The room was clean ,bed very comfy and was great value for money . Breakfast was adequate and had all you would need . For the centre of Keswick with parking this was ideal and would stay again . Expectation wise if you want a comfy room that’s clean and bright and what you can pay for it then I will check here first . The hotel main areas like staircase and reception are a bit dated but you don’t lounge about there! and they have modernised all other areas with nice bar and breakfast room so don’t be put off with the negative comments

Shower cubicle could have been bigger but that’s me looking to fill this box in 🙂

Great location and the sole staff member was a really great guy, didn't catch his name but may have been South African? The hotel was dead as it was early in the season so dinner wasn't an option however price did reflect this, I paid about 70 quid...in high season its a lot more. The scores reflect price paid, at the high season rates my score would be very different. Breakfast was excellent

Not much, as mentioned, dinner wasn't an option but there were plenty of places to go for a takeaway. It is a bit old and run down however at the price I paid it was perfectly acceptable

Breakfast was quite good. The location of the hotel was very good. The room could have used a tub, considering the price. Like all English motels/hotels we have seen, the hot/cold water controls were too non-standard and hard to figure out.

Parking, parking, parking. The facility had too little space to provide adequate parking for all guests. We had to walk two city blocks from parking to the hotel, and one guest with an oversized car was allowed to dominate the available parking for more than 24 hours.

Loved the old style of the rooms (grand wooden bed and furniture) keeping a theme of the house it's in and giving character. Breakfast was fab and staff friendly was able to leave bag as checkout at 1030 and bus wants sue till 1400. Position of hotel was great, next to a bus stop and close to town and great views of hills and Fitz park.

WiFi was patchy and kept dropping, as I'm on O2 and signal is bad I rely on WiFi connection when in Keswick.

This is a smashing hotel. Second time we have visited and glad to say it was still as good. It’s in a great location just on the edge of the main Keswick shopping/eating district. Parking is not abundant but if you arrive at a decent time you should get a spot. The hotel is nipping clean and the staff are lovely, particularly the young lady on reception who was always very pleasant and keen to assist. Our room was compact but comfortable and afforded us gorgeous views of both Skiddaw and the Grizedale round. Breakfast was on a pre-book basis so you selected what you wanted the night before and what time you wanted to eat. It worked very well and made the whole social distancing / COVID situation more manageable. Excellent value for money - the Lakes is becoming increasingly bonkers price wise so it’s good to know some hotels are trying to keep a sensible handle on this. Didn’t have evening meal but there is a small bar area and a very pretty outdoor terrace so if the sun is out, a glass of vino al fresco is a nice touch. Thoroughly recommended.

The other half kept clattering his knee off the bed frame every time he got up to go to the bathroom as there wasn’t much space between the end of the bed and the wardrobe……this would be immediately resolved with a different style of bed? Minor gripe…..and his own daft fault on one occasion! :-)

Location is spot on and breakfasts are great, all the staff are very friendly and polite

Unfortunately the main let down was water pressure making it virtually impossible to have a shower, this was reported upon arrival and Unfortunately no action was taken, as a regular visitor to Keswick this one criticism would prevent me from staying again until it was resolved, I did voice this to staff as well so really hope it has been resolved

We had a fabulous room with a sitting area just outside it. Very central in Town Centre. Very clean, quiet and outside space. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Nothing was a problem.

The car park was quite small and tight if you have a big car. Unfortunately we would have loved to have had dinner in the hotel but don't serve on a Tuesday evening. But there are loads of restaurants within a few minutes walk. So not a problem.

The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The room was large and airy. The bed was very comfortable and the location of the hotel was perfect. The free parking was great for us as we managed to get a good spot. Breakfast was excellent.

It would have been useful to have more hooks on the backs of bedroom and bathroom doors for coats and towels. And maybe longer towel rails for drying towels duing the day.

The location is perfect for exploring Keswick and surrounding areas. The hotel was dated but clean and comfortable. I checked in late as I was attending a wedding but I contacted the hotel in advance and the staff member I spoke to explained there would be no one on site after 2130 so they left a key In a safe box to accommodate me. I was travelling alone so the room met my needs as a single traveller. The breakfast offered was fantastic.

Really lovely stay, great location, friendly staff and lovely breakfast. Would stay again.

Nothing to dislike, just found the bed a bit hard for our taste and husband is allergic to feathers but they were only in one pillow each, not the whole bedding set, so we set them aside easily. Also felt the room was really warm even though the rad wasn’t on, which depending on your temperature preference, could be either a positive or a negative.
