There was a good choice of items for breakfast, did not have to stick to the same things both mornings. The room was good - appreciated the desk fan. All the staff made us feel welcome. We did not eat in the restaurant but did have the Posh Chips as a takeout to have in our room - these were delicious . Though not very often there was a bus that stopped nearby, which was good as we were on a carless break.

Not really anything we didn’t like but could do with more shelf space in the bathroom so to be able the put out toiletries also in the shower to put shampoo/ shower gel - not always easy to bend down to pick them up. Also, could do with a better place to put used towels - bathroom door would not close when we put the bath towels on the rail!

The staff were all very friendly and approachable, they had a positive demeanour and seemed down to earth. The breakfast that was included, was fantastic, a massive range from a buffet- alongside an ordered breakfast. I went for a vegan breakfast and asked if I could swap my mushrooms for eggs, which was no problem. Similarly, my partner asked for a different combination than was offered on the menu, which was accommodated. The room itself was clean and everything worked as expected. For the price, in the Cotswolds, you cannot really argue with this!

The furnishings and appliances in the room, were quite tired- perhaps in need of a lick of paint or replacement here and there. Though this is purely wear and tear, scratches and marks on things- nothing major that really impacted the stay, it would just help the overall presentation of the room. The noise from the road was also somewhat noticeable, but really this was expected, as we saw the location before booking.

Excellent service with very friendly staff. The food was very good and reasonably priced. We were very lucky with the weather as it was very warm and sunny for most of our stay and so we were able to eat breakfast and our evening meals outside and enjoy the beautiful garden.

The soundproofing of the room above us wasn't brilliant and one morning we were woken at 6am by the guests in that room . They stomped around very noisily till 8am and talked very loudly, but I guess that wasn't the hotel's fault, just inconsiderate people.

There was a good choice of breakfasts and on the first morning the service was very good. The young waiting staff were friendly and eager to help. We had a slight issue with our room which was remedied as soon as possible. The food was excellent!

On our second morning there was only one person serving breakfast and also checking out guests. Despite working very hard, they were unable to restock breakfast items quickly and there was a wait for coffee, hot water, milk etc. Another member of staff would have been a help.

Beautifully furnished, comfortable bedroom with everything you need for your stay. The shower, in particular, was fantastic. Very welcoming atmosphere and staff were particularly friendly. Lovely breakfast with a good choice of vegetarian/vegan and non vegetarian.

Only downside was the location on a busy road. Our bedroom was on the front and our window was right on the road so very noisy. There are bedrooms not facing the road, possibly higher rate, so best to check if road noise bothers you. Also, if you plan to walk into Minchinhampton, there's no pavement from the pub, just an uneven, muddy grass verge for quite a way until you come to a more built up part.

Lovely old pub/hotel in great location just outside a village in the Cotswolds. Great for exploring the local area. Staff were very friendly and met some lovely local people in the bar. Evening meal was good in the pleasant restaurant. Good car parking. Outside area looked really nice if you were staying in the summer. Would stay again.

Bedroom rather hot even with the window open so didnt sleep that well. Breakfast was really good but the service was a bit hit and miss. Discovered after that the waiter was on his own and was in charge of reception at the same time. Not their fault just short staffed. Not a deal breaker for us.

This was a great find for us. The room albeit small had comfortable beds with a lovely shower. The best part though was the stunning quality of the food...superb local ingredients cooked to perfection giving fabulous tastes...further enhance with good wine! An ideal location for visiting a large area of the Cotswolds including our requirement which was visiting the gardens of Highgrove House.

Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was great. We also stayed for an evening meal which was really delicious, good standard of food! The hotel Itself was decorated nicely, modern, clean and the room we stayed in was perfect for our visit. The grounds were nicely kept too.

Just a few minor things noted- some carpet stains in our bedroom and the headboard had lots of scratches but nothing a bit of paint couldn’t resolve.

A well appointed room with a very comfortable bed. We had a very nice welcome on arrival. Our dinner was really excellent and again the staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was a little slow but very good with very helpful staff who were happy to make us individual coffees with hot milk rather than us having to use the already percolated coffee sitting on a heated stand (which in general we find too strong and rather tepid).
