, the ambiance relaxing, a very welcoming hotel, the staff were all lovely & willing to help wherever possible. A good size gym with all the basics you would need, nice swimming pool & hot tub, the outdoor spa provided a choice of seating in both sun or shade including swing chairs & sofas, the pool wasn’t too cold & also had jets. A good choice of buffet breakfast, the lunch & dinner was superb.

It’s not suitable for wheelchair users or anyone with difficulty walking, everywhere is only accessed by steps/stairs. There are no lifts & no ground floor rooms.

Location was perfect for my purpose, beautiful building and lovely grounds. The pool and spa area was brilliant, if I had more time I would have been to the gym for certain. My room was very spacious and well appointed, very comfortable bed. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff at Guildford Manor were lovely and very helpful, especially the restaurant/bar team.

The property was a little tired, lots of stains on the carpets throughout. Ideally would have liked to have breakfast but as I was travelling for work I had to leave before it was available. WiFi in my room was patchy, and this did hinder me somewhat whilst trying to work remotely.

I was travelling for a family funeral, so an unusual hotel experience for me as a customary business traveller. However, although I was a late arrival (the team had tried to contact me en route to establish if I needed a dinner), the Reception team (Rishi) couldn’t have been more helpful in helping me resolve an issue for the funeral before he went off-duty that evening. Thank you so much!

It was quite a long way to the room, with no lifts available to the 2nd floor. Not an issue for me, but could have been for others. Would recommend an advisory to other guests prior to arrival. I think the room itself was originally designed for a different furniture layout (lights, electric sockets, etc), but was adequate for my needs. Also tried to book into the Spa during my stay, but was too late to secure a reservation… great to see somewhere being well utilised, but would recommend booking well ahead if wishing to ensure a treatment during your stay.

The hotel was very nice with wonderful garden surrounded by nature, decoration was very nice and the family room big and nice. The restaurant was good and the food and staff professional.

The heat was on only on specific times. And for the rest of the time you could only use the small extra heater. Some nights were cold. In general at night there was not any lights out at the garden so I had to use my flashlight to make my was to the entrance.
