The hotel is lovely - the interiors are warm and luxurious. The gardens and views are superb, any time of the year. Most of the staff members are very friendly and professional. The management team goes out of their way. The food is not up to standard (either breakfast or dinner). There are many outstanding restaurants in Inverness, and Ness Walk really needs to relook their restaurant offering.

Staff usually go out of their way, however, when we left, they all stood by and watched my husband drag suitcases from the reception to the car, in the rain, without any offer to assist in any way. This is not in keeping with the management, who set a great example for customer service.

Location is an easy walk from Inverness shops and train station.... if the weather is good which fortunately it was during my visit. Otherwise only a short taxi ride. Gated entrance is good.. so quite secure. Breakfast was excellent, service levels were high throughout the hotel. Location by the river is excellent.

Although the room/suite was a great size and the bathroom was top quality, I did not appreciate the slanting roofs in the room which made for a very precarious existence for my kids and I as we are all tall. we had a few accidental bangs and near misses. I would not want this type of ceiling on my next visit. Otherwise an excellent room ... somewhat noisy at times as the lift was right outside the entrance to the room.

The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. It’s cosy, the staff are personable. The lunch and breakfast were superb. Our bedroom was absolutely stunning. The bed was so comfortable. This was our final day of a 7 day tour of Scotland and the perfect sleep was just what we needed. Our bed was so wide, so luxurious and most importantly to me the pillows were just perfect. The shower was powerful and had the option of shower head or hand held shower. The location, ambience and coziness of this hotel made it the perfect end to a perfect holiday. Thank you Ness Walk for making the ending of our honeymoon perfect . We will definitely be back. 100% recommended

Nothing. It was perfect

This is a special place. The experience really begins as you walk through the front doors and are warmly welcomed by the check in staff and the concierge. A chilled glass of very good Champagne is on offer which is enjoyed in the very comfortable lounge. Your bags are whisked away without fuss to be reunited as you are shown to your room. We didn't eat this time, but previously, I had the best fillet steak in the beautiful dining room. The rooms are spacious, luxuriously furnished and the beds are perfect. The breakfast buffet is something to behold (although not my thing) and the traditional cooked Scottish breakfast is of high quality, and very well cooked. We like to stay 2 or 3 times a year and it never gets boring.

There is not a lot to not like.

We were greeted very warmly by the staff with two glasses of champagne and a smile. The check in went smoothly and we were able to instantly book for dinner that night. Mark showed us to our room and was very personable and knowledgable about the location and facilities. The hotel is expansive and quiet. Enabling you to feel tucked away whilst still being within a quick walk to all amenities. The hotel was in an excellent location, a small stroll to some great cafes and restaurants in a safe part of town. Would highly recommend.

We stay here 2 or 3 times a year and the standards are always consistently high. The staff are all excellent but the front desk team and concierge are exceptional. This hotel is worthy of its 5 star rating and the staff really do take it up a notch. Our standard double room was very well appointed with everything you would expect. The bathroom has a bath, which is nice and not always the case is other hotels. Super king bed with high quality linens. Coffee machine etc. Breakfast is substantial and of high quality. The fresh berries in the help yourself buffet were amazing.

There is nothing really to not like. The winter rates are very favourable and so you can experience the full package but for a non peak rate.

The staff are very friendly, helpful, and always happy to assist you on the best way to enjoy the city. Spacious, comfortable, and clean rooms. Lovely area and great location for walking. Despite the negatives, I would come back again but make better choices.

- Service in restaurant/bar is generally unsatisfactory. It depends on the staff available during your visit. Which is unacceptable for a hotel of this rating. - In-room dining service is horrible. Overpriced, very limited items after 9-10 PM. Cold sandwiches that should definitely not cost over 5 pounds. Top that with a "tray charge" that makes zero sense. - Breakfast is boring, repetitive, and very limited. Not to mention the inconsistency in service and meal preparation. Definitely not worth it when there are plenty of options near by. - Eager to try their restaurant Torrish? Don't! The place lacks any atmosphere and the food quality is average. Not worth the high price.

What did we not like. From the moment we turned up the staff were so friendly and welcoming, the lovely Monica came and talked to us while we were being checked in and someone else served us champagne and a soft drink for the wife. Our room was amazing and they did a fantastic job laying out the flowers, chocolates and rose petals for our 20th anniversary. Nothing was too much, the room was amazing with the patio and the breakfast the next morning was great. Will definitely be coming back.

We had to go home....

The location was perfect. I loved the treats that they leave you in the room when you check-in. I also LOVED the fudge they give you at turn down... so incredibly fresh and delicious! Plus, in the room there was a shoe horn that was handy for my boots and they even had an umbrella. The bed was marvelously comfortable. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating for my early check-in. I was exhausted from my trans-Atlantic flight and the staff made me very comfortable while I waited.

There was a family staying down the hall and they had toddler children that would run up and down the hallway and once, one of them knocked on my door. This is in no way reflective of the hotel or staff, just poor parenting and the failure of the governess.

Where do I start? My sister and I booked a one-night stay at Ness Walk, and we loved every second of it. The staff were extremely friendly and nice and also very helpful. The room is spacious, the windows are huge, and the view is serene. It was exceptionally clean, and the bed was so comfortable. We ordered room service twice; we ordered dinner from the all-day menu I believe, and it was really good. My sister had the burger, which she loved, and I really enjoyed the lentil soup. We ordered breakfast the next morning, and it was just as good. The eggs benedict, pastries, toast and the bowl of fruits were really good. Eating in the room with the view was actually relaxing. The hotel is a nice distance from the city centre; you can walk along the river ness and experience the view. Overall, I have absolutely no complaints.

nothing.
