Booked a classic double and had everything we needed except a view which was fine with us as we didn't stay in the room much. Everything was lovely and clean.

We arrived to the hotel about 35 mins before the check in time of 3pm. On arrival, we were told our room was ready, but if we wanted to check in "early", there would be an additional charge of £10!! Not sure if this is only applied to Booking.com customers, but it's the first time I have come across this and obviously refused to pay and waited until 3pm. Once checked in, payment for the weekend was taken immediately which again I found odd, isn't this usually taken at the end of the stay?

1) Card payments only accepted. 2) Lack of storage in guest room, especially when staying for more than a couple of nights. 3) No residents only car parking spaces, difficult to find a suitable space when function were being held.

Nothing. only thing to say we didn’t know water and some drinks hot chocolate etc were no longer placed in the room but staff were excellent with helping with jugs of water etc. just be nice to be informed of such changes. and lastly a room next to ours ? possibly ? had loud music / voices until 3am. we spoke to the reception in the morning and realise in future to report such things immediately by phone and night porters can help with such things.

Very nice, friendly service from all staff. Clean, tidy, well-equipped rooms. Great location - Viking Bay and town centre both no more than 10 minutes walk away.

Only downside was when the receptionist pre-booked a taxi on the morning of check-out for pick-up that afternoon. We were not informed until we arrived back at the hotel to pick-up the taxi that the taxi company did not accept pre-bookings due to no-shows. We were very fortunate to be offered a lift to the train station by another guest or else would have missed our train back to London. The situation could have been managed better (at least I could have been contacted on Booking.Com by the hotel to let me know that the taxi pre-book had not been booked successfully). I also wasn't too happy about the constant messages from the hotel in the build-up to our stay trying to sell Spa treatments, restaurant bookings and extras such as Prosecco on arrival.

The room was very good value for money, Junior Suite, huge bathroom with seperate shower. The breakfast was amazing. Staff attentive and friendly, bar one receptionist.

On arrival @ 2:30, bags still in car. My sister and I enquired if it were possible to check-in the 30 mins early. An abrupt NO, NOT UNTIL 3, was the reply. Not even , it's not possible I'm afraid or you could wait in bar or lounge area..... Not my idea of Customer Service. The receptionist who eventually checked us in was very polite, informative and efficient.

Accessibility to some rooms should be highlighted (particularly the suites as no lift to them) and more disabled parking spaces should be provided, I am disabled and struggled with the stairs.

Didn’t like the smell of varnish from the flooring being treated in one of the main rooms leaving a strong smell around tre hotel especially the breakfast room, v unpleasant bad headache inducing as v sensitive to strong smells. Also couldn’t believe we couldn’t buy a sandwich after 6pm when my child was hungry and didn’t want a full meal or chips - terrible service!! We were given a brioche roll from leftover breakfast sausage at 8.30pm one night charging a substantial amount yet for a child to get a sandwich of sorts was refused v disappointing!

Location..Good location. Bus stops near with access to nearby seaside towns. Layout. Easy to find your way around. Room..Good size..huge bathroom with enough room for a separate shower which would have been preferable.

Tea station at breakfast. Every morning I had cold tea as the thermos flasks were not adequate. Also, could there not be a teapot so we could fill one for the table. I made numerous trips to the tea station refilling cups. Lack of drawers in room. No drawers at all. Plenty of room to put one. Clothes that couldn't be hung I ended up piling on the chairs. Toilet paper. This was the thinnest and smallest toilet paper I have ever seen. Used numerous sheets so not sure cheap toilet paper is cost effective.

Location, very clean inside well maintained. Very good breakfast.

Outside the main entrance could do with a good sweep and weed removal. Ashtrays located at front door this would be unpleasant for non smokers would suggest another location. It would be a good idea for the staff to have name badges. Also the use of their own mobile phones whilst working as I found the guests were not getting their full attention and it did not look good almost as if they were not interested. However I found all staff to be pleasant and helpful once you had their attention.

We stayed here for two nights on our way home from Europe. Hotel is set in a lovely old building and is a 10 minute walk from the centre of Broadstairs. The building used to be a college and has been refurbished to a high standard. The corridors and rooms are spacious and have retained a lot of the original features. Our room was a large double and the bed was probably the biggest hotel bed we have ever slept in. It was very comfortable and the room was serviced every day. Breakfast was in a spacious dining room and the service was excellent. There was an extensive choice of hot and cold food that was well prepared and presented.
