The English breakfast was above average for this type of hotel, with a good choice of quality ingredients. We liked the bacon which was good quality and cooked perfectly. Good value. Having parking available on site at no extra cost was a bonus, although the parking spaces were a little tight. The grounds were nicely landscaped and maintained. The information about the history of the place, and how the architects were able to skilfully blend the old with the new. Nice smelling toiletries from This Works. Stylish decor in the room.

Our room was not serviced during our stay, although we appreciate that staffing can be a problem at times. The bath was a bit slippery, so a bath mat would be a useful addition.

Spa facilities were lovely the grandchildren loved the pool apart from on Monday morning people with memberships not appreciating the children in the pool playing. Golf course was an added bonus for my son-in-law

Food in the bar and the service. We ordered starters for 4 adults and 2 children. We were specifically asked do we want the starters 1st then the main. We said yes. We waited nearly hour only for all the food to come together. No apology,took mains back and stated they’d cook some more fresh.. they did not. We have the same meals cold and dry. Couldn’t be bothered to argue as we were all hungry and the children needed to go to bed.

Very satisfied with all aspects of our stay, having said that we did find that on the Friday afternoon/evening that a couple of young lads were playing football below our room. It made no difference to our stay but we have never had that before.

Sorry, sort of carrying on from the above, there was plenty of car parking space at the hotel however people were parking on the double yellow lines on the entrance to reception. Why ? I do think that the management should be strong and inform these people to move. Why should they be different from the other guests that were abiding to your rules.

Bedroom was spacious and exactly what we were hoping for. Breakfast selection was extremely good and well prepared and presented.

Dependency on use of "QR" code for ordering Room Service when you don't have the appropriate mobile phone was very frustrating especially when there were no direct line phone contact numbers in the room. I had to go down to Bar on the first night to order room service as no one was answering the phone. The next day I was provided with the appropriate contact detail by Reception. Not impressed with the Dining Area being a through route for people using the Gym and other services, did not lead to an enjoyable dining experience.

The room was beautiful, plenty of space very clean tea n coffee facilities in the room , views were lovely the staff were friendly and helpful, the whole place was clean , very pleasant atmosphere felt safe at all times , the breakfast was of a fantastic selection suited all needs , no issues whatsoever Will definitely be going and staying again to this beautiful hotel and will recommend to family n friends that's for sure, it was also very quiet in the evening, wasn't disturbed at any point in the evening, and there were a lot of people in the hotel , but we didn't hear a peep , we had a very relaxing time there !

Whilst perhaps a little dated the room was immaculately clean and very spacious. Had all the things and features that I would expect. The location is perfect for the RHS Gardens , access to Manchester centre and the motorway links but is pretty rural too and away from road noise. Restaurant looks lovely and the breakfast was excellent. The availability of a Brunning and Price Pub in the grounds is also an attraction with an excellent range of drinks, beers and food

Our room was on the ground floor and quite near to reception meaning that footflow and noise was a bit much. In our first night there was a lot of late night noise and banging of doors and whilst I did hear the manager speaking to one room, it didn’t do a lot to cut the noise. That said the second night was much better so perhaps I was just unlucky. I would have expected the staff to have done more to monitor after the first warning though.

Breakfast was good. A special shout out to Apple who was great :) Fitness facilities and grounds were great. Room was spacious. It’s a good hotel and we would stay again despite the patchy customer service experience.

Room service one night arrived frozen! (Curry). We had to ask 3 times in one day before the sheets were changed after our toddler was unwell (the lady who did finally change them was lovely and slightly appalled). With a couple of notable exceptions, the staff seemed young / inexperienced and customer service levels were low

Staff couldn't have been more helpful on arrival. Lovely quiet, sparkling clean room with a really comfortable bed. Excellent night's sleep followed by an early morning dip in the pool. Whatever you usually have for breakfast is on offer. Berries and Greek yogurt? Cereal? Fresh fruit, nuts and seeds? Full English? They're yours. Quick, easy check-in and check-out. Perfect destination after a long, hot drive. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The restaurant and food was very good. The room was extremely comfortable and very clean. The gardens were beautiful and very well maintained. The location of the hotel was very convenient. The car park was close to the hotel which is really helpful when it comes to carrying your case

We had to pay £4.00 for two small bags of potato crisps. There was a mix up with the bill and payments although this did get resolved. We would have liked to have used the swimming pool but there was a very unpleasant smell in the changing rooms, so we decided not to.

Very central location for us. We were visiting from Australia and have family and friends in and around the area. The room was very clean and comfy and pleasant enough for sleeping which is all we needed. We stayed for 9 nights. The added facilities including the pool and restaurant were an added bonus. Staff helped us if we needed anything and we’re very welcoming. The housekeeping staff in particular always greeted us with a smile and a friendly hello which to us made it feel like home once again. Just a few minor issue mainly about the room. There was no fridge which would have helped us keep a few extra comforts for a longer stay. The hot water wasn’t very hot and after running a bath it was only luke warm which was disappointing.
