Lloyd and Kirsty were fantastic hosts! The staff were amazing and the locals made us feel like one of them - the Minchello brothers even fixed our car after a breakdown on the way. The pubs in a great location and the surrounding area is stunning! Lloyd even gave us a lift to the station which he he didn’t have to do! They made us a packed lunch because we missed breakfast. The room we stayed in was big and just freshly decorated. It was clean and although it’s on a road it’s really quiet - had some really good sleep! We had breakfast and dinner and all our meals were really tasty and good value for money. Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s a pub….it’s a little gem and we’ll definitely be back!

Great comfortable room, super accommodating with last minute changes, excellent value for money, lovely breakfast and a super service when we had difficulty with transport in the morning. 10/10 for hospitality, thankyou!

If I'm mega super picky... the choice of coffee AND orange juice at breakfast would be nice, even if a paid for addition. That really is it though! Top tip to the owners: get yourself a pub taxi, you'll make a fortune!

Excellent Breakfasts. Although evening Diner Menu selection was sparse The Food was Good. Within easy reach of station, river and sea beaches, but car services needed.

Problem with finding the correct setting on the shower unit which initially supplied water that alternated between too Hot and too Cold,

The property is full of character, but renovated in a sympathetic yet contemporary way. Very welcoming and helpful hosts and staff. The bar serves a very good variety of local ales and cider. The restaurant serves a varied menu of excellent quality food, for all dietary requirements. The room was very comfortable, clean and well serviced. The Halfway House is perfectly positioned to visit East Cornwall and West Devon.

Location near the SWCP was great though glad we had a car! Comfy beds & clean rooms. Breakfast excellent. Food served in the restaurant in the evening was absolutely excellent.

Earliest breakfast was served was 9am which was too late for my friend who needed to be on her way on the SWCP before then. My room was over the bar which was noisy though had quietened down by 22.30

A great reception from Kate when we arrived, and her very kind husband MAL gave me his parking place right outside. We left too early for breakfast but had a very good dinner (cooked by Jago) served in a friendly way by Niamh, Ellie B and Iowena.

It was no fault of the Halfway House but some of their guests were very noisy rather late in the evening.

Lovely and friendly staff who went out their way to help you and great location and would recommend this to other people and would definitely stay again

Very convenient for our purposes, exceptionally friendly landlord/landlady and lovely helpful staff. There was a very good restaurant, fresh milk in our room for coffee and a comfortable bed. What more could you ask from a pub stay?

Parking was restricted but we always got parked.

Location was perfect, plenty of parking and good clean facilities at a nice price. Was only a whistle stop stay but would definitely use again if we are nearby and need a good value stop over.

Clean rooms, comfortable bed. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. They also serve a lovely pint of Mena Dhu.
