Comfortable country house, beautiful location, staff are so welcoming, food is great. Facilities are clean and tidy, beds are comfortable and the rooms are styled nicely

Some parts of the room were a little tired. Would benefit from a bit of paint touch ups in places and perhaps usb charging points. Overall though, the hotel is stunning, well maintained and charming

wonderful grounds, buildings, nicely decorated, room was spacious for a standard room, staff very friendly & helpful & professional, food - breakfast was good & plenty of choice, did not eat dinner as our stay was to attend a family gathering elsewhere, the hotel was exceptional for the price & would not hesitate to stay there again.

window had screen film on as had a balcony outside, ( not for use of our room ) so understand put there for privacy but it was tatty & opening the sash window did not allow you to take in the wonderful view of the grounds as it only opened a few inches, I would suggest maybe an internal shutter & no film would be a better option?. noisy fan & mirror light not working ( we informed staff) quite a hard mattress but that is a personal dislike.

Location was quiet, grounds were nice, the decor felt festive. It was only a short drive into Woking. There was a nice walk into the local village through the golf course. Staff were nice, food was very good, including with gluten free options and there was a nice choice of breakfast each day. There was a bar to chill out in too.

It was a little draughty at times in public places as its an old building, the lounge didn't have a door that was closed, but went into reception area. There were fireplaces, but sadly no nice warm fire - especially as it was a very cold damp weekend. There was a wedding fayre on the Sunday, so we had to sit in the bar area of the hotel as we wanted to stay at the hotel that day as the main lounge area was in use. Room was cosy and bathroom nice but the bed was not that comfortable and there were no spare pillows in the room, so we had to ask reception, and the storage in the room was very minimal. There was a decent cupboard but no chest of drawers, only hangers. That is just a small detail though.

We have stayed here before several times and the staff have always been friendly and efficient. The hotel and grounds are well kept and tidy. Our room was an upgrade courtesy of the hotel manager Ian which was very much appreciated as it was our wedding anniversary, the room has it's own balcony overlooking the gardens. The food was good with a fair amount of choice and on a par with other hotels and restaurants cost wise. Gorse Hill hotel isn't too far from Woking and is in an ideal location. I would stay here again.

Not too much not too like. The one niggle could be the small steps into the bathroom, you need to make sure you pay attention but this could just be our room. We did and no trips hapoened.

The second hotel room you gave us was fine and met expectations. Breakfast was also very good

I booked a Lodge room initially- it was over £200/night.... we were not impressed!! The room was very small, with a small cheap looking double bed, dirty carpets, dirty dingy bathroom - I have seen better Travel Lodge rooms! We phoned reception and complained about the room, the receptionist offered a room in the main building which was clean and comfortable at no extra charge. We were very surprised that you were letting out rooms like the one we were offered in the Lodge - I don't think it does the hotel any favours and how you had the gaul to ask £200 for the night for such a room was very surprising and some what infuriating

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. I made a last minute request for a twin room which was accommodated. The room was comfortable and the bathroom spacious. We were able to source fresh milk for our morning tea. In the evening, my sisters and I were able to meet up in the spacious lounge, order food, and enjoy drinks at the bar. We appreciated the relaxing, comfortable and lovely surroundings. The food was of quality and enjoyed by all of us. The breakfast was fresh and overall good, although the scrambled egg was not soft, and there was not the choice of a grilled tomato. Coffee was fresh and good. Breakfast staff were attentive.

I've had better cooked breakfasts elsewhere - see above. No other complaints.

Lovely building and I had a very nice ground floor room in the quiet Lodge, which was also very suitable for my dog. The bar area was lovely and welcoming.

Property was absolutely fine but because I arrived at night, when it was very dark, there could have been a simple map to show me where the Lodge was and how far away it was from the main hotel. Apart from this one minor omission, I had a very good overnight stay.

Lovely setting - attractive grounds. Attractive/comfortable building and reception rooms. Nearly all of the staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. Delicious food - good service. Light, airy room for the art workshop in the conference centre. Good facilities over there too. Facilities in the room were generally good.

My room was rather chilly in the evenings. An extra throw (or a thicker one) would have been appreciated for the bed. Shower/bath were rather slippery to get out of - could do with a handle inside on the wall and/or an actual non-slip bathmat. 😄

Third time of staying which says a lot for the hotel. The grounds are lovely and large, there is ample parking and the rooms we've had so far have all been spacious. There is a handy bar and restaurant.

This time of staying we were upstairs in the lodge - which to be honest has got a most unsuitable staircase. It is narrow and steep and difficult to negotiate even with an airline type cabin bag. I think this should be pointed out on the website and at check-in and if the guests felt they couldn't deal with it then an alternative room or assistance be given. The stairs would be very difficult to negotiate for anyone with a large suitcase, elderly or even with small children. To say again, this comment only applies to the upstairs of the lodge, the hotel rooms are not affected.

Decor throughout the hotel, especially public areas was superb. Very clean everywhere. Food tasty although desserts rather expensive for size. Grounds lovely. Was at the Garden Suite for training all day and those facilities also excellent. Staff all very professional.

Difficult finding the main entrance in the dark. Walked around the site until I found it. A sign on the door saying welcome or reception would be great. Bedroom 9 - very squeaky floor boards & right above reception. Slightly shabby bath.
