It was such a pleasure to stay at the Royal Albion, a beautiful hotel combined with a nice pub on the ground floor. I was fortunate enough to get a room with a large balcony overlooking the picturesque sea. The stunning view added an extra touch to the overall beauty of the room. Beakfast was fresh and tasty, every bite was a small indulgence. Not only was the food nothing short of delightful, but the attentive service, the warm hospitality and genuine friendliness left a lasting impression on me, making me feel like a truly valued guest. With its superb location by the Broadstairs beach, delightful breakfast, elegant atmosphere and warm service, this hotel was such a lovely experience!

I found this to be an exceptional hotel. The location is the best in Bournemouth, overlooking the beach with all the restaurants and shops etc either on the same street or very close. My room had a lovely sea view with a large bay window. Plenty of tea and coffee supplies were provided. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom had a bath and a lively shower. There is no parking outside but I was able to drop off fairly easily and go to park. There is a 24 hr pay and display car park within 5 mins walk. The hotel had a nice dining area and a bar. Breakfast was plentiful with ample choices and we were served by a friendly waiter who was fast and efficient and gave us a great smile every morning. Also the young lady on reception was very friendly, helpful and efficient.

There is no lift but you might expect that from a 3 star hotel and the receptionist offered assistance to carry our bags to the room.

Beautiful room (ask for 26), great powerful shower, coffee machine and pods provided which is so rare in hotels and is such a bonus when you're a coffee snob! Lovely views, friendly staff.

All three mornings at breakfast staff were great except filling up your coffee. They are such small cups that it's only a few mouthfuls but we had to keep asking to be topped up, nobody was going round refilling. Very expensive for a February weekend stay but room was worth it. Saw the non sea view rooms and some of them looked very cramped and almost hostel-like.

Breakfast was excellent although no Kippers or Haddock options- got a little bit fed up with variations on eggs after 5 night stay. The buffet bar was excellent although the apples needed to be changed as they were very prune-like by end of stay. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble- this makes a massive difference. The position is amazing overlooking the beach- but don't bring a car as there is no car park- will come again but will use buses and trains- plenty of them.

No kippers on breakfast menu see above. I also found public areas a bit grubby in places- a few sticky seats, wallpaper peeling etc.. The downstairs men's toilet was like a pub toilet really- not very good. The room was also too hot at night. This was without any heating on in room- heat coming from the cupboard. It was noisy at night but we expected that on the main drag on a holiday weekend and we enjoyed the cultural aspects of the town anyway. But if you want it to be quiet- you should probably not come here during bank hols.

The hotel had a really nice vibe about this place , lovely building great location quirky rooms but functional, wait staff really helpful, as was the lady on check in at reception. it’s not perfect a few holes in the service here and there , but well worth a stay we had great weather which always makes a huge difference, some great restaurants in Broadstairs these days which is another plus

The hotel seems to prioritise visitors over staying guests, or It appears that way , breakfast was great ,really tasty good service to , the area the guests are advised to use is not good compared to the rest of the dining area, the views are obstructed the main reason we chose this hotel were for the views Apart from that we had no real complaints Probably need to add something extra for the guess experience regarding the service for drinks and food at the bar as there was no differentiation which can tick you off , understand it’s a business but guests customers should really get some preference

There’s a lot to like about this hotel. Firstly its location elevated above the beach sea view rooms have panoramic views of Viking bay. The staff were all very helpful and super friendly and we also enjoyed our evening meal in the bar where they had a singing duo playing to entertain the guests. The hotel is pet friendly which works well for us and our room was a spacious en-site with a table in the bay window to sit and enjoy the panoramic sea views and lovely sunrise.

its a lovely hotel but some of the room fixtures and fitting are now starting to look a little worn but even so, the rooms are clean stylish and spacious.

We love the family room. The space is open and clean. Toilet has built-in toilet seat for kids, bath has anti-slip mat for safety, generous towels and the beds are comfy while the room had black-out curtain which was very useful when sleeping at this season. Breakfast is superb and the location is near to the shops, restaurants and of course the beach itself. It is also wheelchair/ stroller accessible and provided us a storage downstairs for our children's stroller.

For a light sleeper like me, the room was not as quiet from the inside and outside when you sleep during the day or night but expected given that the structure is historical and it's between some busy streets and the shops and pubs around it. It would be helpful if they could provide or sell affordable ear plugs or note it so that clients can prepare noise-cancelling headphones or ear plugs. You can still sleep well at night in general especially if your exhausted from walking around or after you had some drinks.

Lovely hotel. Literally on the beach front. Room was really nicely furnished and very clean. Bar and veranda looked stunning with the view over the beach. Good breakfast. Really helpful and cheery staff.

There's no onsite parking but walkable public car parks and on-road parking nearby. However spaces are at a premium, especially on a sunny bank holiday. My advice is to grab the first space you come across. We didn't and ended up spending over 20 minutes driving around trying to find one. The room has no air con so did get a bit stuffy. One of the sash windows wouldn't stay open unless it was opened fully. This really helped with airing the room but it did let in a lot of street noise. There were no fans in the room, I suspect reception would be able to provide one if you asked but I didn't feel the need to do can't be sure.

Location is perfect, our room had a view overlooking the sea. Room itself was bright and airy and bed was very comfortable. Tea and coffee was well stocked. Bathroom was clean and shower was good.

Reception was rarely manned during our stay. The use of terrace outside our room was inhibited by 3 large wooden safety barriers protecting a section of the roof obviously under repair (this was not mentioned at check-in). We were unable to get lunch at the hotel as they had stopped serving food (at 2pm) due to high numbers of orders and long waiting times. Fortunately, The Pavillion, 5 minute walk away, was able to accommodate us and the food was fab. Our room was comfortable, however the bathroom window did not open and the extract not very good.

The view from the bay windows in our room was tremendous, showing Viking Bay .The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable . A lovely bathroom with nice shower . The breakfast was adequate though for some reason I was expecting there would be kippers (had seen it on website) but unfortunately no , cooked breakfast was fine though . And on the last day I was delighted to see there was salmon so that made my day . The staff at breakfast , the bar , the reception and the evening waiting staff were all very nice and welcoming . The food was very good as well .

We were given a nice table , however we didnt realise it was in the section that dogs were allowed , thought we did move for next day to the non dog section . Local dog walkers are allowed on to the balcony and have their tea and coffees which we have no issue about (in fact a great idea) but didnt like when they came into the breakfast room to pat the dog there , I feel that the locals should be kept out of the breakfast area . While occasionally dogs would bark at each other when arriving in the breakfast area which can be disconcerting This was the only BONE of contention , we had not seen the sign dog free zone .
