amazing views, clean and modern decor while also having great character. Close walk to local walking paths, hotel/pub restaurants, while also feeling very secluded. Netflix accessible on tv, and Wi-Fi that actually worked the entire time! lots of little extras like coffee and tea refills to help yourself to, ironing board and iron for communal use. Smooth running with everything thought of, and beautiful cooked breakfast. staff were so friendly and kind. we will definitely be back. amazing affordable luxury.
literally the only thing we would suggest was a later brekky option! brekky from 8-9am for us later holiday risers and late brekky eaters felt a bit too early to be indulging in a cooked breakfast. that’s the only suggestion we have!

The room was nice, however, a little noisy due to guest staying in the adjacent and above rooms. My partner also found a used plaster on the bedside light switch which was concerning but did not affect our stay (the rest of the room was clean apart from the usual wear and tear stuff). The bed was super comfy. The breakfast was lovely and the lady who served us (sorry I do not remember her name) was very friendly and chatty. Very good base to go up Catbells (you can go the whole way on foot without having to walk on the roads). You can walk into Keswick along a path between two field full of sheep which is perfectly lake district :)
The noise from the other guests but this can not be helped by the owners.

From start to finish the little birthday getaway was great, easy to book, fab communication and instructions. Check in was easy, room was big and bathroom was lovely, shower was great. Comfy beds and really nice smelling, comfy bedding. Breakfast was great, staff were really helpful. Great location only a short walk to Keswick. Great onsite parking with cctv too. I would highly recommend Rickerby to anyone.
They wasn’t much to dislike, if I could find something it could possibly be that we could hear the room next to us laughing and talking, but this it to be expected. There isn't any usb plugs in the rooms, but this is minor.

The breakfasts were very good. The room was nice and the bed very comfirtable. Nice views from room windows.
The impersonal entry system. No contact with hosts until breakfast, although contact details were posted should help be needed. The entry code being posted on the door raises questions about the security! Only one chair in the room, no vanity unit, mirror way too high on the shower room wall. Very noisy room neighbours on the last night until 1am but can't hold the hosts responsible for this, just selfish human beings! Otherwise everything was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful when contact was made. Phil can do a perfect poached egg.

Great Location, self check in which didn't bother us even though I've noticed in reviews that this has annoyed some people. Personally don't see a problem with it. The staff in dining room for breakfast were lovely and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast itself was fabulous.. Great choice of foods to choose from and suit everyone. Rooms lovely, clean and comfortable.. Have now recommended to friends who regularly stay in this area to visit family.
Only problem was that one of our rooms was in Room 1 on ground floor and got alot of noise from a family room above. We did take this up with owners at breakfast the next morning and they said that they were going to make changes to rooms and their usage of family rooms in the next few months which would help with this situation.. Would be nice if owners were to make use of the front garden with a little seating area for guests to use in good weather. On the whole a great place to stay, will definitely return as a very quiet place to stay with a short flat walk of only 15 mins into centre of Keswick, would recommend.

The location is excellent, a very easy, short walk away from Keswick centre. I also really liked, personally, the extra tea, coffee, milk, etc available outside of hours, if required. A nice extra wee touch!!! The young man who we met every morning was extremely pleasant, however the young woman and who I believe was the owner were asking about our day and plans and very chatty and nice, too.
There wasn't really anything we didn't like, we felt everything was in the information sent in advance, to prepare you for the visit. The only tiny issue that I had, although my husband didn't experience the same thing, was that I felt the shower tray slippy after washing my hair because there wasn't an anti slip mat. As I said though, my husband didn't experience it, not a massive issue.

The rooms were very clean, loved that there was unlimited teas and coffees, ideal location, we went for dinner at the farmers inn I think it was called, lovely food too. We did the via Ferrata at honistor slate mine so didn't go out at night but the TV in the room was great, plenty choice, and breakfast was lovely! The bed was really comfy too!
It's nothing major but because it was the hottest day of the year we found the room to be really hot even with the windows open, but again wouldn't put us off staying again.

Good location, easy to find. Clean and tidy.
Was looking to do some laptop work in the evening and no desk/dressing table or table in room to work on, had to sit on the bed with laptop on my knee. Was located in separate dining room for breakfast (due to room that I stayed in) the other dining room wasn’t full, and would have been nice as a solo traveller to be sat with others, unfortunately all the other people using the dining room that I used were on a later sitting, so was eating alone for breakfast ☹️

We stayed for 3 nights this week, the breakfast was excellent as were all the staff. Parking at the property. The room was clean enough. Plenty supply of free tea and coffee. Fairly rural, not much to do nearby at night except the local pub, however was within a 30 minute walk of Keswick.
Overall the place needs a bit of tlc, it needs a clean and spruce up, the surfaces and carpet wasnt very clean in room. Our bed was too firm for me and so I didnt sleep very well at all.

Bedroom well equipped light and airy, clean, quiet, facilities good. Self-reception system worked well, adequate instructions sent for access etc. Very good breakfast, staff friendly , quick service. Would recommend Evening meals available at local pub close by.
Some way out of Keswick, transport needed if visiting town. Depends upon your visit purpose, Keswick can be very busy with parking difficulty at times, ideal if walking in area or using local marina.
