The room is brilliant and spacious, plenty of car parking just outside the room, as they are separated from the main pub nice and quiet and all ground level! The shower is absolutely brilliant , nice and hot. Great selection of drinks next to the kettle! Dutch van Houten hot chocolate was delicious 😋. Great big tv! Staff in the morning was very helpful and friendly! Breakfast ( eggs royale) was the best I have ever had!!!! Beds very comfy, will come back!!!

The walls between the rooms are a bit thin; we could hear the tv from next door, which was occupied by my mother in law, which has bionic hearing; so the tv wasn't loud but we could hear it and she did hear my partner coughing. That is the only negative.

Stayed in room 2. Room was very spacious, super comfortable bed, plenty of storage space and a well fitted out bathroom. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely as was breakfast in the morning. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Couldn’t have asked for more during the stay.

Car parking was a bit of an issue when we arrived as there was a function on, but after a bit of manoeuvring we were able to park right outside our room, so this was resolved very well.

Near perfect stay lovely room the staff very helpful especially the lady at breakfast, quiet location food very good will book again they do have one room with a bath and one room that looks over the fields so will try one of those next time another bonus was i could open all windows fully so plenty of fresh air

Couldnt connect to wifi husband wanted to watch the racing replays in the evening so had to watch on my phone and obviously very small screen but other than that faultless

Despite not being open after Sunday lunch the facilities are top notch and staff are lovely. Breakfast was great. I would happily return on a week night and can highly recommend the place

It is not advertised on Booking.Com that the restaurant is NOT open after Sunday lunch so when arriving after a long drive on Sunday evening there is no eating or drinking facilities. It should be made much clearer as had we known we would have booked elsewhere.

Great room. In a lovely pub. Cask ale. Nice food. Exceeded expectations in these regards!

The village is nice but hard to get around without a car. Not the property’s fault so much as there not being enough public transport in the area. The room was a bit chilly (temperature) but comfortable otherwise. Slightly expensive but not bad in comparison to other places in the area.

Nice and clean room with all facilities working. Well maintained and quiet. Comfortable bed. Lovely pub with element food. The rooms are in an annexe so no noise from the pub. Ample easy parking. Highly recommended at a fair price

The room was a bit cold when we got there so we had to turn on the electric heater but no big deal. Also when we arrived no-one knew we had booked and then they asked us to pay when we already had. I think it is was simply badly trained staff but everything got sorted out so not a big issue

The rooms/chalets were superbly appointed and parking was right outside which really helps. Spent a few hours in the bar with some colleagues in the afternoon and service and drinks were great. Staff very friendly and polite. Evening meal was lovely and again staff very attentive and made you feel welcome. Breakfast was lovely and morning staff serving breakfast were superb. A great experience and would definitely book again.

This was far nice a room than I expected, such awesome value for money. Food and drink is exceptional, not cheap but worth every penny. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us.

I was very over excited to find a large deep bath tub, which had jets. But then faced disappointment that it didn't work lol. This really was an added extra I was not expecting so this really is the a very minor gripe.

The location was great. I liked the person who served us breakfast she’s nice. Don’t know her name but mid aged women with short hair. The first day we got there’s a young lady with long hair very mean person. She shouldn’t be greeting people to check in

I was without heater for 2 nights. They didn’t set the room up for guests, however the 3rd day when I expressed my concern the room got really warm

Food was excellent as was the room and the staff

When you see the Royal Oak from the roadside it looks disappointing it could put people off from visiting. There is absolutely nothing to be disappointed with when you do visit though. So perhaps it may be an idea to make the outside a little more appealing. Flower boxes or some lights maybe.
