Wonderful quiet retreat not far off the main road. Full of character but the room have been extensively refurbished and fitted out. Bed was particularly comfortable and spacious. Lots of power sockets for charging etc around the room, by the bed and sitting area. Breakfast is cooked to order and was high quality. Hosts are friendly and helpful - suggesting a short walk up to the viaduct. which gave expansive views of the area.

Wi-Fi isn’t super fast but to be expected in more remote parts of Devon. Adequate for email but less so for video streaming. However it was available in all rooms.

Situated on the edge of Dartmoor the Manor offers easy access for walkers or tourists alike. The location was ideal for what we wanted to do. It's a beautiful old house and the large beautifully kept grounds offer plenty of room to stroll around or just sit in the sun and relax. The Breakfasts are exceptional and the Hosts are very, very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. There are also plenty of local hostelries within easy distance for getting an evening meal. Whats not to like?

Nothing to dislike!

From the moment we arrived, the hosts were incredibly welcoming. The room was big and immaculate, with a comfortable bed and sofa area. The entire space had a warm, homey vibe. The location was perfect to visit the north of the National Park, with some pubs at walking distance to have dinner. We also loved the breakfast in the morning, lots of options to choose from and all of them homemade and delicious!

Nothing that we can think of! Maybe wifi was a bit funny sometimes, but there were different connection points to switch to, so overall worked well during our stay :)

This wonderful B&B is a 15th century manor house set in an idyllic location in beautiful grounds. Rooms are well maintained and very comfortable. Breakfast was most enjoyable with local produce and options to suit all tastes.

There was absolutely nothing that we didn't like but just one comment that the bath was quite high getting to access the shower (for the elderly!) Perhaps could do with a grab rail although being an aged building this probably isn't possible. However, we managed and it didn't make any difference to our visit whatsoever.

The married couple that look after the manor house and grounds take pride in making sure that guests are made to feel welcome and do everything they can to ensure that you have an enjoyable stay. Breakfast was excellent.

When we booked, we didn't notice that evening meals is not a service that they offer. No matter - when I asked to book a table for dinner, they sent me an informative message via Booking. Com, detailing 6 different venues in the area with contact details etc. For instance, Bearslake Inn (where my wife and I have been to many times before ) is only a few minutes away.

Accommodating hosts that offered a wonderful, quiet location to stay. The manor itself is beautiful, with garden areas to sit in located on the property. There is ample parking as well. The room itself was spacious, with a convenient sofa/chair for sitting located next to the bed. Plug were also available in abundance, and importantly beside the bed. The breakfast was outstanding- truly delicious with a regal layout which just made it feel even more prestigious.

didn't have to pay for WiFi. The access to walks on Dartmoor were exellent, especially Lydford Gorge. The room was prepared by the time we arrived and was super clean. Breakfast was really delicious and plentiful. What sold it for us is its super pet friendly (except the breakfast room which is fair) and Maya our border collie loved staying there, plenty of garden to run around. Jakes and Jane were lovely hosts, thank you both ❤️

Nothing, it was the perfect place to stay, thank you

The hosts were really nice, the breakfasts were really nice. The setting was beautiful & quiet. Great location.

It would have been nice to maybe have local tea in the room instead of just Yorkshire tea but that is just personal taste. Mostly very clean just dust on the back of the door of the toilet. Didn’t like that the door also creaked very loudly & would have preferred a small fridge in room. But just little things, we had a very nice stay.

A stunning period Manor- set in wonderfully maintained gardens. Lovely welcome on arrival, good information prior to arrival on where to book an evening meal. Rooms were lovely and shower hot. Nice lounge and bar area. Very helpful in storing our bicycles. Breakfast was full and hearty with a lovely fresh fruit salad. Hotel Managers very helpful and friendly.

We were cycling the Granite Way and getting off the route and down to the Hotel was either via a very loose rocks steep path then onto the fast road for 0.6mile or use of a very bumpy bridle path that turned into an overgrown narrow path. I realise that this is totally out of the control of the hotel!!

Stunning property, beautifully kept and maintained, wonderful service from the owners and decent dinner at an old thatched pub not too far away. Great location for walkers.

Most things were great but there's no shop nearby and so you need to stock up before you go. Also, and this wasn't so good, the tap was brown. The owners were great and provided free bottled water but obviously you still need to shower or bath in this stuff. It wasn't dirty per se but you hope for more when you stay in an otherwise immaculate place.
