As we were going to arrive late evening, I rang the hotel to confirm our arrival time, the gentleman who answered said not to worry, our room was ready for when we arrive. A friendly welcome when we arrived, with the young man offering to take our bags to the room. We stayed in the Pastel room, which was ideal for our needs, lovely twin beds as requested. We noticed that the radiators were not warm, and mentioned this to Nicole, who was so helpful, and spent a while checking everything and reset the heating, whilst we had a couple of excellent beers in the cosy front bar. When we returned to the room it was lovely and warm. Thankyou Nicole Beds were comfortable, and there were even a couple of sets of ear plugs supplied (Church bell?) These were not needed as the bells were barely audible. Slept very well. Next morning we had one of the tastiest (and largest) breakfasts which again was served by a pair of very friendly ladies, who gave the impression that they were loving working at the hotel. Overall a fantastic place to stay, looking forward to our next trip to the Limes

Nothing at all.

Breakfast was very good, good value for money. Should use locally sourced ingrediants....sausage and bacon especially, local eggs and mushrooms would be a bonus although we all really enjoyed it

Dinner was a little dissappointing, had the wrong steak delivered even tho I stressed 2 or 3 times I like it very well done, came out on the rareish side and had to wait an additional 40 minutes for a freshly cooked one, everybody else had finished theirs by the time mine arrived, 2 of the 4 of the group enjoyed the meal although there was a small issue with the other steak....which was also returned as it was slightly overdone for his liking only to have it returned the chef stating it was cooked perfectly well. One of the 2 starters had a small "ziplock" type piece of plastic in it so more care needed there. Overall it is a lovely hotel well placed on the main street with access to other eateries and pubs

Would have liked a yoghurt/granola or toast and marmalade type breakfast. My avocado and eggs breakfast was delicious, but I didn’t need a “two egg/whole avocado “ type meal, nor the expense of that. A large mug of coffee and a tea cake was ideal, in the cafe opposite.

As the heating hadn’t been turned on, the offer of an electric fire for a quick burst of heat would have been welcomed. A handle to help oldies step out of the bath would have been useful.

This hotel was situated in the middle of a beautiful little oldy worldy down, the people were really friendly and there were other pubs within a short walking distance so you could always find entertainment. The hotel was really quaint and the staff were super welcoming, friendly and helpful, we all really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again if in the area.

Nothing, we really enjoyed this hotel.

The staff were all very friendly, the room very comfortable, with little quirks relevant to its age and history. Food was good, though some rice , in addition to the naan bread would have been appreciated with the Thai curry. Similarly, at breakfast, an additional slice of toast would have been welcome.

Venue on the High street easy to find, lovely bar areas and a grand hall for bigger event's, went to see Eban Brown /Soul Tonic, great music.. Several bars to choose from, good prices, bed comfortable, slept well but road works a little noisy during the day, but only Temporary.. Staff great and accommodating, buses run outside, so easy to find, train station up the road.. Will be back to stay or pop in the bars for a drink 👍

Waitress was extremely pleasant and helpful. Food excellent standard at evening meal and breakfast. Beautiful old building, room recently refurbished.

Breakfast menu and cost. Very poor choice as no cereal, yoghurt, fruit juice, pastries on offer. Had to pay for coffee! After paying nearly £14 for full English breakfast, paying for coffee wasn’t on! However, the full English was very good quality, no complaints there. Perhaps provide a choice of pastries, toast and jam etc or even a bacon bap!

Amazing management, so helpful and sweet. The place was newly done up. The bedroom we stayed in was exceptional. I'm used to staying in swanky hotels, but this was a surprise that it was so big, the bed was so comfortable, bathroom clean and practical, the bar and restaurant were very varied, some of the food was fantastic. The area is lovely.

Needs a lobby sofa to sit. Good food, but could do better, seafood pasta needs more seafood.

Lovely food options all made fresh- I'm gluten free so to get such nice options for both dinner and breakfast was lovely. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and happy to serve- great customer service :-)

Entrance for parking not clear. Because windows are single glazed I could hear the clock chiming and road noise very clearly, which could be a problem for light sleepers.
