We booked the Glencoe for a stay over New Years. In advance of our stay, the upfront communication were great. Our hosts, Fiona, Ben and Dexter the dog were so welcoming and friendly, they really did make you feel at home. The hotel is in an ideal location, being just a few minutes walk from the centre of Keswick and all it has to offer. It’s within easy reach of the start of the Keswick to Threlkeld trail too if you fancy stretching your legs. We had a triple room to house my wife, three year old son, dog and I, and we found this perfectly comfortable for our stay. The breakfast service was something to truly admire. A great selection of fruits and cereals, with a cooked breakfast menu to choose from. The hosts are proud of using local produce and there really isn’t anything better that good local produce, cooked perfectly. The Hikers breakfast will set you up for a day on the fells. We can’t wait to return!

Travelling alone can be a little daunting, but Fiona was so welcoming I felt comfortable straight away. The room itself was lovely, and spotlessly clean. Special mentions to the massive bed which was like sleeping on a cloud, and the very powerful shower which was just what I needed after a day of getting drenched in the fells! The location was very handy for everywhere I needed to go, and there was a lot of choice for breakfast. Will definitely go back next time I'm in the area.

Ben cooks wonderful breakfasts and they are both so accommodating (anything you want, they're willing to try!). Of the 3 weeks we have spent traveling, this was by far the best place and experience! Fiona had great suggestions for what to do around town, got us discounts for a boat tour (highly recommend), Ben got us a coupon for free coffees (we bought a great scone!) and overall they provided top notch 5-star service. Lastly, it was my birthday on our last morning there and they decorated the dining room and made a sticky ginger cake and sang happy birthday to me. Such a wonderful memory! I can't wait to return. They are such a treasure in our world and I'm lucky to have met them.
I can't really complain!

Ben & Fiona were friendly & helpful hosts. Loved the top-floor single room - which actually has a fantastically comfortable double bed & a good sized sink in the room, as well as a spotless private bathroom one floor down on a nice spacious landing. Closer into town than I expected - and only about 10 mins walk to the lake shore if you take the shortcut by the side of the church. Also superb breakfast options - staying here was a real treat.

Just returned from a wonderful 2 night stay at Glencoe. Fiona and Ben were most welcoming, and were super helpful from the get go. We stayed in room 4 which was on the top floor, it had the most beautiful view of the mountains. It was very comfortable, with a comfy bed, generous tea tray and a lovely bathroom with a great shower - it was also the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in! On top of this the breakfast (which was included in the price) was lovely, my partner and I both had the full English and I also sampled the special of smoked salmon and scrambled egg - a must have if it's on the menu! There was also toast, yogurt, cereal, juices, fruit salad and freshly brewed coffee on top, it really set us up for the day. We never had any trouble finding a place to park, and the location was less than 5 mins walk into the centre. Bonus points for Dexter the dog who was a great breakfast companion and always up for a bit of attention. Will be booking again when we next venture up to the Lakes!

this guest house is beautifully presented, with considerate touches that make for a very comfortable stay. The in room refreshment tray was well stocked with a variety of options and the bedroom was very comfortable. There were additional items for dogs such as towels and snacks. The food (breakfast) was of a high standard with plenty of choices for a help yourself buffet as well as options for individually cooked meals. The staff (owners) were warm, welcoming and helpful.

The room was very comfortable and cleaned daily. Ben and Fiona are great hosts, very friendly and helpful in every way. There are a lot of choices for breakfast, it was cooked to perfection. Very pleasent stay. Great location too. Thanks for having us 😊
The tv was very small but it wasn't that much of an issue as we were only in the room for showering and sleep.
