The location is great being just a few metres from the centre of Looe with a range of places to eat to suit all tastes and budgets. The room was comfortable and a magnificent view. It was not warm enough to sit on the balcony but I can imagine doing that on a summer evening. The bed was comfortable. Clearly a lot of thought had been put into ensuring guests stays were enjoyable. The information folder listing numbers of local restaurants was useful. The flap Jack's were a delicious welcome surprise on our arrival. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The pre-arrival information was really useful. There is parking outside the house. The host, Simon, was friendly and helpful. I recommend people stay at Penwyn.

The property is situated on a narrow hill. Arriving in the dark made it feel even narrower. However watching a transit van go up and down the hill proved it was wider than it initially felt. Cornwall is full of narrow lanes! The walk back to Penwyn is via a very steep hill - but this helps walk off the big breakfast.

We loved everything! Simon was a wonderful host, cooked a fab bfast, couldn't ask for more, such a wonderful, immaculate room with amazing views and best location, few mins walk to shops, restaurants and water sports, it is on a narrow road on a hill which is why the view is spectacular, I have a big car and parked with no problem at all in one of the two spaces available right outside the property. I would definitely recommend penwyn and will definitely go back for another visit in the future, thanks for a beautiful weekend!

Nothing at all to not like, everything spot on and perfect!

Lovely room with balcony giving superb views over Looe and the river. Bed comfortable and all facilities in the room as expected plus free flapjack ! Host a lovely guy, welcoming but unobtrusive. Excellent communication prior to arrival regarding directions, parking, local restaurants. Breakfast superb and other options provided if required Location just 100 metres from the town centre but in a quiet spot. Steep hill to the property might be an issue for some

Nothing really

I’ve been visiting Looe for many years and I have to say this is by far the best B&B that I have stayed in. Simon was a great guy very helpful even carried our bags to the car at the end of our stay nothing was too much trouble. He cooked an amazing breakfast and also left homemade flapjacks in our room on arrival lovely touch. I wish we could have stayed longer but will definitely return on my next visit to Looe. Everything was 10 out of 10 would highly recommend.

We had an exceptional stay at Penwyn with Simon and the lovely Oksana looking after us. We didn't want to leave! The room was great with everything you need and more with beautiful views across Looe. You could spend your whole holiday just looking at that view. The breakfast was also delicious! Loved how close it is to the centre, a couple of mins walk down the hill and you're in the heart of East Looe. Didn't get chance to say bye to Poppy and the friendly cat ha ha. Loved chatting with Simon and Oksana, we will be back once we've saved up again!

Struggled parking outside the b and b, Barbican Hill is steep and narrow but we we're able to use car park at the top of hill a minute walk away (no cost). Penwyn give you directions to this, no problems parking here.

Location is fabulous for no more than a 4 minute walk to East Looe Beach. Just a 2 minute walk to the centre of Looe town itself. Free parking was offered and taken at a nearby property also on the same street of Barbican Hill, which was less than a 60 second walk away. The car park was substantial and allowed plenty of space for my large 5-door car to safely park, turn round and avoid using the narrow streets of Looe. We stayed in the Upstairs bedroom on the first floor with superb panoramic views of Looe Harbour. It was a large room with large opening windows allowing a cooling breeze. The room was spotless and well appointed including Netflix on the flat screen tv, a small fridge, tea/coffee facilities and a separate bathroom with wonderful power shower. Definitely would return 100% with no hesitation whatsoever!!!

I struggle to think of anything I didn't like. If I was absolutely splitting hairs then the only teeny weeny blip, which didn't spoil our holiday one jot was that the one curtain by the TV was not a blackout type, meaning light would come through early in the morning. Hardly worth mentioning.

Simon is an excellent host and this B and B is first class. Homemade cookies were left in our room on arrival which was a nice touch. The breakfast options are vast and Simon is very accommodating in terms of time and what is on offer. The views from the ground floor room (with balcony) are superb. You can watch the world go by (from a distance) from this room. Located on Barbican hill, this b and b is close to numerous pubs and restaurants in East Looe. Parking is just outside the b and b, however there was also parking available at the top of the hill which Simon allowed us to use which was kind.

Everything was great.

The panoramic views of Looe Harbour and beach from your top floor room are breathtaking! The room itself is very spacious, with a shower and toilet room across a hallway within your own room. In the morning, your breakfast has everything catered for - cereals, yoghurts, fruit, toast and a full Cornish cooked breakfast if you want it. All the produce is sourced locally wherever possible - even the tea and coffee are from the local Cornish Tea brand. Come and go as you wish during your stay, but being in the town of East Looe with the town, beach and harbour on your doorstep (and down the hill), you’re never going to be stuck for things to do, but are also never far from base. Although the guest house itself you have pretty much to yourself (and the guests in the other room), your friendly hosts are only next door and are always available at breakfast. I would definitely make Penwyn my first choice of B&B when I plan my next trip to Looe, and with a family member soon returning to Looe to live, I may return before long. Highly recommended! 👍🏻

Room was exceptionally clean, view was spectacular, breakfast was fabulous, the host was welcoming & friendly made us feel very welcomed. There were homemade flapjacks on arrival, definitely recommend we stayed for 3 nights we were offered if we needed anything doing in our room which we didn’t but the offer was there ..minuets from the beach/ town steep hill but well worth it

There was nothing not to dislike.

Friendly greeting from Simon & Edwina & warm homemade biscuits on arrival. Room tastefully decorated & together with the ensuite spotlessly clean. Hosts available for any questions we had at anytime. Breakfast was first class & very filling & Louise who we saw on our second morning was also very friendly & helpful too. Thank you for a lovely short break.

The B&B was situated on a hill which was very steep. Having said that being higher up the views of the harbour from our bedroom were delightful & obviously there because of the position we were situated. Wouldn't put me off coming again though.
