The decor is great and eccentric, really made it interesting. The room was very clean, bathroom spotless. The location was perfect, was going to Wembley for boxing, so just far enough away not to be busy. Plus its very close to Edgware Station so again, great!

Unfortunately, it says check in time is 15.00 and I arrived 14.30 to see if I could check in slightly early as I needed to get to Wembley by 16.00. The owner/manager didn't arrive until 15.25. It was due to a traffic accident which is obviously not his fault, but I had no communication and was just sitting outside. I actually didn't get close to getting to the boxing on time, so missed the first fight. Would just have liked a message through the app or something.

This hotel is fantastic. I stayed here very recently (July 2024) and really enjoyed my stay. The whole hotel is filled with interesting antiques, old furniture, fabrics, paintings, ceramics, vintage lighting, stained glass, etc., which makes it one of the most interesting hotels I’ve ever stayed in while in London. The room was small but perfectly accommodated, with tea and coffee available, fast WiFi, a hot shower, a nice view, etc. The staff were really friendly too - even when I stumbled back to the room at almost 3am! The 24 hour service is great: no need to worry about getting back at a certain time or being shut out (an experience I’ve had in other “24 hour” hotels!). The location is excellent being so close to Edgware Road and to Paddington. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for a quirky and interesting stay in the heart of London.

I loved my stay, but if you want a big room, this may be an issue here - however, I did book a single room and I’m sure there are bigger ones!

We had stayed in the Calypso Nights room and it was beautiful, quiet and just enough for 1 night. Very spacious and the staff were helpful, bring your own milk for the room as this isn't supplied. The room can get quite cold in the evening however there were plenty of blankets. You have to leave your room key with reception when you want to go out.

The mattress wasn't very comfortable and the shower didn't have a lot of pressure.

I do not understand the negative reviews. There are so many identikit bland hotels out there, this is a welcome change. My room was "Swan Lake", which was like you imagine a room in Dracula's castle, really atmospheric. If that doesn't appeal, go to an Ibis. The bathroom was completely fine. The rooms are small, yeah. What did you want to do there? Play baseball? Both staff members I encountered were great. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel.

Nothing.

Lovely interior to the hotel, almost like a stately home. Paintings, antiques. Great room, really great. Best cheap hotel I’ve ever stayed in in London. Rooms all have names. I stayed in ‘swan lake’ it had hand painted murals on the wall and ceiling and a gorgeous bed.

Quirky decor, amazing building and very clean. Great location near the station. Harry the receptionist is a legend. Very good host. I would stay again. The water was super hot and the room was ambient. The art work and decor is very good, and a marked difference to bland chain hotels with white walls. Every room has personalised decorations. Late checkout time was appreciated. WIFI was good.

Being on the top floor is a bit of a vertical trek and not for the unfit or disabled. I would like to keep a key rather than having to leave it at reception. I felt sorry for Harry having to stay up all night waiting for guests! However, I appreciate the hotel is newly opened after refurbishment. Overall nothing to complain about, and this hotel is vastly superior to many of the offerings I have sampled in the local streets of Paddington.

The place has Style in droves. From the minute you see the wonky front door and the 19th century features, like blowing the dust off a work of art long-forgotten. It's eclectic, eccentric and wonderfully decadent in a rough shabby chic way. Harry, who welcomed us, felt like he had always lived there, although just a staff member filling in, he was full of crazy stories, wit, eccentricity and warm charm. A 12pm check out time is also probably the latest ive come across, although our train left early on the last day & we couldn't take advantage of it how wonderful to have a hotel that rewards you with a decent lie in! When we asked Harry for more milk for the room, he searched the whole hotel for us, (showed us empty rooms on the way to show the variety they did - amazing rooms!) and even offered to go to the shop for us. We went instead, amused & touched by his earnestness to please so my 'negative' about not enough tea/coffee/milk is not really a negative because of the way he tried to take care of us. Take a look at the photos to see what a great quirky place this is. And the location. Just perfect!!

Please provide 2 pillows per guest, please change your brand of tea (its revolting) please provide UHT milk that is IN DATE and please provide more of the above. Its a 3 star because for 4 stars you'd have a bracket for your shower head and your toilet seats wouldn't threaten to break whenever you sit on them. But that's literally it.

The staff were lovely, the accommodation positively idiosyncratic and all round an enjoyable stay. It's not central, but if you like some eccentricity and not standard accommodation with your stay, it's a good option.

the whole hotel was amazingly eclectic, which was the reason I chose it in the first place, it definitely lived up to my expectations! Harry was lovely, very knowledgable and polite we had a great stay and plan to stay again!

i don’t think there was anything we didn’t like, maybe more milk and tea bags in the room, we do like a few cups of tea in the morning! but other than that, everything was awesome
