Had a fantastic stay at this little hidden gem. Paul the host was absolutely lovely and we received a lovely welcome. The location is ideal and everywhere was within walking distance, yet it is hidden away from the hustle and bustle. The whole place was quirky and he has put a lot of effort into making it a very special little getaway location. Everything was practically on the doorstep. The room was lovely and had some real character and he champions local business for some of the supplies in the room which was lovely to see
Only thing missing ( and it's a girl thing ) was a full length mirror for getting ready 😁

Beautiful small and luxurious guesthouse near to the sea in Margate. About a mile from the train station if you are travelling that way. The owner, Paul, that we met was utterly lovely and could not have been any more helpful. He lives in an adjoining properly that is being renovated but we heard no noise or disturbance while we stayed there. Lovely bed, really well decorated room great tea and coffee facilities, AMAZING shower. Very practical little kitchenette with fridge if needed. You enter from the back through a car park where there is a gate that let's you into the courtyard for the property. Call in advance for entry.
No breakfast as the restaurant is undergoing renovation but this is a tiny niggle. The terrifying teddy bear with the realistic looking teeth, what was THAT about :)

The owners of this small guest house were very nice. They live on the premises and can answer questions about the town. My room was large and beautiful and located minutes from the central part of Margate. It had a kitchenette with coffee and teas and a refrigerator. I would highly recommend the Beetroot. One alert is that the entire from of the facility is under construction. They are adding rooms and a restaurant. This means you enter from the back where there is a gate. You will need to call them for entry. This was a bit confusing to me when I arrived.

Lovely characterful set of rooms with great central location for old town, harbour and Tate. Lots of nice bars and restaurants in short walking distance. The room was very comfortable. Bed was lovely and having the additional soft pillow was great. Towels were soft and ensuite bathroom was very clean. Nice choice of teas plus kettle and cups plus water glasses and wine glasses in room. Paul is very friendly and helpful and gave good advice about where to park for free. The property has a lovely outside space to sit and enjoy a glass of wine (if the weather is kind).
Not enough spaces and coat hangers for coats etc. Not enough little milks in the room for 2 people to have a hot drink before bed plus a drink each in the morning. No chair or stool to sit on in the room. Insufficient shelf in bathroom for 1 persons stuff (let alone 2).

Our stay at the Beetroot was very nice. The owner greeted us on arrival and was very kind. He also let us stay in the room past check-out time as it was raining and we had a bit of a wait until it was time to catch our train. The room itself was like a tiny art museum! Definetly one of the more unique rooms we have ever stayed in. It was also located very centrally, so easily walkable to everything we wanted to visit, inlcuding the train station.
The only down side to the room was that the hot water did not last very long, however, it did heat up again pretty quickly.

I loved this place right from arrival when I was personally welcomed by the owner Paul. There are some really nice touches here, a little cuddly toy creature sitting on the bed, and some excellent tea from a local producer Chai Wallah of Margate (I ordered some for myself as soon as I got home). My bed was extremely comfortable and I had an excellent night's sleep. The wi-fi worked well, which was important as I was visiting Margate for work. In the morning I spent some time in the lovely, quirky little courtyard complete with a goldfish pond - would have stayed longer but I had a train to catch. The location is great, only a few minutes' walk from the seafront and about ten from the station which is on the edge of town. There are some superb, friendly bars (Fez, the Xylo Brewery and the Two Halves) less than five minutes walk away as well as plenty of places to get food. I will certainly stay here again next time I'm in Margate!
Frankly for a short stay like mine it was ideal - there's certainly nothing I'd complain about. I think if I were staying longer I'd have liked a chair in my room rather than sitting on the bed. The only other observation I'd make is that older or less healthy guests might find the steps up to the room heavy going.

The location is ideal for easy access to the train station and high street. The room was very clean and amenities were wonderful, didn’t get to make use of the tea and coffee facilities but if you are a person who loves a daily brew you are very well catered for. The courtyard was beautiful, and the fountain was lovely to listen to at night.
Parking is the only downside, but it isn’t that much a problem as there is plenty of free parking nearby and you get to enjoy the local area walking too and from your car.

Great location in the Old Town Very comfortable bed and good quality bedding Large modern smart TV Excellent coffee making facilities
Advice for business travellers, if you're up early there is nowhere open before 9am to get breakfast. I walked the whole old town but everything was shut at 8am, despite some places advertising they're open on Google. Take some cereal with you. The hotel doesn't provide breakfast which I knew, so this is just a tip if you're in Margate out of the tourist season.

The room was gorgeous, the location was perfect and the hosts were warm and welcoming. The Beetroot was a real find. The room was clean, fresh and decorated tastefully. The teas and coffees were fab and a great selection. The hotel is nestled in the old side of town in the quirky streets laden with shops and bars. Nothing was more than a 10 minute walk away. We had a great stay for two nights and I would thoroughly recommend The Beetroot over any commercial chains.

Quirky, quaint and an absolute gem of a place to stay. The courtyard with its plants, pond and gentle waterfall, artwork on the walls and all the bunting and lights make for a really relaxing place to sit and enjoy the the atmosphere and experience that is The Beetroot. My room was clean, well presented and had all that I needed in it; including a proper teapot and selection of loose teas, something I haven’t seen before, but really appreciated. As for the bed, that too was very comfortable- and this from someone who often finds it hard to settle and sleep in a different bed, but sleep I did and very well. Right in the heart of the old town it’s perfectly located for all the amenities, while the courtyard provides a quiet and relaxing refuge on return. Paul, the owner and host is all you could want; friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and has an ‘eye’ for all kinds of little things and touches that go to make this a special place to stay. I will most definitely be returning here.
There was nothing I didn’t dislike.
