it was delightful. spacious and well equipped. So cosy and all of our needs thought of. simply wonderful. having our own entrance meant that we could come and go as we pleased and we were in the deluxe barn which meant that we had a small kitchen and a lovely lounge with exposed beams. Wi-Fi was strong and the bed very comfortable. we wished that we could have stayed for a longer visit. so wonderful to wake up to fields and the sheep and alpaca. It was windy and chilly but I imagine that it must be wonderful to sit on the patio with a glass of wine in warmer months.

only that the bathroom did not smell too good and it could do with a reed diffuser or something.

The room was well equipped with everything you could want for a stay. Plenty of food and drink was offered for a very generous ‘help yourself breakfast’ within the room. Gary and Jenny were helpful and very accommodating. Gary kindly gave us a lift to the local pub so we could relax and have a drink. He also told us about the interesting historic local figure, The Childe of Hale and showed us his statue and the cottage he lived in.

The bed was a little on the small side, meaning the duvet was also a little too small, too. The radiator in the bathroom didn’t work.

The room was lovely, very clean. We liked the self contained aspect, having our own entrance worked very well. The light was put on in our room every night when we returned, which meant we could see where we were going in the dark. It was quiet, warm and comfortable.

The toilet was wobbly, which needed to be fixed. The breakfast was continental with a choice of cereals, cereal bars, sweet pastries and fruit, perhaps having a toaster in the room for a savoury option might be possible, although this may have been thought about and considered a fire risk.

The room was lovely, cosy and well kept. The bathroom was modern and good-sized. The self-service breakfast was perfect for us, and they accommodated my dietary requirements well which is always a lovely added extra. Jenny and Gary were wonderful hosts, very welcoming, easy to talk to and were so accommodating and the location was beautiful. It felt like you were out in the middle of the countryside away from everyone and yet you were just a half hour train ride from Liverpool City Centre. Could not have asked for anymore and we will definitely be returning!

- Unique and a very pleasant experience from your bog standard hotels - Exceptional service - Friendly hosts and a relaxing location - Above and beyond breakfast options - really happy to see such variety. Everything from fruit, pastries, cereals, yoghurts

These are very small points - I think there was a slight leak in the left hand corner of the shower seal, but no doubt easy to remedy - Room had a little bit of ambient light leaking into the room at night, I wasn’t too fussed but some people may want or need thicker blackout blinds/curtains

Very welcoming and helpful hosts. Lovely cosy room in annex from main house (but still close if any problems). Lovely clean, crisp bedding and good hot shower. Fresh fruit at breakfast, plus cereals and yogurt etc., which suited us very well, plus variety of teas and coffee. Spotlessly clean.

Fragranced teas smelt lovely, but partner would have preferred 'ordinary' for breakfast (but only two-night stay, so not a real problem) Quite a way out of central Liverpool, so we needed to take taxis into town. However, we felt it was worth it for the very secure, on-site parking.

Lovely converted stable building, beautiful garden, restocked food and drinks every day, in beautiful countryside.

2 minor details that didn't detract from a 10/10 experience. The walls between the rooms are pretty thin - so you can hear what's going on next door, or their bathroom extractor fan. Second - a slight sewage smell on occasion from the bathroom. Very faint, but it was noticeable.

We slept for two nights in this little cottage, we liked: - the cottage is spacious - beds are good as such, though warm (memory foam?) - hosts are very friendly - Hale is nice little town with some nice pubs. 10 min walk, good food - good to visit Liverpool by bus or train - private, secured parking area

What could have been better: - we found the breakfast a bit limited, but it is just what you like of course. But I was happy that I has my own bread. There are though plenty of cereals, milk and fresh fruit. But no eggs, cheese or meats. - the table for breakfast, is really small - mattress is warm

I picked this accommodation because of its proximity to the airport and it’s excellent reviews. I really enjoyed my overnight stay here. The room was spacious, and spotlessly clean. It was very well supplied with everything needed for a continental breakfast and a microwave which I was encouraged to use if I didn’t want to go out for an evening meal. The hosts were very welcoming and ensured I had everything I needed. Couldn’t have been more helpful. The property also has secure car parking. Will definitely be staying again.
