A question of what you are looking for and why. In our case we needed a comfortable place to lay our heads and park the car safely and securely. We had plans to eat and be entertained elsewhere so sleep and parking were the priority. The photos and reality have drifted quite far apart in the venue needing some TLC. It’s a bit tatty and rough around the edges but I must say, it was the most comfortable bed I have slept in away from home. So much so I struggled to get up and out on departure day! The remote check in process was seamless and - after an earlier than expected arrival - our hosts facilitated an early check in that ensured we made our commitments in Hereford town centre without the need to rush. A packaged breakfast was waiting outside our rooms in the morning and was a nice balance between healthy and value for money. It made for a perfect start to the day; Porridge, yoghurt, cereal bar, fruit, orange juice, pain au chocolat. Parking was to the rear on pebble hard standing. Plenty of space and no concerns for safety and security. In summary, I definitely get the impression the B&B has seen better times but rest assured, if safety, comfort, cleanliness and value for money are your priority, Hopbine House delivers by the bucket load. Thanks to our hosts for having us. M & Family

We had four family groups meeting together. Travelling form 3 directions after work meant late arrivals and check in which Doreen made herself available for. There was parking on site for all our cars. Doreen had arranged for all the rooms to be near each other and all on the ground floor which was great for me with my arthritic hip and my eldest daughter who has Long Covid. The rooms were all very spacious with lovely four poster beds and large settee style single beds and all en suite. Continental style breakfast was served to the room each morning, nice and early with variety day to day. Doreen even made special arrangements for us to have space to celebrate our youngest daughter's birthday together. We hope you thoroughly enjoyed your piece of birthday cake, Doreen! Hopbine House is very well situated at the northern side of Herford with easy access to the A49 and other major roads for visiting tourist destinations.

Nothing to dislike.

The lady directed us to her and waited outside for us to arrive . We were given our key and told all the information which was very helpful . Our room was very large with a choice of beds . Very comfortable sleep . Hot water for the bath was plentiful. Car park to the rear of the house more than ample. We will not hesitate to book and stay there again , we enjoyed it . Breakfast was not a cooked breakfast due to Covid but a packed breakfast placed outside our door . It was alot that we took some with us to stop and eat on the way home.

Absolutely nothing everything was fine .

My daughter and I stayed in room 4, it was spacious with a lovely 4 poster bed and a large single bed. The bathroom was large and had a fantastic whirlpool bath and a separate shower. There was a door leading to a lovely garden, I imagine it would look beautiful during the summer, it was great to be staying somewhere you could privately access the grounds directly from your room. Doreen, our host was fantastic allowing us a late checkout as we were staying there due to being stranded when storm Bert flooded the rail tracks. We also received a lovely packed breakfast which was left outside our door in the morning. Heating was provided by a plug in blow heater which we found fine to use, it heated the room quickly and we soon found we had to turn it off as it got too warm! This hotel is not a 5* luxury, upmarket, marbled, place to stay but it is definitely where I would choose to book every time I go back to Hereford! It has everything you need, in a beautiful setting, with a fabulous host, hence top marks in all categories. See you again soon Doreen ☺️

I have nothing negative to say.

Our room, no six, was large and comfortable, had everything we needed. Water was hot, we had two large comfortable armchairs. It was great to open the french windows and sit outside. Breakfast items, delivered each morning, were more than enough.

The decor was a bit tired but was ok. It would have been nice to actually see some staff but Yvonne was helpful on the phone and gave us clear check-in instructions..

Excellent safe parking. Great position for the river Wye(I’m an angler on a two day trip). Packed breakfast suited my needs and it was plenty for the day. Comfortable bed. Nice bath/shower. Priced correctly. Happy to visit again.

I didn’t like the impersonal reception. You have to phone for entry into reception and you’re then given your room number and access is by way of a key safe. Also there is no signage as to where your room is. That would be easy to remedy. The hotel is hidden behind a tall hedge and the signage for the hotel is along that hedge and is difficult to see if you’re concentrating on the main road and it’s many traffic lights etc. FYI it’s directly opposite the Vauxhall garage.

The property had a lovely feel about it Beautiful scenery fab location Lovely feel to the rooms breakfast In a bag daily Really thoughtful breakfast , healthy Rooms cleaned daily Come and go as you please Doreen is a fab host It is a 1902 building, and very quirky Rustic and lovely on my arrival I had a deer come up to my window literally Dinmpre hill is not far , taxis are reasonable into town too

There was nothing to dislike I am hoping when I go back in August the lawns are cut so I can sit out in the gardens they are beautiful I think it was. The time of year or for the gorgeous deer to Roam free with some protection

I loved this place. It was easy to find . Easy to get ring to get room key . The lady was lovely . I loved the old hotel feel. The room was large and the bed was amazing. The bathroom- although dated , the shower was lovely . The breakfast in the mornings were great . Really nice idea . I really loved staying here with my son . Thank you

Unfortunately the room was a bit full of spiders and cobwebs, I don’t mind them but if someone who didn’t like them , then that would be a disaster. A few of the lights didn’t work and had to put on toilet light to see to make a cup of tea .

Basic accommodation with access via a code for the door, obtained by phone. a continental breakfast is placed outside your door at 0730, which means you can get on with your trip as early as you like. Well placed on the outskirts of town, so ease access to wherever you want ot go.

Only concern is not sure if anyone actually stays in the property at night, must check this, thinking of fire evacuation procedures. |It is always good to have someone to guide you, if required.

Beautiful little place. The room was lovely & cosy. The bed was so comfortable. Not too far to the town centre, approximately just over a mile, which was a nice walk. The host was lovely & helpful. Had to phone her to get the code to get into the property.. No cooked breakfast, which we were aware of, but they leave a bag full of goodies, including porridge, orange juice, breakfast bars, every morning. Would definitely return ☺️

Nothing. All good.
