It was clean and beautifully presented. Our room was spotless and the shampoo and shower gel were Molton Brown, a lovely tray of teas/coffees/biscuits were our and soft, thick towels. Absolutely lovely. A lot of attention had been paid to decoration and the white woodwork and walls just added to the appeal.

There were two flights of stairs up to the rooms, but I already knew about this, so wasn’t surprised, my friend, who doesn’t walk well found it a challenge, but she doesn’t like me to add her disability to anything we book and she coped slowly but admirably and has said she would happily go again.

Townend farm was well situated. We received a great welcome. The ensuite accommodation was very well maintained. It was light, airey & had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfasts were exceptional & our host was happy to make a couple of additions when requested. We received very useful suggestions & recommendations about the local area. Would definitely recommend this B&B.

Our visit to Townend Farm was excellent. Our host Julie gave us a warm welcome. She was very helpful with advice about the local area. She helped us with the local bus timetable even printing out the times. Also gave us good advice where to eat. The room was very clean and we had a great view from out of our window. The breakfast was excellent. So we loved everything, we had a very relaxing stay and would love to come back!

An excellent B&B. Julie was very hospitable and happy to help with any requests. Room was very modern, well equipped and clean. Bed very comfortable with a good shower. Enjoyed the cooked breakfast which was cooked to order and piping hot. We had a car but it's worth noting there are bus stops right outside the property with frequent buses.

We had a fantastic four night stay at this stunning farmhouse. Julie and Iain were amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. The large rosedale room was spotlessly clean. It had a comfy bed, sofa, large bathroom and a good view of the countryside. The breakfast was great too. This place had good wifi, free parking and a great location. We walked the Cleveland way to Staithes from our B&B with some panoramic views on the coastal route. A pub is nearby which was convenient and there’s a bus stop there too. We took a bus to Whitby and back on a day trip out. We would return here again. Highly recommend.

Stayed at Townsend Farm Bed and Breakfast for two nights in Sept. We had read the reviews and couldn't agree more with all the positive comments and excellent feedback. The location is great, easy driving to Whitby, Staithes and Robin Hood Bay Etc. There is also a great bus service that runs between, with a stop right outside the property. Townsend is perfectly positioned for walking as well, as just across the road is a track that leads you on to the Cleavland Way. We did a fantastic walk through Staithes, Port Mulgrave to Runswick Bay which is about 10 miles with fantastic views... we then jumped on the bus back! As mentioned the location is great, but what really makes Townsend so special and worth a visit is Julie the owner, what a lovely lady. Julie can't do enough to help and make you feel welcome. She has thought of everything in the rooms, which are super clean and comfortable. If there is anything you need she is happy to help. We were caught out by an unusually hot spell and didn't have any suncream, Julie came to the rescue! Special mention should be given to the breakfast as well... Fantastic choice and beautifully cooked local produce. There is a pub conveniently located across the road with a nice beer garden that does food and Julie can give lots of other suggestions for great local fayre. All in all, a fantastic stay and we would definitely recommend and stay again if we are in the area.

The bed was a bit small.

Julie was absolutely brilliant, lovely place to stay with clean rooms and the breakfast was amazing! We will definitely visit again, it was so peaceful with miles of fields giving a beautiful view. Close enough to many beautiful beaches and places to visit. Thank you so much

Julie the hostess is very friendly, welcoming & accommodating. Our room & very good sized en-suite were decorated & furnished to a high standard & both have stunning views of the North Yorkshire Moors.The shower cubicle was larger than most we have experienced in a B&B. The toiletries & a hairdryer are provided. The freshly cooked breakfasts are expertly cooked, nicely presented, delicious & promptly served each morning with a warm ‘good morning’ & a friendly smile, after being ordered the evening before. They set us up for the day!

The two flights of stairs were quite challenging unfortunately for my arthritic knees.

Wonderful place to stay everything was perfect, the hosts were really friendly and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be back to stay.
