Breakfast was really good - good variety Very easy to get into and out of city centre by bus - bust stop round corner and they came every 5-10min and cheap to £4 return

Bathroom needing upgraded bath had rust on side and rust inside too though when may t it was okay - radiator rusty - water was roasting shower good - price didn’t reflect room - bar closed early came back from day in Liverpool and could not have a drink - most hotels I have stayed in will serve until resident goes to bed - not that we were staying late it was mainly a night cap - after a long day

This hotel is in the most beautiful location opposite the most delightful park. The park is full of life with families, joggers, dog walkers. There is plenty of parking nearby and it is very convenient for pubs, restaurants, cafes, walks etc. plus a lovely outdoor seating area in the grounds of the hotel. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The Beatles theme and memorabilia add a certain unexpected charm, including in the bedrooms. The room was exceptionally clean and fresh. The breakfasts were really delicious and not greasy at all. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and would be very happy to stay here again. An absolute bargain for the money.

Great, quiet location near to everywhere we needed to be for my friends wedding. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even lending the bridal team scissors and sewing kits as needed. The room was spacious enough and had everything we needed for our short stay. I liked the local memorabilia dotted around the hotel and noticed the hotel seems to be well maintained even in hallways.

I think they could benefit from putting some extra information in the rooms such as WiFi password, food/drinks menu for their restaurant, etc

Joan, Annie and Rob in particular were brilliant; so helpful, nothing too much to ask for; friendly, happy to chat while being totally professional. Comfortable beds. Excellent shower. Ample storage. Good lighting options. Great artefacts around the public rooms from Stuart Sutcliffe's career as a Beatle, his life and untimely death. Lovely view of Sefton Park from the second room. Ample parking (steep stairs to front door). Buses run close by for journeys into the city - 60 or 82. To Anfield, it's 30+ minutes via the 60 and the 27 at £2 per ticket or £5.50 for a day ticket. (March 2024)

Tiny things that didn't spoil my stay but might do, someone else's: toilet seat didn't fit properly, shower door didn't fully close, no shelf in shower for soap or shower gel etc, use of TV channels was confusing (old people alert!), party beneath our room was LOUD and we were given another room for the night (thank you) where the bathroom door had no mechanism to close it!

Staff were friendly and helpful even when there was a mix up with room allocation on arrival it was easily and quickly sorted. The cooked breakfast on Saturday was brilliant, I always judge a cooked breakfast by the poached eggs - these were done perfectly.

A very minor thing in our room - it would have been helpful to have the hooks for the bath towels on the inside of the bathroom door rather than the outside. A hook for coats or jackets in the room "hall way" would be helpful and as there were only 2 hangers in the wardrobe a couple more would be helpful too. For their own sake regarding maintenance we noticed the wall behind the bathroom door was damaged due to the door handle hitting the wall - if there was a door stop on the floor this will save their maintenance team the hassle of repairs.

A great character hotel, originally the family home of the Sutcliffe family, with plenty of history and interesting pictures, photos and memorabelia about the original fifth beatle, Stuart Sutcliffe, his life and connection to the Beatles. A hidden gem in a lovely setting, although backing on to busy Eggy Road, the hotel is situated on the edge of beautiful Sefton Park. It was surprisingly peaceful, in just a few short steps from the hotel you're by the boating lake, watching Liverpool life going bye. Julie and the staff were friendly and full of scouse character, the breakie was lovely, served overlooking the entrance to the park, they always had time for a chat and there was a treat for doggy boy at breakie too. A different hotel in the heart of South Liverpool. And we'll take up you're invite to pop back for a coffee when we're passing.. 😁

Having no stairs at home, the stairs were a challenge But after 3 days the walk to the top floor did us the world of good. Plus there were lots of interesting items to take a break and look at.

Friendly staff (Julie at breakfast was especially friendly and helpful). Short drive to the city centre and a nice range of beers on tap. Loads of photos and memorabilia dotted around made it feel different to other hotels (certainly made it extra exciting for the kids). Great that a family of 5 could be in the same room without paying a ridiculous rate.

Being fussy but as the windows in the rooms were single pane, the wind could be heard louder than usual (on the whole not a problem unless you have our over-dramtic children that think they are Shakespearian actors).

Location,as we were going on a cruise the following afternoon I was able to stay overnight and park car for 9 nights for similar cost as parking at port. We were able to view all the Beatles/ Stuart Sutcliffe memorabilia where he once lived in that property. Also dine in Lark Lane nearby. And visit Port Sunlight next day well worth a visit. Thanks Simon.

Had to swap bedroom late as loud cistern noise constantly running, night porter most helpful and into a huge room.Result.
